The animation is amazing! everything is clean, fluid and full of life. the characters are well thought out (especially for a gatcha game), and the dialog is written very well. The gameplay is pretty casual though, not too much strategy or skill involved with the combat system which makes fights stale. There’s very little actual game in here. the whole reason to play this game game is the characters. leveling them up, unlocking more of their story, prepping them for the world boss. This games file size is huge and the gatcha system is a gatcha system. So a Grindey roulette roll for if you get your desired character or the 19th repeat. So this game is for those who like cute anime girls and not much else. if that fills your neesh then this is your game. ### 3/5 — Make draw rates higher for 2-3 star characters in gachas!!!! *2022-04-12, version 3.1.0* Honestly I love the game and all, but I just hate how the draw rates for a 3 star character is so low. Like make the cost for the gacha be 1,000 jewels for 10 draws and 100 jewels for 1 draw, it makes it a lot better to actually draw more instead of wasting 1,500 jewels for 10 because with 1,500 it seems like you just wasted two draws worth of it. Also don’t make the draw rates be below 1%, have be at a higher rating. ### 5/5 — Good Gacha Rates *2022-02-14, version 2.10.0* I have every character. I've been playing every single day since it was released. People who complain about drop rates are not hardcore players. It's sooooo easy to pull characters and the pity system is great. My only complaint is the gear drop rates. They aren't as generous and the stamina system is a bit harder to maintain in the end game. Other than that the story is fine, good characters, fun to pass the time with. The only thing is when you just to download the stuff in the game, you also have to make sure you download it in parts or else it will take forever. You need good internet to make it download fast. If it takes too slow than just get out and do the download again. ### 4/5 — A Good Anime; A Decent Game *2021-11-04, version 2.6.4* I’ve enjoyed playing this game. The only complaint that I have is that they seemed to invest quite a bit on the stories (main story, character stories, guild stories, misc stories) but not enough on the actual gameplay. The quests seem to just be there for you to get 3 stars so you can unlock another cut scene. There also doesn’t seem to be a lot going on with character and equipment building/ team composition. You can usually just blow through content with your highest powered team of 5. Regardless of whether you have a healer, buffer, etc. ### 3/5 — It’s pretty ok, progress stops fairly soon. *2021-09-05, version 2.6.0* You just come to a stop half way through leveling up and even spending real money wouldn’t really help speed things up. And the difficulty curve doesn’t work either. You just go from easy to undoable real fast and it’s not a skill based game, all about numbers. You just can’t progress till you play for a few more months straight just to clear one level only to get stuck again. ### 5/5 — I love it! *2021-05-25, version 2.4.10* The art style is lovely and makes the game a joy to view. The gameplay is simple but addictive and no paying to win either! Paying can give you a boost but you get plenty of the in-game currency by completing levels, joining guilds, and participating in arena battles. Even though I’m level 70 as of making this review, I’ve never spent a penny! ### 5/5 — Highly Recommended *2021-04-16, version 2.4.9* I hate this game. I hate the addictive effects at graphics the characters and the ui. I have everything about this game but can’t stop playing it. I hate that the developers keep adding new levels and characters. Characters which I can’t get because I keep getting old characters so I stopped trying although. I hate all the various options, elaborate comics and daily missions. I hate it so much. Why can’t I stop playing when I have to spend diamonds to continue leveling up? I hate having to work so hard to level up and pvp just to lose to those who are at the top whom gets free diamonds just for being there. I hate getting awards... I just hate it all. ### 3/5 — It’s a “mostly” generous gotcha game but has some flaws... *2021-04-02, version 2.4.8* It’s well build and all. Summoning gems are not very difficult to get so that’s a big plus especially for a gotcha game. Sadly the game has no dub but that’s alright. The biggest issue is how luck based ranking up is. You spend stamina to go on quests to get pieces of gear. Each gear has 3 or 4 levels it can drop from so you go there and farm but you probably won’t get what you need. You can WASTE ENTIRE DAYS WORTH OF STAMINA and not get any of the gear you needed. The loot dropped is padded with rank 1 gear that you will just keep pulling those instead of the other gear you needed. If it were the golden gear then yes, that should be hard to