I noticed very quickly due to a message popping up on my screen so I quickly repaired it. Because of this I failed the exam because the conditions were not met. Absolute joke! ### 1/5 — Not reliable *2024-06-05* I’m not sure why any organization would use such a faulty app. Taking a test for a certification is already nerve-wracking enough without having to worry about faulty technology. I tried to take my WSET Level 1 Exam today and I followed the preparation instructions to a T. I updated to the latest version of this app before I took my exam. I was about 7 questions into the exam and I received a notification on my computer that the app disconnected from my phone. I didn’t know what to do so I just exited out of my exam. I tried to start it over again but I couldn’t generate a new QR code from ProctorExam. I guess I’ll just have to try and take the test again once I hear back from them. It first off takes 40 min off of my exam time along with not allowing me to download a answer booklet. This was only for a mock but my god as this a bad bad experience. But it does not support my device (Chromebook) which was a bit annoying, looking for another device with Windows OS. ### 1/5 — Laggy app that crashed *2024-03-23, version 8.1.2* I had to use this garbage spying app for an exam. Despite taking two separate exams with the app in the exact same conditions, one exam was invalidated for absolutely no reason other than the phone didn’t sync properly to the desktop and so it had to be set up again. At this point one would assume that the reason they are recording your screen is to make sure the exam is not open, but whatever genius sits behind the video and watches you can’t use their brain cells to put two and two together. This adds to the stress and anxiety of having to resist an exam in the exact same conditions again and hope that this time the app doesn’t freeze and lag. Absolutely horrific piece of equipment and institutions should be ashamed to use it. ### 1/5 — Terrible experience *2024-02-20, version 8.1.2* I took a test this morning, the camera of the app always rotated 90 degrees to the right. I don’t know why. It made my test fulfill with uncertainty, as I am not quite sure whether the monitor is valid. Besides, the connection is also quite terrible, I push myself to finish the test very quickly for I am so worried about it disconnected the internet. Just before the beginning of the test, it get disconnected three times. ### 1/5 — Worst App *2023-12-06, version 8.1.2* This is a terrible App I never put reviews normally but this app is just useless and at a time when it should be 100% and no issues when taking an exam. I would give a zero if I could it has caused me so much upset and stress just trying to get in I went through all the necessary checks before hand, worked no issue. On the day of the Exam it did not work when trying to get into the exam, I did the QR code on minute it worked the next it didn't. They tried to blame internet connection - no issues full download and upload speed then when I finally got in after trying for over an hour and asking advisor in chat for help I could not take the exam as it was too late !! My computer wouldn’t work and my camera wasn’t suitable although I had went through check a few days earlier. I was lucky to phone highfield the company who set the exam and the lady was amazing helping me get set up . Avoid if you have any option. *2023-05-08, version 8.0.1* I had to sit an exam online using this app and it’s web-browser software. It crashed in the last 5 minutes as I was checking my answers, and voided my exam results due to this failure in recording. If you’re doing an online course, you may also incur a resit or void fee due to situations like this. To say it’s terrible is nothing short of an understatement. Even aside from such failings, the app has a horrific user interface and is extremely unpleasant to use. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Update: they ACTUALLY disqualified me over some nonsense. Disgusting, unethical software! 🤮 *2026-07-23, version 9.1.0* To be honest, the invigilator was not that bad as a person, but this whole instrusive software and the policies these people have are outrageous. Very unethical and disgusting. I didn’t even want to do this exam online or install this app. I was forced to because I already paid for my course. I managed to get a full refund after blowing up on the company that put me through this in the first place. This garbage app wasted my time and EVEN THEY ADMITTED that they couldn’t be sure I was cheating in my exam, but disqualified me anyway. A few days later I passed a much harder exam with FULL MARKS, physically at a centre and under supervision. Contacted support twice but somehow the issue is always with me. I was told to find another phone by the first and a new laptop and internet connection by the second. That’s 8 months of revision and £1000+ down the drain. Had an exam which required me using this app, I was worried as all the negativity around it but when it come to doing the exam the app was very easy to use and I had no issues at all with it. Was easy to set up and all instructions were clear on what to do ### 5/5 — Once going it was fine *2024-02-09, version 8.1.2* Had a few issues getting system up and running. I did the pre test demo to make sure it was all compatible but come to moment of the test I simply couldn’t get the thing to work. Very impressed that I received a phone call from the centre who could obviously see I was having some problems. Talked me through it and was soon up and running. Relatively easy from that point. ### 5/5 — Worked Fine *2023-11-06* There were a number of directions to be followed before using this for an exam I took recently, (adding Chrome extensions, allowing pop ups, etc) but it worked just fine. I had no problems during the set up test or the exam itself. ### 5/5 — Easy to use *2023-09-15, version 8.1.1* Recently completed an exam (13/09/23) with Proctor and was provided details in advance of the exam which o followed to ensure microphone, camera and all technology worked 48 hours before the exam time. On the morning of the exam, I logged in and was slightly early, it gave me the time window I could start my exam and I logged in quickly and easily. Once assigned an invigilator, I had to complete steps to show I had no notes in my office area by scanning my camera round my room and followed the instructions of Kerrie via the chat box. It couldn’t have been easier and sitting an exam in your home environment is far less daunting. ### 5/5 — Good service *2023-05-01* It works well for me, the time I had a small issue they helped me right away. I was having some worries and wasn’t shure how to do some steps, but their workers help me with explaining everything clearly and nicely. Nothing was lagging ,voice and video was ok ,connection perfect. After u can uninstall app and that’s it.
