Building and managing a prison from scratch is super satisfying, and the game offers a surprising amount of depth for mobile. The art style is cool, and the dark humor keeps things interesting. BUT LET’S BE REAL — this app hasn’t been updated in forever! Half the features from the PC and console versions are missing. Where are the gangs? The parole system? Better building tools? Even simple quality-of-life fixes are just ignored. Worse, the interface is barely usable on mobile. Trying to select small items is frustrating, and it lags badly with bigger prisons. If you’re managing 100+ inmates, expect constant freezing. Also, most of the core content is locked behind paywalls. Want to hire psychologists or expand your land? Hope you’re ready to drop some cash. It’s like running a prison where YOU’RE the one getting nickel-and-dimed. 📢 This game has potential — LOTS of it — but it desperately needs a major update. New features, bug fixes, and UI improvements. Until then, it feels like the devs just threw it on the App Store and walked away. 🛠️ Update it. Fix it. However for me at least I’m stuck in trial mode as nothing else loads I can’t buy the full game or anything just stuck loading. When offline the next levels load but I can’t do anything because I’m offline. The game has been abandoned for years and bugs like this may effect you and will most likely never be patch. It’s a shame, because i love playing this game on my PC, but sometimes I don’t really feel like going on it, y’know? Prison Architect, I feel like, would be perfect as a mobile game, if done right. While I understand that there’s a Prison Architect 2 coming out, Paradox doesn’t exactly have a great track record with “sequel” games. The only one they’ve done decently is Crusader Kings. It’s a shame because I’d love to be able to play on the go. But lugging around a nearly 8lb gaming laptop isn’t exactly “on the go”, especially if you’re just looking to pass the time on public transit, your break at work, or a long car ride. Not that I think they care, but Paradox should try to breathe some life back into this. I know I’d be willing to pay for the game again, just to have it on mobile.
