What hooks me is the story, lore, art and more. Though it's a pain to go through. Combat is alright, it's just another autobattler so not much to say. Heavy P2W though, or at the very least it promotes daily playing lest you fall behind. Players are pitted against each other, making you lose so much progress if you miss a day of playing. I love Promise of Lingyun I just wish it more of a game than grinding,.rankings, and shopping. ### 2/5 — Bullying *2025-09-25, version 1.0.7* A lot of bullying in game from higher lvl players, Strong Clans create their own rules and repress other small clans, admins do nothing about it. also game needs a lot money for every event not so good for FTP ### 2/5 — P2W *2025-08-05, version 1.0.7* used to love this game until it became so p2w. you're barely able to get good rewards unless the server you're in is p2w, and it only gets worse once cross server unlocks. ### 4/5 — Fun but 100% P2W LOL *2025-06-27, version 1.0.7* It’s quite fun and although it is quite P2W to get in the higher ranks the people who are OP and P2W are all super friendly and everyone’s very nice in helping newer players or explaining things to them. Just ask! I do think this game could do better by being more f2p players but I don’t think it’ll happen since it’s these types of games but I personally love the community in the game, everyone’s just very nice and glad to offer any help when you ask! The game does get repetitive tho but the storyline (if that’s what you came to this game for) is interesting and not boring like 90% of these types of games. But it gets a little harder to level up to unlock the next story as you get higher and there’s also a level cap on how high you can get depending on how strong and high your “nation” (the server you first pick to use when you start the game) so id recommend to pick to join servers that have been up for a long time so the level cap is as high as possible (I didn’t know this when starting and my servers level cap is around 150ish) so do keep that in mind! ### 2/5 — A Shame *2025-03-14, version 1.0.6* Developer releases 2nd anniversary event which asks for more money from players. Rather than thanking us for spending 2 years and lots of money in your pockets you grab for more. Real sad. I’m a top 50 player in might and spend a decent amount on this game already but the greed is gone too far. They also removed a helpful buff option in the game for literally no reason. ### 5/5 — XIAO QIAN QAQ IM SORRY *2024-12-02, version 1.0.6* I downloaded this game a few years ago for fun but I didn't expect it to be so addicting to play. The animation for the characters' ultimates were surprising as they're pretty high quality. Overall, it's a very relaxing game with plenty of things to do, regular events, beautiful art, compelling storyline, etc. However, I have one problem. I CAN'T LOOK BACK ON PAST LETTERS (in character bond) AND CHANGE MY DIALOGUE FOR DIFFERENT RESPONSES!!! *ugly crying* I had spent the better part of the past two or so years on-and-off playing by raising my relationship bond with Xiao Qian (he's cute), and today I'd FINALLY filled it to the max for sweet vow. But then disaster struck! I clicked the wrong dialogue option during the final bond letter and fumbled....*head in hands* So now I'm here to formally ask for the ability to view old letters in bond and change our dialogues to see what other responses we could've gotten 🥹 (please, for the sake of my happiness...) ### 5/5 — It’s actually good?! *2024-12-01, version 1.0.6* Bro the games was actually so slay and it was giving like the story is cool teh vice acting was amazing make sure they get payed and teh ART WAS MWAH GIVE ALL THE WORKERS A RAISE YALL stop hating the games it’s so good I would recommend ### 3/5 — Hhh *2024-11-15, version 1.0.6* I feel like if a game runs ads in English it should let you pick your language once it finishes downloading all the data, but it didn’t, so I have no clue where to go to get to the settings so I can even *check* if there’s language options. Three stars cause even though I can’t play it, it’s just *so* gorgeous, so if you can read mandarin (I apologize if that isn’t the language used here, I’m just guessing mandarin because from what I remember mandarin kanji looks a lot like this but I’m just a sad white boy I apologize 😔) or are willing to try and find the settings menu, I highly recommend you check it out. Near the 3rd chapter, the cutscene was like 3 mins long and the song, drawings, graphics, everything.. was just a 10/10!! It feels a little grindy once you progress a lot more (i'm like around lvl.30, started playing yesterday). I really like the combat visuals though, nothing too crazy but not that simple. The animations are amazing though, especially for a game that's only 3.8/5 rated... Like, i'll be playing this a lot from now on until I get bored or busy. It's really surprising how I put off playing this game for a long time. Clans have rules and if you don't know them, everyone becomes a snow flake and act like you murdered someone in real life. Im not kidding. I have never lost interest in a game THAT quick