It would be great to support over WiFi ### 2/5 — Please fix “open in principle” integration with Safari *2020-04-15* If I want to share a .prd file with someone to test a prototype they are unable to open the file in their Principle app. I want to share a link to the .prd via Dropbox. But when they download the file on mobile safari and tap “Open with Principle” under share, the file does not open. Impossible to share prototypes with team or testers. ### 2/5 — No Wireless connection *2019-09-18* This app doesn’t allow you to connect your designs via Bluetooth. Now that Mac’s are using less cables and more wireless connections it makes it very difficult to view designs on mobile. What should I do??? ### 2/5 — Update Issue- Yellow Boxes around Active Layers *2018-08-07, version 4* Is anyone else getting yellow boxes around active layers?? It is driving me absolutely nuts! Hope you guys can fix asap. It’s happening on both new and old projects, and seems to only happen in this latest updated version of Principle Mirror App. I advise others not to update just yet. Please fix!! ### 3/5 — Good but not quite there *2017-12-29* Good but not quite there. Include ability to test on Apple Watch, you’ll then have a fairly solid app. **Developer response:** Apple Watch does not allow display of custom layers like the kind that you create Principle; this makes it impossible to display Principle designs on an Apple Watch. ### 2/5 — Mirror is not reflective of mac app preview *2017-08-07* After 3.0 update the mirror app doesn't maintain the scroll and page state as shown in web app playback view. Always resets back to zero. It is not a true representation of what is mocked up. Please fix. **Developer response:** This is fixed in the recent updates. I've been using Principle for a while so I know inside out. Therefore the issues I'm having aren't the lack of knowledge but rather being a buggy app. For most people the app might work final but I'm doing quite a complex looking prototype and that's when the issues become more apparent. Other than that, great app and mirror! ### 4/5 — Bigger High Fidelity Prototype Slow The App Down *2017-06-18* Need to be update, it have trouble with larger files, the animation be lagging. ### 2/5 — It doesn't do the job *2017-03-16, version 2.0* The app constantly crashes at various points... sometimes when I start the app, sometimes when I triple-tap to get to the menu, sometimes when I try to save the prototype, a lot of times when I'm simply swiping through the prototype 'pages'. Perhaps it can't handle hi-res images? Nope. Reduced all images to about 500kB each; the .prd file is now only 7MB... still the same. It's a shame. I like Principle, but it's a deal-breaker if I can't easily showcase my work on my iPhone 7 or take it into user testing. ### 2/5 — Can't preview prototype *2016-11-05, version 1.0.8* Love the tool. The space is empty. I have a user study tomorrow and all my prototypes are now unusable. ### 1/5 — Scroll views in the latest update are broken on iPhone X *2018-08-09* I would not recommend upgrading to version 4.1. Scroll views are not working correctly on iPhone X. It is unusable now as scroll views are the most common elements. And yes, yellow boxes should be part of a debugging mode not when you are presenting your prototype. Please fix. **Developer response:** At the time of this review, you had 4.0 installed, not 4.1 like you thought. If you update to 4.1, the scroll views are working properly and there is a preference to turn on and off highlight interactive areas. ### 1/5 — 3 taps to restart isn't working. *2017-08-01, version 2.1* Please fix this. Hoping for a wider array of video support in the future. Unsure which codecs that support transparency are usable in Principle Mirror. I’ve had no luck so far, but it’s honestly the only con I could identify. I don’t think there exists any other software that enables prototyping quite as fast as Principle, or as speedy (high FPS). But my review is about this specific iOS companion. Super easy to use, just plug it in and you're all set. One minor drawback is that it should be easier (or at least more obvious) to the user how to restart the animation. Also wifi connection capabilities would be great, but it still deserves a solid 5 stars! ### 5/5 — Exactly what I hoped for *2016-01-02, version 1.0.1* The mirror works very quickly and shows exactly what I need to develop my app concepts. Animations flow nicely as expected. Also, a great free alternative to the sketch mirror app since I animate in principle anyway.
