## What is PromptersBox?

PromptersBox is an opera library built by a working singer, staged for the people who actually have to sing it.

Every opera is hand-set into act-books, line by line, so you always know what you are singing, how it sounds, and what it means.

THE SEASON
A growing library of operas, published in two editions:
- Full Study: libretto, IPA, word-for-word translation and dramaturgical analysis, with directorial notes, character dossiers and performance pitfalls.
- IPA & Translation: libretto, IPA and word-for-word translation, ready fast.
New productions join the season all the time, and you set the queue. Request an opera, or move one already in progress up the bill.

FIND YOUR ROLE
Type your role and land on your first line. Every role in every act is mapped to its entrances, so the Playbill takes you from a character's name straight to the music they sing.

THE READER
- Tap the page edges to turn.
- Day and Night paper, and the reader keeps your page.
- Search the libretto itself: the sung lines, including transliteration for operas not printed in the Latin alphabet.
- Your repertoire shelf keeps your books ready offline.

FREE SAMPLES
Every act-book opens five pages free, set at a real moment in the score, so you can read before you pay for anything.

THE FULL SEASON
One subscription opens every book in the library, starting with a 3-day free trial. Subscriptions renew until cancelled and can be managed in your App Store account settings.

A humble fan of classical. I love that the app was made by one of my favorite singers.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.0 — 2026-09-09

THE DIRECTORY

A new tab. The teachers and coaches we trust, with a globe showing where
they are now and where they will be over the coming season.

Tap a face to see who is on that continent, then tap a person to see
their whole year, city by city. Most young singers never find out that
someone they admire was in town for six weeks. That is the thing this
fixes.

Asking for a lesson takes a few taps and no writing. You choose the opera
and role you are working on, the city, the timeframe, in person or
online, and link a recording of yourself singing. The teacher sees those
choices and decides. Your email address is shared only if they accept,
and the lesson and the fee are then arranged directly between the two of
you. Nothing goes through the app and we take no part of the fee.

Under-eighteens can browse the directory but cannot send a request.

The directory opens this season and grows as artists join it.

Everything you had before is where you left it.

### 1.1.2 — 2026-09-02

The subscription screens now show the free trial only when your Apple Account is still eligible for one. An introductory offer can be used once per Apple Account, so a returning subscriber is no longer shown a trial they cannot start.

Wherever the price appears, the trial and the renewal terms now appear with it.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-09-01

IPA and Translation editions now come first, on the Season board and on every opera page.

Requesting an opera is simpler. The request sheet opens for everyone, and you only meet the subscription when you send, with the opera you asked for named on the screen. Nothing you typed is lost.

Redeem a code. A new row in Settings opens Apple's redemption sheet, so a gift or an offer code no longer means leaving the app.

The Full Season card now sits under Find your role, where you are most likely to want it.

On a locked act-book, the role list tells you what is behind the subscription instead of leaving you at a dead end.

Warmer paper in Day mode.

Fixes: the first page of a free sample now reads correctly in Night mode, and the welcome tour moves at a calmer pace.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-21

A rebuilt season, staged for singers.

- THE SEASON: the whole season rebuilt, now in two editions. Full Study (libretto, IPA, word-for-word translation and dramaturgical analysis) and IPA & Translation.
- FIND YOUR ROLE: type a role, land on its first line. Every role lists its entrances, act by act.
- LIBRETTO SEARCH: search the sung text itself, including transliteration for operas not printed in the Latin alphabet.
- THE READER: tap the page edges to turn, jump between a role's lines with one chip, and Day/Night now keeps your page.
- WELCOME TOUR: a short backstage tour on first open, ending at a free sample.
- THE BOX OFFICE: request an opera, or jump the queue for one already in progress.
