Took the written 10/2024 and I’d say only ~40% of the questions I saw were in this app. The app is great for studying and making sure you understand the format and how to solve the real questions, but DO NOT just memorize these answers because you will fail the written. ### 4/5 — Passed my PAR exam with 93% *2022-06-29* I used the app a lot, along with their free test prep on their website. So some reason the app kept giving me repeat questions on the test. So I supplemented my studies with their website test and used the Gleim study book. Between those three sources I had a very well grounded study guide to accompany my online ground school from Jeppesen. ### 5/5 — Written test (5/2022) *2022-06-05, version 3.6.3* This app is good! I got 97% just by studying through this app. There were like 3-5 questions that I did not see in this app that were on my test, but this app gives you enough background knowledge that you can answer any question. You are good to take the test if you consistently score 90+ on practice tests. ### 5/5 — Word for Word FAA Questions *2022-03-18* As of 2022 this app has questions straight out of the ASA PPL study book. These questions are word for word used on the FAA written test, and makes it super easy to pass. I promise you, if you can go through this app and answer every question correctly, you’ll ace your FAA written exam. Doesn’t get any easier than this. ### 4/5 — Useful and well designed- still no match for GLEIM *2022-02-16* This app should be used as a supplement for the GLEIM book, when you don’t have the book, use this app, but otherwise, the book would be the way to go. One thing that’s nice about this app is that the explanations for each answer are easier to understand, however less technical. Overall though, much better than any other apps. ### 5/5 — STUDIED ONE DAY AND PASSED THE NEXT *2022-01-31* I legitimately studied on a Sunday and passed on a Monday. Granted I did have some background knowledge of the PAR questions before I purchased the app, but never actually studied. Got this app, did the practice exams over and over for 4 to 5 hours on Sunday and took the written at 930am on Monday, and passed! ### 5/5 — Very Useful APP *2021-04-10, version 3.6.1* For the price this is a very nice FAA Test Prep APP for private pilot. It is very similar to Sporty’s online FAA test prep or Gleim’s online FAA test prep. I am currently using Gleim’s FAA test prep; the questions in this app are the same or very similar. The online versions give you better control and options for testing yourself on missed and flag questions. I use this app on an iPad and it works very nicely, maps, charts and chart supplements are easy to read. Is is also very useful to purchase the “Airmen Knowledge Testing Supplement for Sport Pilot, Recreational Pilot, Remote Pilot, and Private Pilot” (FAA-CT-8080-2H, or most current version). The testing supplement has all of the maps, charts and chart supplements that you will use on the test. It is a great complement to either the iPad and especially the iPhone. One area where this app suffers is there is no way to test yourself on only flagged questions. This app needs to aggregate flagged questions within each section to easily access them for review or for testing. ### 5/5 — Study Buddy is Awesome *2021-02-25, version 3.6* I used study buddy to prepare for my written exam and got a 90%. I usually do nit do well on exams, but this app had me well prepared for the exam. I recommend using a device larger than a cell phone. I used this app to do the majority of my studying. It helped tremendously. ### 5/5 — Passed with 87% today!! *2020-02-26* Most of my studies were with this app. 80% sporty’s 20% FARAIM and PHAK. Once I was consistently scoring above 90% on the practice exams my instructor endorsed me and I scheduled the real exam. Many questions were close to the ones on this app. -The difficulty comes when you try to determine distance on the sectionals within the app on an iPhone screen. Also, shooting multiple radials to find a specific point. Would have been a bit easier if I had a tablet. Started private pilot training for airplane single engine land nine years after my last military helicopter flight. This program was a great refresher/review of topics I was required to know but not necessarily receiving instruction on based on my past experience. I got a 75 on my real exam but was constantly getting 95-100 on sportys. ### 1/5 — Worthless *2024-04-02, version 3.6.7* I completed this app all 1000 questions took several test prep questions and feel confident to take the real exam how ever this app does not give you a endorsement. You have to purchase the full course on Sporty’s web page. If you purchase on the web page you don’t need this app. So the app is worthless and a waste of time. You will have to use this app, google and YouTube to fully understand it. It works very well on my tablet, but does not save my progress at all on my phone. I have to start all over again and I cant keep track like I can on my tablet. Good luck everyone ### 5/5 — Affordable Prep with Value *2025-09-28* Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on courses, studying through the question banks (Learning Mode) helped me achieve what I needed through my PPL written journey. I loved the different mode, especially with options to take simulated tests and ability to review both Learning & Test sessions I had completed. While the explanations aren’t perfect, given the price, this app is a great self-studying tool. ### 5/5 — Really appreciate the app! *2025-06-16, version 3.10* This app was great practice for the PAR exam, along with some studying from the PHAK (which I understand you can download for free from the FAA if you don’t want a physical book), and some further research on how to do calculations with the help of the AI on the internet. I would recommend picking 1 topic at a time in learning mode, as well as making notes as you continue to do your own research on the topics in the PHAK. So don’t try to cover all topics in one day though, as there are over 1000 questions in the question bank. Once you feel confident, give the test mode a go and just keep at it. Give yourself enough time to prepare for the test as well. This is for the foundation of your future, so it’s well worth investing in. I studied 2-5 hours almost everyday for about 3 weeks and passed the test first time around, so I’m sure most people will be able to succeed if they put in the effort. Lastly, get yourself a e6b or electronic flight computer, a physical sectional chart, and some scratch paper.
