### 3/5 — Great until recently

*2026-08-05, version 3.3.29*

Chronically denies transactions for not enough funds. Yet there are PLENTY of funds available. Worked great until about 30’days ago. You can’t get support—-it’s a chat bot and a bunch of articles. Tried deleting and redoing connection; tried reinstalling app. Over it. Going back to credit cards.

### 4/5 — Awesome Service but failing to be real time

*2026-02-26, version 3.3.19*

So the application is a great use for every day I have more than one bank account linked to it as a source that I can set certain bank accounts for certain cards and uses. I really love this app so much. It’s very convenient and very secure. I don’t mind the concept of ACH. It makes me have more responsibility not to overspend what I have. It makes me check my accounts and be more conscientious the problem I have is how the balance update works, so let’s say I have three dollars in the account and I add another five dollars it takes forever to update and it will still decline me if I try to spend eight dollars it goes by the ledger balance on the bank account and it takes one to for the partner that connects the application securely to your bank to go through, which is called plaid I wish there was a way to manually refresh balances or have them put some type of code and trigger on it when a card is to be used it should refresh the balance this way there’s more accuracy instead of getting unnecessary declined because it didn’t update the balance from the partner or maybe the app should even grant a credit line so that way it can basically allow us to use what is on the account if it’s not showing up to 1 to 3 days it would just pay itself back so those are two ideas. I’m gonna send the information I was able to find about balance refresh and loading for real time. access accessibility to the information so that way there’s no delay. For people living paycheck the paycheck this app would probably not be the best solution for them. and the reason I say is because if you get your paycheck on Wednesday or say even Friday, you have to wait 1 to 3 business days for the ledger balance to reflect on that.

### 1/5 — Card getting declined

*2026-02-09, version 3.3.17*

My card is declined and they said that I’ve hit the max for a retailer. They suck!! You’ve lost a user.

### 1/5 — Used to be great

*2026-01-22, version 3.3.15*

A few years ago this app was great. I don't recall super intense verification requirements to create an account. Now they ask everything, full name, address, phone number, dob, and even ssn which is ridiculous, why would anyone sign up for this garbage. You might as well open a legitimate bank account with virtual cards and use those. 1 star company should cease to exist

### 1/5 — Lame

*2026-01-10, version 3.3.15*

The app is lame. It clearly built some reputation, now you get little to nothing from it. I recommend Citi’s free virtual card tool that earns the same good rewards as your credit card. Citi does not require a bunch of extra BS verification and bank linking like Privacy does.

### 1/5 — Fake

*2026-01-08, version 3.3.13*

What is privacy if need to give all personal info at first run

### 1/5 — No phone support

*2025-12-31, version 3.3.13*

All support is email or automated chat bot. Unfortunately none of the plans have phone support with a real person

### 1/5 — The card don’t work

*2025-12-25, version 3.3.13*

The cards they give you do not work. They decline every single time. And they don’t have support to help you with anything. Someone needs to come up with a better platform than this

### 1/5 — Too shady

*2025-12-20, version 3.3.13*

I tried to sign up for your service and it was uncomfortable to say the least. Buttons were pressed but nothing happened. Oh, but the birthday and SS number worked perfectly.
I don’t trust you. What I have experienced thus far makes me feel like this is a scam. Not to mention there is no one to email or call for support. You’d think a legitimate service that handles peoples finances would have an excellent support site.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work with Major Debit Cards

*2025-12-18, version 3.3.13*

The whole purpose of the app, which is to proxy debit or credit card numbers, is kind of moot when you don’t support any of the major debit cards. Doesn’t work with cards from Chime, Venmo, or Cash app. Also doesn’t work with my local credit union card. Four strikes.

### 1/5 — Issue with adding funding source

*2025-11-19, version 3.3.11*

I’m unable to add my funding source for some reason and that’s preventing me from creating new cards.