get but it’s not. It’s the run of the mill items that require so much materials that the game just won’t drop. The items displayed on levels should have higher drop rates instead of flooding you with rank 1 items that you literally get from beating the first level. I typed all that just to say, a heads up to any new players or people considering playing, this game will stall out real quick so decide if it’s worth your time. ### 5/5 — Good addictive game but pvp needs work *2021-03-24, version 2.4.7* Like this game and play it every day. The animations are impressive and strategy are well balanced and they even make the constant grinding aspects of the game fun. However the pvp seems to be plagued with hackers which it seems the team are working at remedying. However the rules for the pvp is also ridiculous. You could have the enemy down to one character, almost dead and have them on the ropes and if the timer runs out you automatically lose. It’s not fun and terribly frustrating. ### 4/5 — Lots to see *2021-03-11, version 2.4.7* It’s obvious that a lot of work went into this game. All of the scenes are fully voice acted (though you can turn it off to save data and space), and there are tons of them—the main story, 8 scenes for each character, and more for each guild. The gameplay itself is good but nothing groundbreaking. Make and power up your teams, go through fights, and hit the occasional wall where you have no choice but to grind for gear/levels until you can beat it. If you haven’t been playing from day 1 you have basically no chance of getting in the higher ranks for PVP arenas to get those characters quickly, which can be a turnoff for new players. Certain characters are notably more powerful than others with similar “power” ranks, though you don’t need to spend money to get them if you’re willing to grind certain stages or save your arena coins for them. Overall, good game—especially if you’re looking for story—but not without flaws ### 4/5 — Subjectively 3, but good quality *2021-02-16, version 2.4.7* There are a few good things about this game, how it gives you skip tickets to quickly farm material, how free to play the game is, the series itself is amazing. Already got to around chapter five. However with crunchyroll being the one to translate it there will be some weird localizations that go against the plot or censorship since the US has a thing against fanservice. It definitely gives thought to mind of how the player feels but now my guild house is just done with buying all the possible decorations, and I’m stuck at chapter 5. I’m in college so I don’t have all the time in the world for games. The good thing though is that this can be linked to your Facebook account and deleted to free up space on any device, while the account and characters still exist. More games need this feature. ### 3/5 — This game is full of hackers! *2021-02-07, version 2.4.6* Highly anticipated game I enjoy it a lot that’s why I give it 3 stars but your game is full of hackers almost 40% of the matches I have been completely whipped out by teams lower than me and not even taking out one of the other teams players they all survive and wipe me out just like that it’s clearly cheating at it full of teams like that 1 and 2 star teams highly ranked and wiping out 3 and 2 star teams seems fishy to me please fix it before people start giving up on pvp ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Great Game, Great Story *2022-03-16, version 2.11.0* As the title says: - The art is great - The voice acting is great - The addition of cutscenes is cool - Gameplay is enjoyable However: - Summons are limited due to quality characters —— Because of this, you’re very prone to having many… many… many… duplicates… To elaborate, you need 1500 free/paid gems to x10 summon (150 for x1). I have 10 characters left to acquire which are 3 stars… so I bit the bullet and paid for 7500 gems (which is more money than I should ever spend on something like this). This granted me a total of x50 summons, and Not. A. Single. three star character dropped. I wouldn’t of even been too mad if it was a duplicate. There is a pity system, however; one duplicate grants you one pity point to acquire a character. But you need 300, and it resets you to 0 after an allotted time. As nice of a game this is, the obvious money grab is the biggest deterrent. I’ll probably be deleting soon once I’m fed up with it. I’d advise not being like me and using your money for something else more important. ### 1/5 — Overly slow, and terrible PvP *2021-04-08, version 2.4.8* Game is way too slow, there’s only 2 banners a month, and 1 Clan Battle + 1 Event a month. This leaves you with large periods of time with nothing new going on. PvP in this game is totally frustrating at the top ranks, with battles feeling like literal coin flips. Attacks and ultimates missing can really make it so you can win/lose with the exact 2 teams fighting. Top