No registration email is sent, which is part of the process to download the app. Without the app, there is no VR experience. Highly disappointed. Will return. ### 1/5 — Complete waste…. *2022-12-27* Won’t download I gave up after ten tries I got a little farther each time but after an entire day of trying I took stock in my time and realize I was wasting it. There’s a reason it has 2.3 stars…. Because it should have less ### 1/5 — Do not buy this *2022-12-25, version 1.4.6* Crappy product. Asks you to verify email. Then never sends the email. Had to use another phone to “skip” the sign in process. Then you need to use half the ink in your printer to print out a “sample page” before you can use the main one in the kit (sucks for people who don’t own printers). Do all that. Get it ready for my 5 year old, scan the main page only to be asked for an activation code with a link that doesn’t work. Every time you click on the activation code it just brings you back to the page where you need to print the sample page again. Very poor. I hope Walmart will give me my money back for this waste of time. My 5 year old is very upset this Christmas because nothing is working. ### 1/5 — No confirmation email / useless gift / app developed in 2002 *2022-12-25* 4 different emails & Hours later and there is still no confirmation email being sent to us to activate the game itself. The app does not work at all. The confirmation email never comes in, and I’ve tried three different email address. The page to put in the activation code does not work at all. There’s no where to put the code. There are no options in the app, once in VR the only thing I can do is hard shut the app ### 1/5 — Garbage *2023-01-22, version 1.4.6* My son was super excited to get this for Christmas, but he has been devastated by its uselessness. Like many people, we have had trouble with the app - no confirmation email, screen goes blank, spinning wheel of death, etc. We sent a customer inquiry on December 27th and didn’t receive a response until January 13th. All that they said was, “Was this ever resolved?” We responded “No” and haven’t heard from them since. To top it off, the person who emailed us had a signature with the name Greg Wilson, Business Manager, and provided a phone number. I called the number and reached the voicemail for a guy named Steve. Nothing about Abacus. Just a guy named Steve. Regardless, I left a message and sent a text because, according to Steve, he would get back to us more quickly if we texted. No response. I sent an email to Greg, filled out a second inquiry, found their page on Facebook and sent a message and posted on their wall. I also looked them up on LinkedIn and, according to their page, Abacus is a company with 2 - 10 employees. I have not received a response. At this point, I think I am going to contact Barnes & Noble to let them know they are carrying a product from a company who refuses to help their customers resolve this issue. It is a subtle form of thievery. ## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — My Favorite project *2025-09-27* I was doing the volcanos and building it was fun. ### 5/5 — Good app *2024-10-06, version 1.5.1* You need to read the instructions to actually make it work (I.e. need to look at the poster that comes with the headset to make it work), but the app does work and it’s really cool. Activation code came through instantly, not sure what that negative 1 star comment was on about. ### 5/5 — Great for kids! *2022-12-27* I purchased this for my 7 year-old & we didn’t have any issues downloading or viewing the content on the various volcano’s. Video quality is great as well. ### 4/5 — Easy to set up but be ready to have your phone on the headset *2022-10-25* It was pretty easy and straightforward to set up. Took me a while to realize that my phone needs to stay ON the headset for it to work. Cool experience. My son loves it. It ha Spanish English and French . A few experiences to play with or listen to with the dinosaur one. Upon putting in the code & completing verification through my email, it’s only worked once with the vr headset. Every time we launch the app, it just splits the screen on camera, no video ever plays to view. Very disappointing.
