## What is ProjectKiller?

Open a client's .mpp on your Mac, iPad or iPhone, edit it, and send it back with every byte you didn't touch exactly as Microsoft Project wrote it. ProjectKiller is a native scheduler for Mac, iPad and iPhone, including both screens of iPhone Duo, for people who receive Microsoft Project files and have to return them intact.

Real file compatibility
Open and save genuine Microsoft Project (.mpp) files — no lossy conversion, no import/export roundtrip surprises. CSV and XML import/export are also built in.

Professional scheduling engine
Full Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling with forward and backward pass calculations, so you always know which tasks actually drive your deadline. Task dependencies, recurring tasks, and effort-driven scheduling are all supported.

Resource management that catches real problems
Over-allocation detection works across every project you have open — not just within a single file — so you can spot when the same person is double-booked across two initiatives before it becomes a crisis.

Cost tracking & Earned Value Management
Track budget vs. actuals with full EVM metrics — BCWP, BCWS, CV, SV, CPI, and SPI — plus support for up to 10 numbered baselines, matching how Project's own baseline system works.

AI-powered planning assistant
Describe your project in plain language and get a draft task list. Ask the assistant to resolve resource over-allocations, suggest realistic task durations, or summarize overall project health.

Custom views and reporting
Build custom views with filters and grouping to see exactly the slice of the project you need, then export clean PDF or PNG reports for stakeholders.

Start free with up to 2 projects and 75 tasks each, no credit card required. Upgrade to Pro for larger projects, full .mpp export, and expanded AI usage.

Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly or annually until cancelled. The perpetual licence and AI credit top-ups are one-time purchases and never renew. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.

### 5/5 — Real Microsoft Project on the Mac!

*2026-08-27*

This one round trips from Windows to the Mac and back to Windows. Nothing else does this.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-10-24

ProjectKiller now runs on iPhone.

• A phone layout made for one hand: a slim top bar, with This Week, Big Picture, Orbit, Team and Projects in a tab bar along the bottom.
• iPhone Duo, closed: the outer screen gets the full phone layout, kept clear of the camera.
• iPhone Duo, open: the app splits at the fold. Your chosen view sits on one side and a second view on the other. Tap the chip at the top of the second side to pick what goes there.
• Open or close the Duo while you work and the app switches layouts without losing your file or your place.

iPad and Mac work exactly as before.

### 1.3 — 2026-09-29

Version 1.3

• The app asks for a rating once, right after your first successful .mpp save. It never asks again, and Apple decides whether the prompt is shown at all.

Nothing else in the app changed. To check the one thing that matters: open an .mpp from Microsoft Project, change one duration, save, and reopen the file in Project on Windows. Baselines, calendars and every field you did not touch are exactly as Project wrote them.

The Founding licence is $400 once until 31 October, then $679. Pro is $20 a month or $199 a year with a 7-day free trial.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-24

• The Founding licence is available: $400 once, until 31 October.
• Pro now starts with a 7-day free trial, monthly or yearly.
• Save and Undo refuse to overwrite a file that changed on disk since you opened it.
• Adding a resource rate no longer fills in an overtime rate you didn't enter.
• The decision log follows a project through renames and moves, and exports to CSV.
• Renumbering WBS codes respects a project's custom code mask.
• A one-time question asks whether to share anonymous usage counts. Nothing is shared unless you say yes, and file names and contents are never included.

### 1.1 — 2026-08-26

• Undo no longer overwrites a file that changed on disk — useful if you keep projects in a shared folder.
• Adding a resource rate no longer fills in an overtime rate you didn't enter.
• The decision log now follows a project through renames and moves, and exports to CSV.
• Renumbering WBS codes respects a project's custom code mask.
• Schedule variance and SPI now appear on projects created in ProjectKiller, alongside a new variance-at-completion figure.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-18