rank meta is pretty much filled with stall comps. Better pray that your taunts line up, or you some how manage to kill their Tamaki first or get ready to lose (even if you do many times more dmg, and kill more characters then their team, time up is an instant loss). Princess Arena feels even worse with all the same cancer problems as normal arena, but now with the added perk that you can’t see your opponent’s teams at top ranks. Better pray that you picked the right teams into their’s, or you already wasted one of your 5 daily attempts to figure out their teams. Oh, and even now there are still hackers floating about, so you might just lose ranks to teams you beat. Character designs are cute, but it’s not enough to make up for the pacing. Hopefully Crunchyroll speeds up content. ### 1/5 — Can’t play it and no help from support *2021-03-02, version 2.4.7* I tried playing this game 2 days ago and have been trying everything to get the game to work and did everything I found online that might work but it still comes up with error messages. When I tried to report the problem I went a whole day with no further assistance. I really wanted to try the game, it seemed fun and everyone was saying it was a good game but when I can’t get past the title screen without error messages that doesn’t make it seem very promising. ### 1/5 — Cheaters in arena CR does nothing *2021-02-27, version 2.4.7* Dolphin/small whale here. Currently rank 1 in my battle arena bracket and top 5 in princess arena bracket. Game is good except arena is full of cheaters. For those who haven’t played the game, cheaters can use tools to auto win in arena no matter the power discrepancy and knock you down the bracket. Send support tickets and screenshots to Crunchyroll who claims they’re working on it but don’t actually do anything. If you want to play the game for fun go for it, but if you’re looking to spend take money elsewhere because there’s no competitive drive for the newer players as the new brackets will have cheaters. Wish I didn’t start the game 3 weeks after launch! The older brackets where majority whales reside have less cheating and more competition! It’s funny how much money I’ve saved and taken into other games because of the lack of competitiveness due to cheating. Oh well. ### 1/5 — Disappointing *2021-01-30, version 2.4.5* It didn’t take long for me to decide to uninstall the game. I get that microtransactions are normal in gacha games, but it’s absurd that there are “free gems” and “premium gems” which you pay for with real money, instead of just one gem currency that can be obtained freely or bought. The jump start promo for new players to use the gacha system only applies to people who are willing to spend money upon installing because it uses “premium gems” only. If you are a f2p player, don’t bother with this game. The concept and everything about it is appealing, i admit that, but the gacha system and microtransactions made me uninstall in the first hour. There are other gacha games that are more f2p friendly. ### 1/5 — Disappointed at the release. *2021-01-20, version 2.4.5* I am currently playing in the Chinese version, which I have been playing since the release. Comparing the release of the Chinese version to the current release of the English version, I have to say I am quite disappointed. The Chinese version gives much more resources in the beginning (Gacha alone four times as much) and the translation is much more “cleaner” compared to the English version. But then, I may have to much expectation for Crunchyroll. The English version, as it is now, is quite unfriendly to f2p players compared to the Japanese and Chinese version. So unless Crunchyroll decides to be generous(which is very unlikely considering the past games they’ve licensed), be prepared to spend a few hundred bucks for gacha or constantly restart to get the best initial draws(Makoto and a few other important chara). ### 2/5 — Take Money and UnConnect:REban *2021-07-06, version 2.5.0* "You are banned! We have evidence! Have a nice day and continue to be a fan!" <- automous message *sends in screenshot evidences of not cheating in the way they mentioned "we are done with this matter! have a nice day!" Thanks false ban! Very Cool! Edit: The game itself is great, mostly thanks to Cygames making it. The big problem with the game is how Crunchyroll communicates with the players. The customer support is slow, and whenever there is a problem (ex:False Ban above), and find out it is their own fault, they do not announce the game problem (either in-game news, App Store, or even their Twitter) , or the fact they are working on the issue. What's more, they did not do any compensation about that matter. (I've asked about the compensation, only response was that "they are considering it" and no reply back afterwards) The review would actually be 4-5 star if it wasn't managed by Crunchyroll, or if Crunchyroll actually becomes more communicating and transparent with their Users, like how Cygames, the developer of this game is with their users (on JP) ### 2/5 — Pay 2 win for sure.. *2021-06-07, version 2.4.11* This game is so fun and amazing to play, the story in the actual game and the characters look so good, the fighting is interactive and fun, I overall enjoy playing, but when it comes to character progression and overall progression. 