### 2/5 — Amazing for zoom, not for recording on phone

I love this teleprompter. The voice scrolling is better than any teleprompter I have used. The low rating is because I cannot self-record on my phone with the teleprompter. I thought it was could when it said on the website that I could use it from my phone. Otherwise, it’s great for zoom calls and online workshops.

This is my go to prompt app that I tell everyone to use but lately it crashes when I open scripts. I’m so frustrated I’m going to switch apps after 4 years using it. The way I’ve tricked it is by pasting the new script as an edit over an old script.

I’m not sure what the developer has been doing for the past 2-3 years, but it hasn’t been improving stability, at least based on older review. Because the app today in 2025 is a buggy mess. Yes, it’s incredible when it works. It has a great feature set, and is easy to use. But that’s only when a random bug isn’t getting in your way. iPhone being used as remote disconnects randomly from the ipad, causing it to continue scrolling, causing a bad take? Yep, it happens regularly. What to open up settings to reconnect the devices? Oops, thats a freeze, time to restart the app. Need to edit a script on your macbook to make a quick change, or edit the font color? 50% chance of crash. Importing a script from a pdf or copying text over from Word? I hope your talent can read past all the “d”s or whatever random letter being replaced to some random character, making a jumbled mess of a script if you’re in a time crunch. I’ll give an extra star because the app does genuinely do great when it does work. It’s just so unreliable that I’m done with it, and am searching for a replacement. Don’t bother with this app if you need a stable platform.

As far as a teleprompter goes, it works as advertised and the remote function works flawless.  Had to knock off two stars because the import function doesn’t work.  Importing through Dropbox, Google Drive or locally all result in errors.

### 5/5 — Fantastic but 1 thing needed

Love everything about the app but sorely missing one function - when I mirror it to teleprompter, the operator using the Mac screen as reference has to read the text in mirror form while scrolling! Very frustrating

The other thing is very often studios don't have internet connection - the app doesn't work then 😞

I will work on improving the mirroring situation :) Regarding using the app when you are offline... it should work in areas with no internet, but it's not possible to load the list of scripts or edit any scripts if you do not have internet. So if you have logged in to the app at some point when you have internet, then the list of scripts will be available to you. You won't be able to edit any scripts until you have internet access again. If you need FULL control over editing scripts when offline, then I suggest you log out from the app and then skip the login page. This will mean all your scripts are kept locally on your device and not saved to our servers. (Although you won't then have access to any of the premium features as these need you to be logged in.) Ich hatte vorher mal die Software eines „Papagei-Anbieters“, aber hier ist eindeutig noch eine Steigerung drin gewesen. Nicht nur, dass es eine Möglichkeit gibt, ein iOS Gerät mit dem anderen fernzusteuern, sondern auch, dass ich die Möglichkeit eigentlich gar nicht mehr brauche, seit es die Spracherkennung gibt. Darüber hinaus bin ich wirklich begeistert von der Integration auf iOS UND Mac. So lassen sich die Skripte gut austauschen. Einziges kleines Manko ist, dass die Spracherkennung auf dem Mac irgendwie noch nicht so gut und schnell ist, wie auf den iOS Geräten. Aber dafür würde ich jetzt keinen Abzug geben, da der Rest einfach zu gut ist.

L’app en soit est super…dommage qu’un simple copier coller depuis une autre app rendre l’app absolument infernale à utiliser…

I use this tool and it works well once you have the script in.  The problem comes when you are editing the script - first, it does not pick up any formatting when I cut and paste from word into the editor.  When you are editing it gets glichy.  you select text and it unselects it, if you used a color to highlight some text and go to the next ine and want ot reuse that color you have to select it again.  It does not translate commas or apostrophes - instead it places a box.  That's an issue because it takes extra time.

This is a good non-subscription app and I thank the developer for not going down that road. I had some issues with the speech recognition timing out but the developer explained how to set up iOS up to use local speech recognition. I wish that had been included in the help section of the app but I have amended my review accordingly. This app is really good value for money.

**Developer response:** Hi there, thanks for your review but actually the limit on voice recognition is an Apple setting, not the Prompt+ app as Apple imposes limits on how many times per day the voice recognition can be used. But you can get round this by moving to using offline recognition mode by following the steps below:

- Turn off voice recognition
- Turn on voice recognition
- In the confirmation box that appears at the top, tap the language
- A list of languages will be shown. Scroll to the bottom and you should have an Offline option. Select this. (if you don't have any offline languages, you can install them in the main settings app)
- Continue to use voice recognition, there should be no limits now

This is a good non-subscription app and I thank the developer for not going down that road. Regrettably there is a big BUT which I and others cannot resolve. There is a daily limit on the amount of voice recognition that it will do, and it’s not a big limit. Once it has been exceeded it it says that speech recognition should be set up locally. I run iOS18 and speech recognition is already set up but Prompt+ won’t use it and there are no settings within the app to make it do so. The speech recognition it uses is ok provided that you’re close enough to your device but it’s not viable to use it as you cannot anticipate when it will stop. Fortunately I have another app which I bought before it became a subscription app but I’d really like to move to Prompt+ permanently so I hope that the developer can resolve this.

