I don’t recall how much it was at the time, only that it included features like ad free and multiple folders. Today I opened the app to ads and a warning that my subscription expired. This is an app I’ve really loved, talked highly about, and have trusted with hundreds of photos of a deceased pet I am horrified of losing. So it’s incredibly upsetting to see it fall so hard as to not honor past purchases. If I could go back in time, I wouldn’t have ever paid a cent knowing it wouldn’t be honored. ### 1/5 — Way Too Many Ads *2026-08-17, version 25.6* I understand how this app works, and much of their sponsors are through ads. However the amount of ads - is completely unnecessary. if you scroll through a handful of images and watch a video, you immediately get an add for something completely irrelevant. it’s a “safe” place to store sensitive content, but not the only place. ### 1/5 — forgot passcode; photos not retrievable *2026-08-16, version 25.6* all data lost; would not recommend. Just use Apple’s Hidden Photos album (requires Face ID) ### 1/5 — Don’t lose your photo. *2026-08-15, version 25.6* This is the second time I have used this app and the second time I have lost photos I can’t get back. I paid the year fee, then when it was time to renew I decided to do monthly. I can’t even open the app. ### 1/5 — Scam app *2026-08-12, version 25.6* I already paid for the yearly plan which apparently gives you (1,000 GIGABYTES) but the app hasn’t even synced one video yet. That one video is over half way synced and the cloud storage usage says just over 3 gigabytes. It’s now telling me the cloud storage is full. HOW CAN THE CLOUD STORAGE BE FULL IF IT ONLY SYNCED 3 GIGABYTES OF A VIDEO!? It has now stopped syncing. I can even verify I have the yearly plan because it says it in my settings under SUBSCRIPTIONS! I was literally adding photos this morning when, all of a sudden, the app told me that my Premium subscription had expired. Now I’m being given three different options to renew/upgrade — monthly, yearly, or through the App Store — but NONE OF THEM WORK. Every time I select an option, I get an error. The biggest problem is that I CANNOT EVEN ACCESS THE PHOTOS I ALREADY HAVE STORED IN THIS APP. These are my personal photos that I have trusted this app with for over a decade. I also do not understand why I am suddenly being asked to pay again in the first place. When I originally paid for this app years ago, my understanding was that I purchased the version that did not require an ongoing subscription. Now, years later, I’m apparently being told my “Premium” access is gone and I need to pay again — AND the app won’t even let me purchase whatever it is asking me to purchase. What exactly changed? Why am I being locked out of photos that I have already stored in an app I’ve used since 2012? At the very least, I should be able to access my existing photos, and if you’re going to require some new subscription model, the purchase/restore process needs to actually work. This is incredibly frustrating and completely unacceptable. I trusted this app with years of personal photos, and now I can’t access them or even resolve the issue through the options the app provides.
