## What is Progressive Overload?

Progressive overload shouldn’t be guesswork.

Most lifters understand the principle: lift more over time. But when it comes to execution, it gets confusing. Should you increase weight and drop reps? Add reps at the same weight? How do you know what actually pushes adaptation without stalling?

I built this app because I was tired of bouncing between e1RM calculator websites before and after workouts. I’d plug in numbers, test a weight, adjust the next session, and repeat through trial and error. It broke focus and slowed progress.

This app removes that friction.

It automatically calculates your estimated one-rep max (e1RM) and helps guide intelligent progression. Instead of guessing what to lift next, you get structured guidance based on your performance.

No spreadsheets.
No switching between calculator tabs.
No random weight jumps.

Just clear, data-driven progression.

What it does:

• Calculates and tracks your estimated 1RM
• Helps determine when to increase weight vs. reps
• Encourages consistent progressive overload
• Keeps your progression structured and measurable

If you’re serious about getting stronger, this turns progressive overload from theory into a system.

Train with intention.
Progress with clarity.

## Key features

### 5/5 — So helpful

*2026-05-06*

I felt like I was plateauing at the gym and then came across this app which uses e1RM. It analyzes my lifts and tells me exactly how to progress so that I’m not left guessing. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking to build strength in the gym!

### 1/5 — Data disappeared

*2026-04-14*

After about a week of use, my templates and work out history are gone. I’m still logged in, but everything is missing. The Apple health sync doesn’t seem to do anything.

**Developer response:** Hi! Thank you for your feedback! I am working on resolving this issue and want to return your data to you and fix these bugs. If you don't mind, email me at gavinpobrien@progressiveoverloadapp.com.
The app is still in early stages of developement and am looking to improve these features. I greatly value your feedback!

### 5/5 — FANTASTIC APP!

*2026-04-05*

I’ve used a LOT of workout apps over the years, and this one is on a completely different level

The way it uses e1RM (estimated 1 rep max) is straight up game-changing. Instead of guessing if I should bump weight or chase more reps, the app actually analyzes my lifts and tells me exactly what’s optimal for strength progression. It’s like having a coach in your pocket that actually understands progressive overload and doesn’t just throw cookie-cutter programs at you.

The AI is legit. It looks at your sets, reps, fatigue patterns, and performance trends and adjusts recommendations based on real data — not just vibes. Some days it pushes me to add weight, other days it has me grind out extra reps to build volume… and it’s been spot on every time.

I’ve already seen my numbers go up across the board — bench, squat, deadlift — all climbing without burning out. That balance between intensity and volume is dialed in perfectly.

If you’re serious about lifting, tracking your workouts, and actually getting stronger (not just going through the motions), this app is a must. Absolute weapon for anyone trying to break plateaus and maximize gains