### 1/5 — Is anyone there?

*2025-11-10, version 3.3.11*

I’ve been waiting for my account to be reviewed. It’s been over two years

### 1/5 — Privacy more like anti privacy

*2025-10-19, version 3.3.11*

This is garbage when i first signed up a couple years ago they took my id and stuff but rejected my account for some reason, havent ever had an issue with kyc documents on other sites dont know why this would give me an issue.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — It don’t work

*2026-08-07, version 3.3.29*

It’s don’t work I get stuck in a never ending cycle of verification, and it never ends

### 1/5 — DO NOT GIVE YOUR INFO

*2026-08-06, version 3.3.29*

Spam calls and texts multiple times a day since i gave these hacks my info also cant use my debit card. Absolutely worthless do not give these bums your info

### 1/5 — No Customer Service

*2026-08-01, version 3.3.29*

I’d give them 0 stars if I could. I don’t think they have a customer service department. They don’t respond to emails

### 1/5 — Filth

*2026-07-22, version 3.3.29*

I couldn’t think of a more hypocritical thing to call this company. Immediately after sign up asks for PII through Persona.

### 1/5 — More like Less privacy.com

*2026-07-11, version 3.3.28*

This app takes so much data and then doesn’t even have the onboarding section seamless.

It takes 5 hours to go through a new account setup, did I mention the process of Privacy… is to collect ALL of your info - personal (all of it it needs for the SUPER SUPREME KYC it needs to be a app)

So this app is outdated tech. Most banks have this beat with built-in virtual cards.

This app also has the clunkiest very non intuitive design AI could make a better app than this/ it doesn’t even let you go back during the setup part..

Good luck friends. This isn’t privacy this is - essentially the opposite of it.

### 1/5 — Trash

*2026-07-08, version 3.3.28*

Poor customer service, not recommended

### 1/5 — Thieves

*2026-06-21, version 3.3.28*

Declined a merchant locked purchase, then immediately accepted the purchase AT A HIGHER PRICE. “Support” claimed it wasn’t the same merchant, it was and it went thorough at a higher price on the merchants second attempt seconds later, and they told me to click something that didn’t exist to fix it. They told me they would give me a $5 credit for the trouble their incompetence caused. They did NOT. I replied, they were silent. I eventually refunded my purchase to buy it AGAIN on a real HONEST card. The real price was refunded, but the extra HIGHER price was not. It’s been a week and NOTHING has changed and THEY are keeping that extra HIGHER charge that apparently THEY snuck in to steal from me since the merchant NEVER charged that and refunded everything they took. Avoid these thieving, lying criminals at all costs. They will be reported at several more places for their crimes.

### 1/5 — "Account in Review" for a week

*2026-06-15, version 3.3.28*

My account has been stuck in "account in review" mode for a week now. I work for a bank so I know it does not take this long to check into someone's financial history with other institutions or even OFAC. I don't know what the hold up was but I gave up and closed my account.

### 1/5 — Privacy.com doesn't adhere to privacy at all.

*2026-05-22, version 3.3.26*

The whole point of this is supposed to be about privacy. First thing I'm asked is to give my personal information, including the last 4 of my social... Then when this app magically 'can't verify my identity,' it asks for my full social security number... Uh, no. You don't need that or any of my personal information unless you're looking to sell it.
Privacy.com isn't about privacy at all, it's about data brokering.

### 1/5 — Account locked for days over a simple payment retry

*2026-05-12, version 3.3.22*

I’ve been a Privacy.com user for about two weeks. A few days ago, they couldn’t process a charge against my bank account, so they paused my account — fair enough, that happens. I logged into the app right away, approved a retry of the charge, and assumed it would be resolved quickly.

That was two days ago. My account is still paused. Every single one of my virtual cards is being declined. I can’t use the product at all.

