### 4/5 — Good enough

*2024-01-01*

App hasn’t been updated in 4 years. It is pretty good as it works over wifi and you don’t require to be in the vicinity of there BBQ but needs to have background app refresh as you have to keep checking to see if the food is at the correct temperature. Once the phone screen is off you don’t get a warning that the food is cooked.

If out had this facility it works get 5 stars

### 3/5 — It worked for awhile

*2022-11-15, version 1.3.6*

It needs to be updated for IOS 16. When I first got mine, it was for IOS 12, now we’re on IOS 16 and it hasn’t worked since 15. The lack in the ability to keep up with operating systems is annoying.

### 4/5 — Works great

*2021-06-04, version 1.3.6*

Works great for me. Just have to pair every time I use it.

### 4/5 — Enable background app refresh!

*2021-05-16, version 1.3.6*

Would be 5 stars if the app developers would enable background app refresh so you would get a timer alarm to trigger when the phone is in your pocket and not just when the app is open and you are staring at it, seems like an oversight on their part.

### 2/5 — No, you do not get location permission.

*2021-01-01, version 1.3.6*

No, you don’t get to enable location permissions to monitor the temperature of the food on my grill.

### 2/5 — Not a smooth set up. Privacy concerns too!

*2020-11-30, version 1.3.6*

The set up is not as seamless as you would expect. I think it is outrageous that it needs to use your GPS location at all times in order for it to work. I tried it without and it just does not work. How dare they require you to use your GPS for a simple Bluetooth thermometer. Talk about privacy concerns and a battery drain! Ridiculous.

### 2/5 — Good app until location requirement

*2020-11-08, version 1.3.6*

The worked pretty good until they upgraded and now force you to use location services. DO NOT PURCHASE until this gets fixed.

### 1/5 — Why location all of the sudden

*2020-05-01, version 1.3.6*

Have had unit for some time and now app terms change. Device is not usable as sold any longer. How do I get a refund or bypass location requirement?

### 1/5 — Temp doesn’t sync

*2020-04-26, version 1.3.6*

Nuff said

### 1/5 — PURE CRAP!

*2020-04-26, version 1.3.6*

No way to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit! Constantly having to re sync the app with the unit! FRUSTRATING!

### 2/5 — Doesn’t work well with iPhone 11 Pro

*2020-04-24, version 1.3.6*

Multiple attempts for unit to pair and pick up WiFi. I can see it on the network but does not stay sync. Deleted app several time. No success on attempts. Sure wished it worked better as I like the thermometer for cooking

### 1/5 — Product used to be good but privacy is not allowed

*2020-04-23, version 1.3.6*

This used to be really great for my smoker but all of a sudden the application is now trying to require me to enable location services. It is ridiculous that a thermometer company needs to gather my location data and will not allow to proceed without it. I now have to keep shutting down the app because of the location pop up. Update 4/23 now this does not work at all. Random beeping, unit is showing 68 degrees and app is showing 32 degrees. Repaired with no luck. This product is now rendered worthless.

### 2/5 — The app was good until it demanded my location

*2020-03-24, version 1.3.6*

I have used this app for years. Now it demands that I share my personal location or else it will not let me keep using the app. There is no reason this app needs my location to function. Developers, please remove the location request from your software.

### 1/5 — Won’t connect with iOS 13.3

*2019-12-29, version 1.3.5*

The problem seems to be that my router name doesn’t appear in the drop down list - just ‘Wi-Fi’. I know my router is 2.4 GHz - have connected numerous other smart switches to it. Even though ‘Wi-Fi is selected, still get ‘Please check if you Wi-Fi router is support 2.4 GHZ...’ Developer probably needs to update app..

### 1/5 — Password

*2019-11-28, version 1.3.5*

Tried to retrieve password and it requires a password to be put in before you can click on retrieve password. Anyone else find this ridiculous?

### 1/5 — WiFi doesn’t connect

*2019-11-08, version 1.3.5*

Cannot pair with the WiFi or use the app. Don’t waste your money

### 3/5 — Fix for iPhone X

*2019-10-03, version 1.3.5*

Am I to assume that this app will not be updated anymore since last one was a year ago? Here is my issue. I cannot connect to my network through my iPhone X. This app will not see any network. I have two different routers in my home. That being said I downloaded this to my older iPad and it saw my networks right away and all is working fine. Would really to get it to work on my phone and not have to depend on my iPad.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — It worked for awhile

*2023-09-23, version 1.3.6*

When I first got mine, it was for IOS 12, now we’re on IOS 16 and it hasn’t worked since 15. The lack in the ability to keep up with operating systems is annoying. These have turned into paper weights because they haven’t worked since iOS 15 and we’re on iOS 17

### 1/5 — Well, this is bad…

*2022-10-20, version 1.3.6*

No way to create an account in the app that I can find so I went to the website and created an account.

The app still says “Account does not exist.”

Off to a rip roaring start…

### 1/5 — Spying?

*2021-07-23, version 1.3.6*

Refuses to set up the app unless I allow access to my GPS. Why does a thermometer need my location? Immediately uninstalled the app.