100$ would launch me miles ahead if I would just put money into this game. I saved 12,000 gems for 3 months for the summer event and I didn’t pull not one new summer event character wnd now I probably hav to wait till next summer. I would rather pay for this game, then have micro transactions that allow me to progress in this game. I don’t see myself playing this game much longer due to the fact that I don’t wanna spend money to enjoy myself on this game, and it’s not like 10$ of you really wanna progress I’m this game and get the things you want you HAVE to spend Money. Please make this game more f2p friendly. Crunchy roll you guys make millions already why need more? ### 2/5 — Great game but heavy money machine *2021-04-05, version 2.4.8* I love the game very much including many of cute characters. I love the new story events every once awhile. It is a great game for people who are looking for short stories, Japanese anime voice dialogue and characters fighting monsters. However, the newer characters are very difficult to obtain and upgrade, especially gocha supply. The probability for rate up seems lower than old characters, and easily getting old repeats when the player have not completed collect all in game characters. On top of that the only option to upgrade newer characters are through repeatedly character’s supply points, and maybe random drop from dungeon. The bar is set too high for unlucky players if they are unable to obtain through the probability rate described above, so you might end up spending hundreds of dollars and not getting the new rate up characters which is not really worth it for a 2D game. In addition for in game free gems, you can only obtain them from new story event if you already exhausted all other options (storyline, first complete reward and pvp ranking). I’d love to rewatch the show again from time to time.. ### 2/5 — Bad translation and bad censoring *2021-01-25, version 2.4.5* Crunchyroll is at it again, taking great Japanese games and ruining them with poor translation and forced in censoring. Learn Japanese, pay for a VPN, and you too can enjoy playing the good versions of these games and watching the original version of these anime, when they are released, and only download the bastardized American versions from Crunchyroll in order to see how bad they continue to do and make fun of them. You might hope the Sony buyout would help them improve, but remember they own Funimation and it’s got the same problems there so don’t hold your breath. It only takes 5 years to get a decent level of Japanese by studying with the right effort and methods, and you can be native level in 10 years. If you are in your 20s, you could be native fluent by your 30s and have the rest of your life to enjoy Japanese content, visit or live in Japan, make Japanese friends. Start today! ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — 10 Stars Couldn’t Do This Game Justice *2022-07-18, version 3.5.1* Many of you know the more common JRPGs and Gacha games such as Gacha Life and Genshin Impact. I’ve played both games and although I have enjoyed both and keep both installed I do believe that JRPG and Gacha games are the most frustrating. When I first downloaded this game, I expected it to be more like genshin impact in that we were fighting and running around in real time and there were quests, rather than how it is where you chose when to fight and when to level up and bond with characters. All in all I think that Crunchyroll outdid themselves and that this game is the best mix between JRPGs and Gacha games. It’s not too frustrating and you’re not spending your time just to get weapons you already have a bunch of and can’t sell. I think everyone should at least try this game. (Also as a heads up the tutorial goes pretty slow so just be patient and if you choose to download all the content at once it will take multiple hours) ### 5/5 — Very very good game! Not many negatives *2022-06-24, version 3.4.0* I absolutely love this game. It’s very fun and I enjoy what it has to offer. I really like watching the story and I like that bonding with the characters boost their stats. This game has some mechanics that’s different from typical gacha games such as the divine amulets, the rank equipment and more but I think that’s okay it’s not that frustrating. Even though I do really like this game, the only things I dislike are the divine amulet price increases and useless units. The buying of the divine amulet price increase is going to make it very hard to