The core promise of Privacy.com is that you create virtual cards so you don’t have to worry about your real card being compromised or misused. But if a routine billing hiccup can lock you out of all your cards for days with no clear timeline for resolution, you’re trading one risk for another — the risk that you’ll be unable to make purchases when you need to.

A payment retry should take minutes, not days. There’s no ETA shown in the app, no explanation of what’s happening, and no way to escalate. For a product that positions itself as a privacy and security tool, locking users out of all their cards with zero communication is a serious reliability problem.

Great concept. Needs much better handling of account recovery before I can trust it for real-world use.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing customer support!

*2026-05-22, version 3.3.26*

I’ve had an account for several years. Amazing service and product. Quit using for a couple years, had issues getting back into my account. I emailed support and they helped friendly, efficiently. 5 stars for sure for this company.

### 5/5 — The gold standard!

*2026-05-15, version 3.3.26*

This app is a lifesaver and then some, it prevents greedy subscription charges from taking your money! You can pause cards create new ones and it's legit, it makes it so your privacy stays with your original funding source! The best app ever! I'm shocked more people don't know about it. The customer service is even better!

### 5/5 — I love this app

*2026-04-01, version 3.3.19*

One of the BEST apps on the market.

### 5/5 — Very useful

*2026-03-02, version 3.3.19*

I’ve been using privacy cards for years with burner cards for sites with a set spend limit so when i say i’m spending $55, that’s all that can be charged. Peace of mind from using privacy cards is so relieving to have.

### 5/5 — Saved me from Crunch Gym

*2025-12-24, version 3.3.13*

Used this app specifically for my Gym membership with Crunch, when i was moving to a different city i went in person to cancel my gym membership and the person there said i was all set and my membership cancelled. After i walked out out i turned the card i was using from this app off. The following month i get a notification from Privacy saying Crunch tried to charge my card again! And the app did was it was made for and stopped it from being charged. I called crunch and told them i had canceled my membership and they practically brushed me off saying i needed to pay my current “past due” bill to cancel my membership. Its been 3 months now and they keep trying to charge me 3-4 times a month and Privacy keep blocking them!! Not bad for a free service. I Highly recommend it for gym membership!

### 5/5 — Absolutely worth it.

*2025-11-06, version 3.3.11*

I have been using this for a while now mostly for my subscriptions. Today they just blocked a $93 charge that was from a service I don’t want to renew. THANK YOU Privacy.com!

### 5/5 — PLEASE add Cleo card support

*2025-10-08, version 3.3.11*

Love this app. It’s given me peace of mind just being able to manage the mess of online payments and set limits for peace of mind, use burners when I need to, etc pretty good imo. Just I use another app called Cleo that you can fill up a physical card and it helps build credit would super love if privacy.com supported this card because I had trouble adding it 🙏

### 5/5 — Perfect until 3.3.11 update

*2025-09-16, version 3.3.11*

I’ve been using Privacy for maybe 3 yrs now. Love it and all the features that not only keep my funds safe but also gives me the snapshot I need of my spending habits. Since the update to 3.3.11, the transactions list isn’t showing the statuses like it used to on the right side. Where’s the “Pending”, “Settling”, and “Settled” statuses?

I now have to make a few extra clicks: first on the card, then scroll down to the transaction and click on that to see the status. My viewpoint is the devs broke something. Some cards I prefer to put on Pause once a charge is settled which was so easy to see for the past 3 yrs until the 3.3.11 update. I hope you fix this. Please.

### 5/5 — A must have

*2025-07-27, version 3.3.7*

This app is has to be one of the most essential financial apps on my phone. I use a Privacy card for every internet transaction I do. Especially for this that have a subscription or reoccurring charge. This app gives you full control of those. You can chose if or when you want to be charged. No more surprise charges because you forgot to cancel a trial. They even do charge backs and disputes. I love how each card is locked to a merchant. I have had fraud attempts several times. These cards saved me. I’ll always use these cards.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2025-04-29, version 3.3.4*

User friendly