in one day. Usually, we get this specific item for free every time an event like this rolls around but NO, PoL devs decide to make it PAY ONLY this time and a LOT of us players are mad. Many are disappointed, and most feel like they’ve been let down. We’re really upset with you PoL devs. Get your event back to normal. ### 1/5 — Extremely P2W Heavy. F2P players, look away *2024-09-20, version 1.0.6* This game is a nightmare for F2P players. If you are interested in playing a game that is playable as a F2P, look away. The game has extremely steep prices and even worse deals for those who may be willing or considering to pay for them. Several characters are locked behind the paywall— and are extremely expensive to unlock. With the sparse events that have greatly benefited F2P players gone, it is nearly impossible for F2P players to progress past a certain point. Each major event is few and far in between— the last major event before the current event was about 4 or 5 months. The in-game currency is difficult to obtain for F2P players and saving for limited characters takes months with the extremely high pity of 150 as each 10-pull is unnecessarily expensive. The gacha in this game is incredibly unfair and it hinders the game experience to all. The game forces you to choose between costumes and pulling characters as outfits typically cost a lot of in-game currency. Several of the servers are ghost towns even with the occasional server merges. This is an issue because several events are based on teamwork, and server levels are capped until enough players reach the requirements for it. Moderation in the game is awful as there are certain words that are randomly censored, making communication greatly difficult within the game. The ads for the game also fail to point out to battling aspect which came as a shock for many, especially as it is crucial to the gameplay. The daily tasks in this game take about an hour, most of which is AFK— which may be helpful to some, but it is very time consuming and bland for active players. After a while, there is no way to progress further in the game— typically there no events that are beneficial to F2P players and don’t require the individual to spend their hard earned in-game money. The game’s repetitiveness is often the reason why individuals quickly leave the game— leaving behind dead servers. There is no end-game content that help individuals progress too, the only semblance of end-game content is a battling tower (Wit Depositary) which has a limit of 400 and is incredibly hard to beat after a certain point and stagnates the growth of the player. Overall, this game has amazing visuals, costumes, and music but it comes with too many faults to be completely immersive and enjoyable to the F2P and casual spenders. Improvements to this game that would probably keep more active players are: - More server merges - Giving more major events that benefit F2P players - Lowering the cost of limited character gacha - Making Ingots (The in-game currency) more accessible - Make endgame content ### 1/5 — Problem with the game. *2024-09-06, version 1.0.6* Since I did the new download yesterday my screen is frozen and won’t open up the game. It’s P2W in many aspects, with many events often locked behind paywalls (and some of those paywalls can accumulate to hundreds of dollars…) but F2P players have a bunch of opportunities to get adequately strong regardless of whether they spend money or not. The art, animations, and characters are beautiful, and I like both of the storylines of the male and female mc and I like how we are able to learn and interact with few of the characters through bonds. Again, there’s generally not a lot of people in some servers so it could get lonely some times. The “rules” opposed by clans or other players with stronger mights can be a bit ridiculous, with the fact that some clans expect players to not poach active clans (I get it but it makes poaching kinda useless). And the amazing anime like cutscenes?! ### 5/5 — PoL is an outstanding game *2025-03-28, version 1.0.6* As a relatively older player whom has seen most of the game’s content and made quite a few friends while also enjoying myself, I would say PoL is a great and relaxing game to play whenever you feel like doing nothing at all. Yes, dailies can get fairly annoying— along with most things being P2W, but overall it can also be played as a F2P. I must admit I’ve spent a fortune on this game and I don’t regret it at all. However, I would enjoy more bond options since Xiao Qian is a character I have grown to admire. Beautifully written and all of the bond options are great by themselves. Case Inquiry, specifically Cattle Breeze, can definitely get updated and as most whom have played know that it’s one of the only things that cause a major headache. For example, I could finish up a certain quest, but when I try to go to others, it just says something like “Unable to go, focus on main event first.” I have no way to fix it but to exit the game entirely and come back in hopes it saved my recent data. This is not a bug problem but it’s ver annoying, so please fix it.
