### 2/5 — Outdated

*2026-05-18*

The twitter domain is outdated.

### 1/5 — Pointless

*2025-05-17*

Hasn't been updated in forever so pretty much all the redirects are broken, and you can't add custom redirects to fix that.

### 1/5 — Doesn‘t work for x.com

*2025-04-27*

That was the primary reason I wanted to use the app

### 2/5 — Unmaintained by Developer

*2025-01-23*

I bought this extension because I don’t want to use Twitter and I wanted something that would redirect any Twitter link to the corresponding Nitter link. While the extension still technically works, the dev hasn’t updated the app in ~2 years which means the Nitter instances it points to no longer function and users can’t manually enter alternate Nitter instances. I considered submitting a PR to update the Nitter instances list but the devs haven’t even accepted a simple PR that would update their extension to work for x.com links.

### 1/5 — Abandoned - doesn’t work on X

*2024-12-07*

Everything is hardcoded, and it’s abandoned. Useless

### 5/5 — Help

*2024-10-26*

This works perfectly as intended. However, I lots of the instances are outdated and I can’t figure out how to add custom ones. In the app’s instance settings, there are only options to change from the provided preconfigured instances. Neither can I find anywhere to add custom instances in Settings>Apps>Safari>Extensions>PrivacyRedirect.

### 2/5 — Redirects only work intermittently

*2024-04-16*

I have my own setting for the Reddit re-direct and it only works some of the time. Other times it just stays on reddits website instead of performing the re-direct. Hopefully it can be updated?

### 1/5 — Very much out of date, redirects do not function properly.

*2024-02-22*

Please release some sort of update.

### 1/5 — Shockingly Bad to Setup

*2024-02-13*

The instructions are very simple- enable a few configuration then “Allow in every website”..

Then the horror realisation that the list contains what looks like 500 websites and all have to be clicked individually without any option for a group selection.

It is Tuesday night, I would have to keep
Clicking til Thursday lunchtime..

Fellaciously Shocking!

### 4/5 — Great

*2024-02-09*

I like the extension, though there is only one problem; the redirect only occurs when the page of the website (e.g reddit) is fully loaded, which does compromise privacy. This is the only thing stopping the extension from receiving a 5 star.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.9.2 — 2023-01-25

The primordial quagmire—the tohu va-vohu—of frontend instances is shifting, changing, never still. Look away and its glittering mass will morph and take on new forms. Or perhaps it was always this way? It's difficult to tell.

We've updated the list of instances.

### 1.9.1 — 2022-11-05

Hotfix: add support for more IMDB subdomains

(Normally these changelogs are much longer; take some of the time you've saved here to listen to Her Loss)

### 1.9.0 — 2022-10-29

It's a big day in the world of redirects, and finally doing things that users have requested.

catwithbanana and Samlane86 have used two of their three wishes, and Privacy Redirect now supports:
• Quora to Quetre redirects
• IMDB to LibremDB redirects

In a shocking all-time first, we're also announcing the removal of Bibliogram redirects. This is a somber time for us all. For more, please read the official announcement: https://cadence.moe/blog/2022-09-01-discontinuing-bibliogram

### 1.6.3 — 2022-08-26

Hello! It's definitely been a normal time in between updates, I'm sure.

In this update, we have:
• no more snopyta invidious (#40)
• search redirects now work from duckduckgo as well (#28)
• future-proofed the app against quantum extraterrestrials (no issue number)
• get rid of "for Safari" pretty much everywhere (#19) (the return of the issue numbers)
• various bugs with default domain names embarrassed me really bad and so i got rid of them
• startpage search redirects work like really really well now
• also now there are post-install instructions for n00bs

Honestly I would be sad if I didn't mention commit a562924, perhaps my favorite in the project's history it's really so satisfying I highly recommend you check it out: https://github.com/smmr-software/privacy-redirect-safari/commit/a5629240d181b8ddb77e2372a5cf68910f991277

### 1.4.2 — 2022-05-08

When it comes to updates, we here at SMMR Software like to go big.

New services to redirect.
Radical new designs.
Warp drives.
Clean energy using cosmic background radiation.

This update is no different. We have:
• standardized section names on the instance view
• added support for m.imgur.com

Have fun.
