Lots of flexibility to make notes in the script, to highlight and more. But it crashes often on the iPad - a current one running current iOS. It will then lock you out with a “Problem processing email” message and tell you to try again later. Happens to several of us in our current show and the crashes come without warning. Very very inconvenient during rehearsals. In short it’s just not reliable enough to rely on. Too bad. **Developer response:** Hi there! It’s Serene - Community Manager at ProductionPro. I was able to learn my lines a lot faster than when I had to solely rely on the paper script because I always had my phone or iPad with me. Our choreographer also uploaded all the rehearsal videos and I could easily practice my choreography at home. I felt more confident going into every rehearsal! ### 4/5 — Loving it but hoping for future changes. *2019-01-03, version 2.10.0* This is a great app.As a director, I have implemented it for our school production with materials from MTI. My musical director and TD. I hope to get iPads for SM and Lighting to make it truly useful. Two needed areas, however, that would make this 10 times more useful would be the ability to share the script to mobile phones (expecting actors to all have iPads or buying them for a cast is both unwieldy and expensive) and making the score portion compatible with air turn devices. ### 2/5 — Immediate Account *2018-11-10, version 2.9.0* At least let me test drive without having to create an account. I won’t even bother now. ### 4/5 — Great app for our Production Team *2018-05-31* Works very well and is fantastic to have script, score, and ideas all in one place where the whole team can have access at any time. I wish one could edit with an Apple Pencil and I wish it worked cross-platform. Otherwise this is a gem. **Developer response:** Hi there! This truly has everything you need to work in the 21st century and the support staff is incredible. ### 5/5 — The filtering is amazing! *2018-02-14* I love being able to tag my costumes and filtering them so I can view them by character (throughout the show) or by scenes! Tech support took many days to fix the problem and then it stopped working the next month upon renewal. I have paid this subscription for several months without being able to use it. ### 1/5 — Creating an Account *2026-01-15* Horrible. Actually horrible, because tell me why I’m trying to create my account so I can get my script and work on it but every time I try to get in and use the email that my script is on it doesn’t let me in. It says error creating an account. It shouldn’t be this difficult my Wi-Fi’s at full bars and I’ve been trying for the past three hours to get in, but it won’t let me in. ### 1/5 — Glitching issues *2024-04-11* The concept of this app is amazing. The problem I continually had was the app kept shutting down. This would not stop happening during use. The app would only stay open for 3-7 minutes at a time making it impossible to get anywhere with blocking as a director. What should have been an app that saved me time, doubled my work and tripled my frustration level. Company never responded to my questions about this issue. We hope to hear from you soon. ### 1/5 — Worthless for a choreographer *2023-11-26* Wish I could give it zero stars. I’m a freelance choreographer, and work school to school. I can’t access anything on this program and have it saved without Wi-Fi (which many places will not give to contract employees) so this program pretty much becomes worthless from the get go. And of course, I can’t just download the score like every other show I’ve ever worked on that has chosen not to use this terrible program. **Developer response:** Hi there! Our agreement with the licensing company allows for those materials to be used within the ProductionPro iPad and web apps, so a WiFi or phone data connection is generally needed. However, if you’re using the ProductionPro iPad app, you should be able to cache your script and score by opening those documents in the production prior to going offline and leaving the iPad app open. This will allow you to still have access to them when you do not have a WiFi or phone data/hotspot available. We hope to hear from you soon. ### 1/5 — TERRIBLE app *2022-03-08, version 2.18.0* Half the time, anything done while not connected to wifi is lost. Today, EVERYTHING disappeared. Now gonna spend the next few hours watching videos and writing blocking notes again. AND DEFINITELY NOT IN PRODUCTION PRO. ### 1/5 — No clue *2020-03-14, version 2.12.0* What this is supposed to do or how to “make it go”. Apparently it’s associated with several expensive services I’ve ever head of. Beyond that, the no help, no tutorial, and I can’t figure it out. Glad I didn’t pay for it. ### 1/5 — More trouble than its worth! *2019-01-27* This application is not worth a penny from your pocket or a moment of your time. Ideally, it would be accessible to all members of your production otherwise, why else use it? If production notes, video, music go in but no one other than the account owner can view it, it’s a worthless waste of time. Tried uploading choreo video, kept getting an “upload failed” message. I tried to upload music, “upload failed.” I can only work on figuring the app out when I’m not at work (usually the weekend) but no one is available to help on the weekends! If I can’t get my money back for this application (purchased as part of my $2500 production package from MTI) then I will b back here to, hopefully, save others from making a huge, expensive mistake. **Developer response:** Hi there, thank you for your feedback! Would you please let us know where you saw that you couldn't have all members of your production on the show? With the add-on for your show license on MTI, you can add your entire production team, cast, and crew to the show on ProductionPro. They're allowed to view all media uploaded. The only things they cannot see are your personal annotations, which is how cast can highlight their lines and make blocking notes on their digital scripts. While our chat support isn't officially available on the weekends, we would absolutely respond to any issues that pertain to the upload issues you mentioned. So if you see anything in our marketing material that speaks to the contrary, please let us know because we need to get that fixed. :) If, after reaching out to us for help with setup, you do not feel the add-on is suited for your team, you may reach out to your rep within 30 days to process and return. I tried nothing short of a dozen times to upload the script and it did not work. The app also kept crashing. I am very tech savvy and love using new apps to keep organized and to streamline the process, but this app doesn’t even work. Now, if only the school WIFI was reliable... ### 5/5 — Game changer! *2025-08-28* Our community theater company has used ProductionPro on several productions. The app is easy to use, and the convenience of having the script anywhere and anytime you have access to an electronic device is awesome. In its simplest form, it acts like a digital book and notetaking app, and it’s more advanced features lets you share notes and media with your cast and crew. Would recommend to any theater group. ### 5/5 — Amazing in so many ways *2024-02-15* My team and I used this app and companion desktop. It helped us stay organized as we worked separately before our show. Then when we do have meetings we can all talk on the same page. The scene breakdown is incredibly useful and the fact that it tracks in the scene break down (landscape) to switching to script mode (portrait) is very easy to not only see what is happening design wise but skip through the show and track characters. All in all amazing app. And bonus my team all says it is fun to use. ### 5/5 — A resource for set designers. *2023-09-18* Today I went into a scenic shop and held my first ever kick off meeting as the SET DESIGNER using ProductionPro!!! It felt good, REALLY good!!! I had my show/production fully loaded onto ProductionPro via my iPad. It’s organizational structure made finding my assets super easy and made me look (and feel) like a star! It helped me visually show the sequencing of our production while giving me quick access to all my scenic research, my drafting, the lighting designers plots, director’s notes and photos of a prop piano. It included a verbal WOW when I “flipped to the script”. I’m very excited to continue using ProductionPro as a tool for my evolving set design career.
