I realised that each Pod had no WLAN connectivity, needed to connect with the App and start charging. It was then impossible to get back to the Message Centre in the App to report the problem. Tried to report it by phone to the Project EV Helpdesk but no reply. Of course problems happen but you need a responsive way of resolving them. ### 1/5 — Waste of time company. The only way mine works is having it set as plug and charge as a dumb charger which is what it is. And let Octopus or Skoda control the charging ### 1/5 — Shockingly unreliable *2023-10-29, version 4.3.0* New charger installed. Took days to get app to work with it. Support poor. App keeps dropping out and saying unavailable (despite good connection). No idea why. Needs rebooting regularly. Timer totally random and charges at peak time incorrectly. I’ve got it to work well once. Poor/ no instructions that are user friendly. There’s no reason why the app cannot improve given all the previous feedback. Please sort this out - you have had years to do so! ### 1/5 — Oh dear *2023-10-24, version 4.3.0* This app is, sadly, horrible to use. Maybe, just maybe once you’ve managed to initialise your charger and get it onto your home network it might be OK but I’ve had several attempts at doing this and in the middle of the last one the hotspot disappeared and has not reappeared since. The forums are full of people asking for help. This software needs more investment (and so does the software in the charger, I suspect). I didn’t choose this charger, it was pre-installed by the construction company. I’ll be changing it. ### 1/5 — Forget the APP *2023-10-12, version 4.3.0* I have all of a sudden after 2 years found the app won’t work. Have had 20-25 messages back n forth with them - all to no avail. Charger works manually so till it stops will stay - once it stops then I will get a.n. Other installed. ### 1/5 — Didn’t get past sign up *2023-08-25, version 4.3.0* Awful UX - was asked for asked for ridiculous amount of information about the charger just to register and gave up. Completely and utterly unreliable!!!! DO NOT buy a charger point that uses this app!! The company we bought ours from takes no responsibility for the fact that the app doesn’t work properly. If it wasn’t for the fact that we have a plug-in hybrid we would be stuffed. I pity anyone who has a full electric car and uses this app. God help you. We have been told there may be another app out there so fingers crossed. Buggy, crashes a lot, archaic connectivity and customer service just as poor. But when I contacted the customer service at Project Manager EV; the setup was done over the phone and my Tesla now get 32amps charging without tripping. This has transformed my charging experience from stressful to excellent. ### 5/5 — Other Reviewers *2023-03-09, version 4.2* Contrary to other reviews , our charger has never failed to charge our car using scheduled times over TWO YEARS. I have always found the UK based tech team responsive and very knowledgeable. Anyone reporting failed or incomplete charging can likely pinpoint either faulty initial set up or owner misunderstanding of the process. I plug mine in and within 20- 30 seconds it’s set to charge hours in the future. Can set time schedules too so it charges overnight. ### 4/5 — Project EV vs Electric Miles *2025-05-10, version 4.3.0* I used Project EV from the beginning. It was very good. I then tried Electric Miles. It never worked on Solar charging despite getting help from them. Have now gone back to Project EV - much happier. ### 4/5 — Works very well *2022-04-30, version 4.0* I have had this for a good few years and really appreciate the new version. Cleaner ui and a bit more intuitive. At set up, I remember I needed to contact support to update the firmware in my charger. After that it has been working without a blip. It has an ‘access point’ mode so you can get it on to your wifi. Then you switch it back to normal to operate. Using the app to automatically control access to the charger, monitor your power consumption overtime. Someone tried to steal my unit and failed. Bent the wall bracket which project ev kindly replaced free of charge. ### 4/5 — All good now *2019-06-25, version 1.2.4* Installed one of these for a customer last week. So long as you have the latest firmware installed on the charger it works very well and better than an App for the car. ### 3/5 — connectivity very unreliable *2023-04-13, version 4.3.0* Have to power it down every few days to get the wifi to reconnect. It’s not a problem with my wifi, that works at the charger position and a good 25m beyond it. The app is flaky and not intuitive. I can just about handle using this system as a computer engineer with 40 years experience.