level characters, I understand why it’s here but that’s definitely going to be a grind. I wish there was an explore feature or run the guild house feature that made some of my chars not useless. I have some characters I’m never going to use so I wish there was an explore or something other gacha games have that let your units do something over time while idle. I still really love the game though, patiently waiting ayumi’s unique equipment! ### 5/5 — A+ *2022-06-14, version 3.4.0* I’ve been playing this game for like 2 years and let me tell you, It. Is. Amazing. The stories are pretty cool and the characters are cute im glad that they don’t dress the girls in like very revealing clothing, im very happy with the game but there is one thing, please make the gacha cheaper or the amount you earn per game higher like maybe 50 gems per game if you get 3 stars, and I think there should be a way to get gems on the same level more times, Thank you I love, love, love this game! P.S I didn’t have to spend any money, but some players like paying for stuff rather than actually playing but I totally agree and I have been tempted to pay for it, but you just got to spend a little bit of time when your trying to get gems. I would say for characters it depends on your luck pretty much. Though I recommend re rolling here and there during the beginning if you don’t like your account. Gems are easy enough to earn and clan battle gives u a decent amount! For me it’s 3000 enough for 2 (10) pulls. You don’t need to spend money to get all the characters. It has some nice features such as clans. One criticism that I have is that it is too difficult to get all of the gear and the hard mode shard drop rate should be higher. ### 5/5 — The greatest gatcha there is *2022-03-25, version 3.0.5* There is something about the game design and execution of priconne that makes the experience of playing any other gatcha game feel lacking. The game is relatively fast to play. Relevant dailies in the game for the day can be completed in less than 8 minutes. This can be mostly be attributed to the very generous amount of skip tickets, which are not a given in most gatchas. Other QOL updates in the future will drastically lower the time spent doing dailies. This is the most important feature of the game. It respects your time. The gameplay itself is pretty straightforward yet there is quite a decent amount of depth within it. Mostly seen in its pvp and endgame pve content. Interfaces are smooth and responsive as well. Priconne is a generous game, and while you can definitely definitely get by without spending a cent. I love the fun fantasy setting, the characters, that I don’t feel bad spending the 8$ monthly pack. It’s a game i’ll play until EoS. ### 5/5 — A Bonsai Tree type of game *2022-03-25, version 3.0.5* This is a great game, truly. it is a high quality gacha with great characters, and a story that has a lot of heart. it starts slow but as time goes on it becomes more satisfying and rewarding, regardless of how much money you put into it. this is a game you can pick up for 5-10 minutes a day once you get situated with the aspects and different mechanics this game has to offer. its like a bonsai tree where growth is slow, but with care it blossoms into something great. ### 5/5 — Day one player *2022-03-24, version 2.11.0* So I have been playing this game since day one and I am glad that I have been playing this game for so long. The game is fun and the story is amazing! I am mostly free to play but I did spend some money on this game but it is totally unnecessary because of all the quests and free gems the game gives you. It also helps that I’m in a really good clan but even then I used to be in a lower tier clan and still never had a complaint! The competitive scene could be better but other than that, I have no complaints and enjoy every minute of this game! The only time I spent any money was for daily Jewels and Skip tickets for a whole month. 50 jewels and a certain amount of tickets will be available and It’s 1500 for a 10x Draw. So it helps but you don’t need to spend money at all to enjoy this game. It’s very generous with the resources you need to progress. I’ve only been playing since the end of Valentine’s Day, I am (at the time of this review) a level 51 and have 23,000 Jewels. Like I said it’s very generous from my experience. This also isn’t a game where you need to worry about “Meta” over Characters you like. Waifu > meta and that’s a fact. ### 5/5 — Cute anime cute characters best game ever *2022-03-09, version 2.11.0* The anime and background and setting of the the game is so cute and cool and the characters are cute and the story of the game is funny and and cute. The event bosses and regular bosses are so cute at least that’s what I think and the course of the story and event stories are great. The races of people are so cool I want to be part of the elven beast or demon tribe if I could.
