## What is Profometer?

Profometer - Intelligent software for durability inspections of concrete structures. Used together with the most compact, versatile and accurate cover meter, the Profometer PM8000 Pro, PM8000 & PM8000 Lite for mapping concrete cover and estimating rebar diameters. Used with the fastest and most flexible corrosion half-cell potential meter, the Profometer PM8500 for mapping out corrosion potentials.

The Profometer app can be connected to two different sensors, and its mission is simple:

- PM8000 Pro, PM8000 & PM8000 Lite: Scan reinforced concrete in situ for quality control, conformance with structural drawings and assessment of structural durability by mapping concrete cover and rebar diameter.
- PM8500: Measure the corrosion potential using half-cell technology, providing a clear overview of the areas that have a high probability of being corroded, for further analysis and definition of a repair project.

The intuitive software produces all valuable deliverables such as:

- PM8000 Pro, PM8000 & PM8000 Lite: spot measurement check, concrete cover and rebar diameter maps, signal strength views, heat maps including AR (augmented reality), standard and advanced statistics based on DBV (Deutscher Beton- und Bautechnik-Verein) criteria, elevating your assessments to the next level.

- PM8500: corrosion potential gradient view, cumulative frequency and distribution statistics views, corrosion likelihood chipping map.

Enrich your measurements with geolocation, tags, photos, voice memos and comments in the Logbook to provide a full picture of the contextual data. With only one click, you can collaborate and share data from anywhere and anytime among all stakeholders - in raw data, CSV, HTML and DXF format. - Profometer PM8500 corrosion half-cell potential meter, the most accurate and productive sensor in the market. You can use our rod electrode for mapping corrosion in small concrete elements, and our one-wheel or four-wheel electrode, to map out corrosion in bigger areas such as parking garages or concrete bridges. Leverage the real-time software for immediate visualization of corrosion likelihood analysis, connected to the most compact sensor and the unique wheel electrodes for the fastest area scanning.

### 2.7.0 — 2026-04-23

This release further adds to the functionality of both the PM8000 and PM8500
For the PM8500 a new export function has been added “Export as Profolink”. This creates files that are compatible with the PC software Profolink to make use of the image stitching functionality that it provides, or to make use of the reporting format provided by the desktop software. 
Furthermore it is now possible to export from Profolink in .dxf format for alignment with construction drawings.
The Profolink software is free to download from www.screeningeagle.com.

Additionally, a number of requested functions have been added to the app.

PM8500
The user interface control panel can be switched from the right side of the screen to the left.
It is now possible to select multiple cells for deletion or for manual entry of data values.
It is now possible to zoom into the cumulative frequency diagram to aid in setting the corrosion threshold levels.
The default cell size has now been set to 25cm to align with guideline recommendations and if this is adjusted the new value will be maintained for subsequent measurements.
All relevant statistics data has been added to the .csv export. All of this data can now be selected in Workspace along with saved screenshots to create reports in .docx format.

PM8000

The zoom range on the signal strength screen has been greatly increased to show rebars detected with low signal strengths.
Finally we have added cover calibration to allow the user to calibrate the cover precisely from a physical measurement made on site.

### 2.6.0 — 2025-10-07

This release is primarily focused on the PM8500 corrosion inspection application bringing unparalleled flexibility to the data scanning process.
The user can now scan in a fixed or flexible grid. 
Scan forwards or in the negative direction, either horizontally or vertically. 
Select any cell in the grid and continue scanning there, either to fill in missing data or overwrite existing data. 
Use the new easy skip feature to jump a predefined distance while scanning. 
Re-open and existing file and continue scanning from any cell in the grid.
Adjust and maintain the zoom level while scanning.
Additionally we have increase the maximum grid dimensions up to 10’000 m2 for a fixed grid and 20’000 m2 for a flexible grid.
Also the user can now export scans in DXF format for better overlaying with construction drawings.
For the PM8000 cover meter we have introduced the DXF export format for multiline scans.
Also the user can now create a new measurement directly from the probe.
Finally for both devices we have increased the resolution of snapshot exports

The latest release addresses some issues with the statistics evaluation, setting the skip and the application of the neighbouring rebar correction when deep mode is selected.
It also improves the operation of the maximum cover sliders.
In addition to this we have increased the capability of the log files which will help with identifying any correcting any problems in future.

The latest release brings important new functionality to the best-in-class cover meters for concrete durability assessment, Profometer PM8000 Pro, PM8000 & PM8000 Lite. This new release for all PM8000 users provides the capability to perform multiline scans in both positive and negative directions. This gives total flexibility to the starting position of any scan, allowing the scanning distance to extend as required in both directions. Scanning irregularly shaped objects has never been more convenient. 

To continually and further enhance the PM8000 experience, we have made the following improvements: 

. PM8000 Multiline scan is now able to extend the flexible grid in both positive and negative directions. 

. Improvement of large measurements display (PM8000). A new full screen icon has been added to allow the user to zoom in and view cell values on large scans.
