### 2/5 — More work than pencil, paper, and book

The UI is cool, but you have to manually set up any content you want to use in the app through individual setup wizards if you want any degree of procedural functionality. You can set up a blank character sheet, but then you basically have to have the character already built out in order to put things where they need to go, and getting it all entered that way is very tedious with the way the UI needs to pull up a fresh dialogue overlay every time you want to adjust a bonus. Had a friend build out two and a half characters in the time it took me to set up one using the blank sheet option.

The UI is 10/10, and is clearly where 100% of the effort went in this app, with little to no attention paid to content or UX. This app feels like a prototype or a proof of concept project, but is not really a practical choice for someone looking for streamlined character management. What’s there is phenomenal, but what’s lacking is profound.

Honestly this app makes no sense and no helpful way to know how to use it. It seems like i have to “make new” for every character building option. As someone new to the game it makes character building harder than it probably should be.

I know this app is still being worked on, but it’s absolutely useless atm. I don’t want to have to fill in every character class, race, feat, etc when I build characters. The only thing it comes with is languages. Honestly this feels like an alpha mode. What’s the point of putting out an app that isn’t even close to a beta mode? The UI is nice, but I think they should have waited to release this. I guess I’ll keep searching for a minimalist pf app…

While this app has a lot of potential, right now it is empty. As an example, there are no classes to select from,.. you must enter the info yourself. Until this is populated with information, I would advise you look elsewhere. Devs, thanks for trying and look forward to when you have something that actually adds value.

Easily the best part (in my opinion) of PrismPathfinder is the freedom to customize anything. It’s basically an empty core rulebook were you fill it out how you want it. PrismPathfinder would’ve better (in my opinion) the best if it had all the information like Pathbuilder but with PrismPathfinder Compendium option to edit anything.

The other prism apps are very good. But this one is a little barren. And no I’m not talking about how you have to download the class or ancestry information from the discord or import it yourself, I can look past that. What I’m talking about is the lack of a proper leveling system making leveling up a very tedious process, traits as a whole do not come with descriptions and are not included in the compendium for editing, and despite the pro version being the same price, this app does not have nearly as many features as the dnd companion app and somehow feels closer to the Call of Cthulhu app (Which is odd, since unlike dnd and pathfinder. Coc doesn’t even technically have combat). I understand that the dnd companion app makes more money, but it would be nice to see some streamlining updates for this app soon.

I love the app but there’s a bug. The item bonus on weapon gives a HUGE number. Once entered the weapon has to be deleted. 
 Workaround is subtracting a huge amount to get the correct modifier

This is my first review, but I’m sending it because I think this will be the future of D&D and Pathfinder character sheets and creation.

This app is VERY bare, but I wouldn’t let that scare you off. I know little about Pathfinder and much more about D&D, however, I decided to input the core ancestries, backgrounds, and classes. I ended up doing almost all of them based of how simple it was to copy and paste the information from online Pathfinder databases.

I think if this app had all of the core elements in the compendium to begin with, this would be the go to for any DM (or GM rather) that is either new to RPGs, or is hosting new-to-RPG players. In my experience, character creation and character sheets have been the most consistent deterrent for new players. I believe that if you take the time as a DM to input some of the compendium information from the core rulebook, this is easily the best and easiest resource for anyone to just start playing and not get confused at a paper character sheet.

Overall, with the developers help with the compendium, this app will be the best one for RPG character creation out there!

As far as content goes, content created in the compendium is shareable so I would beg you, pretty pretty pretty please to visit our discord channel and share any content that you have created so that we can start creating a batch of core content to include with the app on first install. Has potential on par with the 5E version, but is currently bugged. It crashes on character creation. I would love to see this receive an update, but with the last version being from 2 years ago I can’t help but think it has been abandoned.

I like the layout, and it will be good to use, but the pathfinder character creation doesn’t give you anything past character stats. No races, classes, etc. would love to use it when it’s more polished.

At the moment I can’t select anything and it keeps saying it couldn’t find what I was looking for. It doesn’t matter which button I tap. However I know this developer is capable of wonderful sheet builder apps so I’m guessing it’s a bug. Looking forward to the update that fixes it so I can build my character properly :)

So the basics and bones of this app are great. UI is very smooth and intuitive, and it has appealing graphics. 

Only problem is it’s currently empty of content, which I get and have seen that they are currently working on it. Once at least the core role book material is uploaded I will be making this review 5*s.

There is one problem that I do hope gets fixed soon other than lack of content. There doesn’t appear to be any “level up” feature that most other apps have. And when I manually changed my level, I couldn’t seem to add next level features I had added to the compendium. In stead it wanted me to just write it in again, and without all the usual fancy menus.

This app is pretty nice compared to alot of other character sheet apps. It is available on iOS and MacOS which is particularly nice. Major problems include a lack of feature discovery and missing cloud sync or functional imports. I'd really like to design a character on my MacBook and then use it with my iPhone when playing. Trying to add a character image from a file causes the app to freeze. 

I want to use this, but I am concerned it ends up abandoned.

**Developer response:** Hello Chavalche, Thanks for leaving a review! So our goal with this app is to add things little by little. Our latest updates being character creation and compendium, which are huge leaps forward in functionality. With that foundation in place, we should be able to start doing things like icloud backups. As far as the character image goes, I will look into that for you, thank you for reporting the issue.
