### 2/5 — Pre-Subscription Guinea Pigs

*2026-07-31, version 1.1.1*

Adobe is offering this product free for now but you just wait - once they get it dialed in they’ll come after you for money! It’s the Adobe way!!

### 3/5 — iPhone 17 Regular

*2026-07-18*

The app is great, and photos taken with it really do have a more professional look. However, it promises better quality than the native camera for zoomed-in shots—something I saw demonstrated in review videos. Yet, on the standard iPhone 17, it doesn't seem to work quite as well, as any photo taken with the native camera retains significantly more detail when zoomed in.

### 4/5 — Weird bug feature, but still a wonderful iPhone camera app

*2026-06-25, version 1.0.13*

I absolutely love the developed photos this app delivers, but there is one thing that I always have a problem dealing with. The developed photos can be viewed on Project Indigo, but when I check them in Photos they become the original version, without the modifications of Pi. I find this sometimes disturbing because the Pi photos look a lot better, but you just can’t view them or share them in that form. Developers, please solve this problem to make your app even better.

### 2/5 — No good anymore

*2026-06-19, version 1.0.13*

The latest version of this app (June 2026) ruins its best feature, which was accurate colours. Now, it makes up colours just like the stock camera app does so that sunsets are lines of primary colours (for example). It no longer has any purpose.

Original review follows:

I think this takes much better pics than the stock camera app. The colours are more realistic and there's more detail. Best pics I've seen from a phone. Really good.

But it's infuriating. It prioritises its image processing over my need to take a photo. If I take a few pics in quick succession, it'll stop me taking more pics while it processes the ones I've just taken. That is backward. If I hit the shutter again, it needs to pause its processing and let me take the next pic. Processing can be done after. It should always be lowest priority.

What's more, all this immediate processing makes the phone warm up, which makes the screen dim, which means you can't see what you're doing after a while, and this always happens with this app. It's just bad UX. Really bad UX. It makes the app feel more like a tech demo than a camera.

And of course, your battery is flat in no time cos of all the image processing.

And the heating up from processing the photos makes the processing much slower. So after a few bursts you have to wait quite a while to take more pics.

And on top of all this, if you close the app while it's processing (or if iOS closes it) your pic is gone. You must consciously wait.

So that's five (5!) problems caused by the immediate image processing of every single photo. Even the bad ones you're about to delete. It's barely tolerable.

It should instead save a preview for each pic and process the pics later, or on demand. Anything but what we have now. Let me use storage instead of battery and processor.

### 4/5 — Capture without unlocking plz

*2026-06-13, version 1.0.13*

Please make a LockedCameraCaptureExtension. I would love to assign Indigo to the action button or camera control.

### 4/5 — please add pre-saving for undeveloped shots

*2026-06-12, version 1.0.13*

I lost loads of great photos because, by the time a photo had been taken and was being processed, my phone’s memory would be full; and while I was clearing it, Indigo would be unloaded from RAM, the processing would be interrupted, and the photos would disappear :(

Otherwise, it’s a brilliant app that has almost completely replaced my standard camera.

If, once you’ve sorted out the ‘development issue’, you decide to add a video function, I’ll be the happiest user

### 3/5 — Still overheating the graphics chips

*2026-06-11, version 1.0.13*

The app overheats the graphics chips like there’s no tomorrow. Consequently, the battery really drains using this app and this has been the problem since it was first released. The upshot is the the technology produces really good images that are dynamically balanced not specifically HDR but the shadows have detail and the highlights are not overblown which you can recover in the Photoshop express app. Every now and then there seems to be some sort of change with the layout or the functions that never seemed to have much explanation particularly the last update which introduced to new type of Zoom features on the macro setting. I sort of tried to figure out myself. There is also the problem where the camera files to operate and state damage dysfunction when you turn the app on it’s only started recently happening. It doesn’t seem to like to switch to the other Zoom modes and the Preview stays blank. Overall, it’s a free app but the persistent bugs and overheating still remains.

*2026-06-10, version 1.0.12*

### 4/5 — Green Photo Bug

*2026-06-10, version 1.0.12*

The pictures it takes look great but after some time (in jpeg + raw mode) the photos in my camera roll have a decent chance of turning green, kind of annoying

### 4/5 — Great App for stills.

*2026-05-31*

I got exposed to this app pretty early and have seen how it has transformed the photos from my IPhone 16, just now I have noticed that the support has been extended to iPads as well and I am pretty impressed by the photos it can take now, it just that it still take a second or two to process it completely and I request you guys to extend the support to regular 13 series as well. My old phone can use some of your apps magic.

