Would be nice if you could rotate them too. However, the reason I’m uninstalling is simply that even in the paid version there aren’t enough plants. It would be so easy to have a much larger selection and that would make this usable. ### 1/5 — Hard to use *2020-05-11, version 1.9.2* The most frustrating this about this app is the shaping tool, it is an impractical design and is impossible to use. I can't do the rest of my yard because of how bad the grass looks. Not all lawns have 90 degree corners. Why isn't there an undo button? I have had to delete and restart the project constantly because the lack of an undo last move option, am I supposed to save it every time I add something? The app has also crashed a number of times the first day that I have had it. There is also an ad banner across the bottom of the screen even after you pay $15. If I add an image to the picture the menu pops up three more times before it actually let you add it to the picture. No rotation options. Tried to save the design and it errors out, now won’t open back up. The simple function of taking a picture to begin with doesn’t work, just shows a blank screen. Re sizing the plants is fiddly and annoying, the app kept resizing the whole garden. I figured the plants in the free app would work, but there are fewer than a dozen to choose from. Then I look at the reviews and people who paid the $15 complain about the limited selection. This app is crap! ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2017-08-03, version 1.9.2* I'm sad to say, I've been having a very hard time with this app, its looks, easy and fun, but it has crashed on me, it doesn't automatically save, it's not super user friendly, lots of pop ups, lots of ads, and no easy answer on how to add a background picture once the project has been opened, no way that I can see to add or delete a background picture... I hope they change this ad, I'd love to update my review ### 1/5 — Don't even try *2017-07-15, version 1.9.2* I just downloaded and upgraded this app and was throughly disappointed. I could not find over half of the plants I wanted and these were ones that are common to my location. The fact that you pay for a program usually means you are free from adds. Not this one. There is a constant add running on the bottom of the screen. Don't do it. ### 4/5 — Great planning tool! *2017-06-26, version 1.9.2* I love this app. The library is not extensive it's true, but they have a lot of the plants that are very common. $15 is not a lot for me. I have payed $50 for computer programs that were similar that had a larger library. It was so helpful to be able to visualize what it would all look like! I used my IPad and am able to see great detail. Just took a picture of my yard and started a project, add the plants and drag and drop them in the photos. Can outline an area to define grass or planting beds. So easy. The only drawback for me is it has a glitch and will randomly exit out of your project so anything unsaved will be lost. I just learned to save everything immediately after making any changes. It would be awesome if they added more plants to their library and made it usable for deck planning too. ### 1/5 — Don't waste your money *2017-03-27, version 1.9.2* Hard to use poor quality and doesn't do what it lists. I must delete existing project, start a new project to add a different photo. Limited and generic. Retail sections work well to find landscapers on other side of country. Most sections are empty unless you buy the app so you have no idea whether it would be useful unless you spend money. Cute opening graphics do not help plan yards at all. Cumbersome to edit photos, even from iPhone 6. Difficult to customize for my location to plan for climate, terrains, soil, sun exposure, and appropriate plants. I am willing to pay for a useful app but this free version does not propel me to purchase since it lacks in all areas. ### 1/5 — Couldn't even start my design... *2016-06-27, version 1.9.2* When I started my project, I chose to upload an a photo when prompted. My photo never appeared- even after multiple attempts. ### 1/5 — Holy Awful App! *2016-06-17, version 1.9.2* Wow. I can't say enough about how user UNfriendly this app is. I'm actually shocked that Apple let this get as far as the App Store. ### 1/5 — Don't waste your time. *2016-05-30, version 1.9.2* Like most of these FREE spam apps as I call them. This is no exception, has about 5 items to choose from unless you buy the rip off full version. Even then your paying for a few clip arts for an app that doesn't work very well. ### 2/5 — Bummer *2016-05-15, version 1.9.2* Not easy to use, couldn't find obvious items like help button or how to add a picture to a project after you add plants. Overall a disappointment. I would have gladly paid &14.99 for more plants but the app is not user friendly. ### 2/5 — Beware of $15 in app purchase. *2016-05-02, version 1.9.2* The app seems easy enough, at first. You can upload a photo of your home or landscape, but then they want $15 to access a library of plant images, that are not very extensive. Then you have to guess how to scale them to your image because it give you no information on plant sizes or whether they are sun or shade plants. Every time you try to scale a plant or move it around, you end up dragging your background around instead. Unless you know your plants, this is not a great app for the beginning gardner or home owner who just wants to lay out landscaping around their house. I have much better luck using Better Homes and Gardens website, personally. ### 4/5 — Very helpful app *2016-03-30, version 1.9.1* I have used this app with the additional $14.99 plant image library and found it to be quite helpful for home landscape design. The purchased image library is limited but still very useful if plants are selected based on their type (e.g., shrub) and form (e.g., pyramidal-shaped or mound-shaped) rather than their specific cultivar. I have found the app to be easy to use because of the help and tips it provides. The app would be even better with a ruler that could be used to calibrate the sizes of the selected plants with that of the landscape. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Not workable *2024-10-31, version 2.0* The only thing this app allowed me to do was ‘start projects’ aka download a photo of my yard and then just stare at it as ads loaded along the bottom of the screen. I used example version to learn to operate and then upfrade with real plants i’ll be using but wow. Horrible images. Zoom in and out was horrible. To shape pavers where needed was a mess. You download the app and it is useless unless you pay the $15. While it is not a problem to pay to use an app. This makes no sense to pretend there is anything on the free version. It is empty. The one page it opens just asks you to purchase. There is no free trial to first test if you even like the app. I didnt feel like paying $15 for an app that is already misleading on download. How am I even gonna know it is worth the price?