I’ve been looking at a number of prompter apps, and this has by far the best price-to-feature ration. No subscription, just a single low payment for all of the features that other apps tried to nickel-and-dime me for. It’s got voice-activated scrolling, horizontal and vertical screen flipping, and all the other conveniences I’m looking for in a prompter app. Couldn’t be happier.

This app has all the features of much more expensive apps. The ability to sync with an iPhone/iPad is really helpful and the voice control option works well. If you need another take the voice recognition will automatically pick up where you are starting from without the need to manually scroll back.

total rip off. It says it has a mirror and gives you the impression you can record your face and vocals while reading the script. Then you find out you have to pay $35 for an additional add-on per year to get what you originally want. You don't own it. You're just rent it total Scam now they won't give me back the 20 bucks I spent on the bait app. There are others where you spend 50 bucks and you get to keep it

This app - Prompt+ - has a one-off lifetime purchase option to unlock longer scripts. Whereas my other app, Teleprompter for Video (which includes all the features you mention like mirroring etc), has a free version and a premium version with a monthly or annual subscription. If you've paid for one thing you don't want, you can just cancel and request a refund from Apple (who process all the payments). Just installed. Paid the $20 to use longer scripts and only then discovered that the app crashes every time I try and use voice scroll. Useless.

I purchased this app specfically for the voice scroll and it doesn't work well at all.

While it does detect your voice, it often gets stuck randomly on different parts of the script. 

There's nothing more frustrating than getting near the end of a script and having to reshoot because the prompter doesn't advance. I've had this happen NUMEROUS times.

It's not worth the money.

It will work for a short period of time (perhaps a specific number of characters?), and then just stop following/listening to my voice. No matter how many times I adjust and change the text, it always stops in the middle of the dialogue and never allows me to complete. Total waste of money. Yes, I purchased this app. Wish I could get a refund.

Bought this because I have their teleprompter with video app for iPhone. Sadly, this is nowhere near as good. I purchased the extended scripts feature, only to find the voice recognition is limited to a certain amount per day. I found out the hard way, when I was a quarter of the way through a keynote, and realised I bought an app that is useless for me. I'm yet to discover whether this is the same issue on the Teleprompter with video app too. Please be aware, it doesn't state anywhere that the voice recognition feature is limited, which is incredibly misleading.
Script editing could be better as it's an incredibly tedious process at present to add formatting. Would love the ability to import a Word doc that has all the formatting in place, so everything is seamless.

I don’t use my teleprompter regularly, so paying for a subscription feels painful. 

For reference, I’ve got a 6th gen iPad, iPhone 13 Mini, and a large Neewer X14 teleprompter. The app lets me increase the text size so I can read comfortably even though the prompter sits quite far away.

The iPad recognises my voice pretty well considering the distance, but the real magic happens when I pair my phone as a remote. I sit my phone next to me and the app follows my voice perfectly. My scripts often include titles, which I don’t read aloud, but the app doesn’t get lost - it just skips past them.

Apps that respond just to sound haven't worked well for me - this one understands the words I'm reading. It’s so much better than the scrolling app I previously used. Being able to pause, speed up, or slow down, rather than keeping up with a constant scroll, makes my scripts sound much more natural.

Huge thank you to the developer for building this app and allowing people to pay a one-off price.

Ich war sehr froh, dass ich entdeckt habe, das diese App auch bei Intel Macs das Auto Scrolling funktioniert!
Das ist super, da man das sonst oft nur mit einem M-Chip bekommt.
Habe jetzt einige Tests gemacht und bin damit sehr zufrieden. Gerade weil der Promoter von Elgato halt das Autoscrolling nur mit neueren Apple-Chips kann. 
Daher schon mal 5 Sterne von mir. Das einzige was ich mir noch wünschen würde, wäre, das man die Farbe des „an dieser Textstelle bist Du“ verändern könnte. 
Also man kann das anstellen, dann ist das ein Grün. Doch ich habe noch keinen Test gemacht, ob das ggf. die Aufnahme durch den Telepromter beeinflusst. Die Textfarbe kann man auf jeden Fall einstellen.
Vielleicht kommt das ja noch

Does exactly what it should with advanced features like voice detection scrolling for a one time fee compared to other apps that charge monthly or annually!  Voice scrolling works great, to text spoken words and scrolls the prompter at your own pace versus being forced into something that’s time based and turns out being very monotone. Has all the options you would need for a teleprompter plus control with another iOS device Bluetooth device. Great paying for your buck!  Support by the developer is very prompt.

This is a wonderful app! I’ve been using it for a couple of years. It has a number of great features - sometimes you need to dig in the UI a bit to find them, but once you do they are certainly worth the effort. Integration with other iOS devices (as remote controls) is well implemented. I also use a StreamDeck+ to control the scrolling. Highly recommended.

I’ve tried just about every teleprompter app for iPad—and I was starting to think a reliable one didn’t exist. I needed voice-activated scrolling that actually worked, and none of them delivered.

Then I found Prompt+.

This app is beautifully designed, intuitive, and—most importantly—the voice scroll technology works flawlessly. As you speak, the cursor highlights each word in real-time and fades out the text you’ve already read. It’s easy to follow and incredibly accurate.