### 3/5 — iPhone 13 Não funciona

*2026-05-26*

### 3/5 — Nice photos, bad battery

*2026-05-25, version 1.0.12*

Probably the most unreliable camera app around. When it works, the images look very nice, definitely an improvement over the stock photos app. When it doesn’t work, the app crashes, doesn’t save your photo until it is processed, or will simply show a black screen with no camera. The settings are easy to use and more powerful than stock camera. However, it seriously heats up my iPhone 14 Pro to the point of overheating under normal use. AI denoise crashes the app and heats the phone a lot. As soon as this is fixed, this will be a pretty great app.

### 5/5 — Great pics, bad everything else

*2026-05-16, version 1.0.12*

*2026-05-16*

### 4/5 — Índigo

*2026-05-14, version 1.0.12*

I’ve been using Indigo for fitness photography for a long time and last year the app looked much better. The photos were cleaner more natural and more cinematic.

This year the image processing feels very different. Skin tones look warmer/orange, shadows look too heavy, and the photos feel overprocessed compared to before. The old version had a much more realistic camera look without too much HDR or sharpening.

I really hope future updates bring back the older image style or give us an option for a more natural processing mode because that’s what made Indigo special.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Update 1.1.1

*2026-08-04*

After installing update 1.1.1, the application stopped working, the screen is black. iPhone 15 pro max, ios18

### 1/5 — Pushing AI slop

*2026-07-20, version 1.1.0*

Went from a slow, but interesting, attempt to replicate Pixel Camera on iOS, but has now started pushing genAI junk onto its users

### 1/5 — No 48mp support

*2026-07-09, version 1.0.13*

Even on iPhone 17, Indigo does not support 48mp capture.

### 1/5 — Dumps Photos that aren’t finished processing.

*2026-06-14, version 1.0.13*

I am so tired of taking pics with this app and later finding them missing. If I lock my phone too quickly after taking a photo, it doesn’t complete processing it and instead deletes it and it is so frustrating!

*2026-05-12, version 1.0.12*

*2026-05-03, version 1.0.11*

### 1/5 — App stopped working

*2026-05-01, version 1.0.11*

This app seems to have been abandoned, and is now failing to open about half the time, and sometimes drop pictures altogether instead of « processing » them and pushing them to the photos app

### 1/5 — Unacceptable privacy permissions

*2026-04-29, version 1.0.11*

Not worth it for the terms and conditions.

### 1/5 — Pra quem não tá conseguindo instalar direito

*2026-04-29*

### 1/5 — Despite release notes, doesn’t open on latest iPad M5

*2026-04-10, version 1.0.11*

It says it is not compatible, and even that it doesn’t support iPhone 17. That’s an old message…

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Incredible controls

*2026-08-08, version 1.1.1*

I have been using this app for over a two weeks. The images I am able to capture with my 13pro through the app are sharper than any I have taken with my cell. I am a huge fan of the app. Thank you.

*2026-07-31, version 1.1.1*

### 5/5 — Support

*2026-07-07, version 1.0.13*

Please update the app so iPhone 13 could use it too.please please please they all said its the best and I really want to try it

### 5/5 — Polished and gives a much more natural look

*2026-07-06, version 1.0.13*

The images look much more pleasing to my eye, similar to the Pixel’s aesthetics. I just hope this app doesn’t go anywhere or becomes part of a subscription.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-06-24, version 1.0.13*

This app is fantastic, I hope Adobe continues working on it, the image quality over the standard raw iPhone photos is drastic. Massive upgrade. Photoshop required for DNG files.

### 5/5 — Feature request: macro mode focus bracketing

*2026-06-05, version 1.0.12*

I am doing some macro photography, and I absolutely love your app, especially for the super resolution on the 2x image crop. However, in some macro situations, the depth of field becomes prohibitively narrow. Because of this, the solution is focus bracketing, to digitally widen the depth of field. I am requesting this feature, as it would increase the usability of the app for me significantly. I can see 2 possible implementations: one would be to just output a raw image sequence to process on the computer or to do it directly in the app. The former would be a quick and easy feature to push, and it would make me very happy, but the second would turn this app into a literal piece of magic and I couldn’t even express what a difference it would make for me.

*2026-06-02*

### 5/5 — I hope to add multiple languages as soon as possible, especially Chinese.

*2026-05-28, version 1.0.12*

I like the camera function very much and the interface is also very simple and eye-catching, but it is not very friendly to non-naglish speakers. Simplified Chinese can also be added.

### 5/5 — Very good app

*2026-05-16, version 1.0.12*

Great quality app and easily to use. Way better than the normal camera app!