### 1/5 — Complicated

*2021-01-03, version 1.3.6*

If it can be eventually figured out, the odds of getting a reading on the app are only abo 20%.
Pairing program is so bad it’s not.worth 10 cents.

### 1/5 — bad product

*2020-12-07, version 1.3.6*

all my probes and power on switches failed no replacement

### 1/5 — Want to get your location

*2020-09-28, version 1.3.6*

Outside of connecting to my network, which it does after several minutes of being connected to my phone it will constantly ask for permission for my gps location or stay locked up.

### 1/5 — WiFi won’t stay connected

*2020-08-06, version 1.3.6*

The app worked the first time I used it and now no matter what I do it will not work.

### 1/5 — WORTHLESS APP- DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on thermometer

*2020-07-03, version 1.3.6*

A thermometer ONLY needs to access thermometer data and the app itself. NOT your location, NOT your files, NOT your photos or videos.... this seems like a PERSONAL DATA scraper for probably a “state agency” or for UNETHICAL profiteering. TERRIBLE PRODUCT, can’t even change temp settings to F instead of C. WORTHLESS.

### 1/5 — Great when it works, which is rare

*2020-05-24, version 1.3.6*

Very frustrated with the unit. Replacing now. 2 years of hassle, I give up

### 1/5 — WiFi doesn’t work anymore

*2020-05-05, version 1.3.6*

Used to work. Setup process is fine but the App just show - - as the temp all the time. Only reason I bought this thermometer was for the WiFi function

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works Flawlessly for Me

*2022-07-25, version 1.3.6*

No clue why the reviews are sooo terrible. I bought a Prograde wifi temperature gauge from Walmart on clearance for $6. Followed the instructions and downloaded this app. Connected it to my wifi and have had zero issues. It’s just as accurate as the built in probe on my Recteq pellet grill. It connects to my home wifi and I can keep track of temps on the go. Love it.

### 5/5 — Works perfect

*2021-01-04, version 1.3.6*

I absolutely love my prograde WiFi thermometer. Works as well as thermometers 10x the price. App works well. I am able to put meats in smoker and monitor from anywhere. Only negative is app only supports one thermometer at a time. I currently use 2 thermometers. I monitor one from my iPhone and the other from my iPad.

### 5/5 — Almost perfect

*2020-01-01, version 1.3.6*

Been using this for literal years and never had any issues. Always connects to WiFi, always links to app. My only issue is that I have to keep the app in foreground.

### 5/5 — Ignore the operator error reviews

*2019-06-21, version 1.3.5*

My goodness It’s so obnoxious to see people who lack technical skills use technology and complain due to their own ineptness when it comes to technology...then give a crap review and rating of the manufacturer.
Shill review of a competitor perhaps?

This thermometer was so simple to setup it’s not even an issue.
You download this app and follow the instructions on the screen, it walks you through it like a 5 year old...doesn’t get much simpler!
Had the unit connected in less than 3 minutes including unpacking, downloading the app and leafing through the pamphlet.

### 5/5 — WiFi DOES work!! Even remotely!!

*2019-06-19, version 1.3.5*

Ok first off, CHECK YOUR ROUTER. The only reason WiFi won't work with these is they are not downwards compatible. Modern WiFi routers will work just fine as long as they have 2.4ghz and meet the letter requirements. I just found out this isn't just WiFi, it's remote access WiFi. Game: changed. Granted I can't control my smoker temp remotely, but I can at least monitor what's going on! Pretty awesome!

### 5/5 — Works for me

*2019-02-23, version 1.3.5*

Turns out I was entering a slightly wrong network ID (the app will accept it and say “success” anyway which through me off). Once I realized I was misspelling my password it paired instantly.

### 5/5 — Follow the directions

*2019-01-17, version 1.3.5*

It works, if is doesn’t you are doing something wrong (most likely). If you are not getting a reading of temp in the app, your password is wrong. The app does not tell you if your password is correct or not, it will always say success.......double check what your password is and also that you are on the network you are trying to connect it to. I’d does not work with 5 WiFi......so if it’s not working and you have 2 signals try the other one.

Most of the poor reviews are operator error.

### 5/5 — Download was easy and straightforward

*2018-11-03, version 1.3.5*

Works great for me. Only problem I have is the unit always defaults to Celsius when I turn it on. Minor inconvenience to an otherwise good device. Accurate and better than my last brand.

### 5/5 — App and thermometer work great.

*2018-08-04, version 1.3.5*

Finally, I can leave the house and smoke large cuts of meat and whole hogs!

People apparently can’t read. This app sets up easy and works reliably. It deserves much more than the current 2.3 rating (23 reviews). Either some of these people have horrible WiFi or they just can’t follow simple instructions.
My only complaint is that if you have a timer set, you can’t close the app or the timer goes back to zero. Petty, but that’s my only complaint.

### 5/5 — Phidipedes

*2018-08-01, version 1.3.5*

Works flawlessly if you just follow the instructions. Very nice app. Now I don’t have to go down and up the deck stairs to check the temperature.
