I’ve used it on and off for about 5 years now. The biggest issue is this app occasionally eats something I’ve written, and I can’t get it back. 2. Once I turned on custom prompts, it no longer shows me ones from the app, and I wanted the two to blend. I’d like to keep using this app, but I’m shopping around for a new one because I shouldn’t have to email myself the prompt archive every day to prevent the app/iCloud backup from destroying my writing. ### 3/5 — Good but needs more *2020-04-09, version 1.8.9* I like the app, but it seems a little too boring. I need more prompts and advice. Lost all of my entries. *2020-02-17* Firstly, I just want to thank the developers for taking the time to make this app completely accessible for visually impaired/blind users. When I opened the app all of my prompts/entries were gone. I didn't erase them, even though I have this issue, I am still rating the app five stars because the Dev’s absolute have done their best to answer all customers reviews. My prompts that i created this Version are there. After saving multiple notes, you save one and ALL previous notes are removed. Have been careful to be sure not to error causing this these events of losses. If this flaw is fixed would be an excellent app. ### 4/5 — Does not auto save *2020-01-18, version 1.8.9* It would be 5 stars but if you’re writing something and have to close the app for a minute or two the app doesn’t remember why you’ve written. Not only that but it also forgets the prompt your we’re working on. Really disappointing if you had done a few hundred words just to find it gone and unrecoverable. I don’t think it’s a hard thing to fix. So I only use the app for the prompts. Five years of various things. A few from just this week being my most recent works and it’s all gone. 😭 I’m in actual tears. I was typing up something and got it completed added the date and hit save only to receive and error report. It deleted everything I wrote and so I was frustrated but tried again. I hit save again and then it erased everything!! I have nothing. I tried reporting an error but reports aren’t available?! I’m devastated. I loved everything with this apps promps and easy lay out. Years of my life, growth and work gone to an app error that I cant even address. ### 1/5 — No longer maintained and other issues *2020-09-28, version 1.8.9* The app was last updated a year ago. When I reset my statistics it deleted all my work, as reported in other reviews. (Luckily, I had a back-up.) I've also always had issues synchronizing across devices. The app has very little functionalities. I do not recommend spending money on it, there are alternatives. ### 1/5 — Where are the creative prompts?? *2020-09-21, version 1.8.9* I wanted to write a story, not a journal. You should call it journal prompts. The prompts seemed random and not in line with what I was in the process of writing. ### 1/5 — Getting charged when I don’t have this app! *2019-11-16, version 1.8.9* I downloaded this app a while ago I guess but I didn’t want to keep it BECAUSE i didn’t plan on paying for anything and today my card got charged for “writing prompts” that i haven’t even been in app to purchase. ### 1/5 — Well.. *2019-07-19, version 1.8.7* It’s a great app and I love it, but one thing is unclear. When you go to erase your writing stats, be careful, because it will erase everything. Like, everything. All your writing and stuff which was extremely upsetting after I lost my 2,000 word story. ### 1/5 — I must be doing something wrong *2019-07-18* I wrote an email to the developers about an issue that is beyond annoying; moreover, I have had no choice but to gives this app one star because they have failed to respond. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong, but soon after I begin a note a prompt with a suggestions pops up. Fair enough. That aspect seems awesome. It seems very intuitive. The problem is that once I acknowledge the prompt, as soon as I begin to write another one pops up, and from then on they pop without any reason for it, which renders the app useless because it doesn’t allow me to write. Unless, I am doing something wrong. It is only when the options on the top right hand corner turn white that I can click on one that it “corrects” itself. When I do, and go back to writing, it seems to have cleared the prompt issue. The problem then is that it clears the prompt issue completely. I get no more prompts. What I was beginning to think was very intuitive, has turned out to be otherwise. ### 1/5 — error message *2019-04-14, version 1.8.5* when i try to save something, it says this: Error (625): Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=4 "The folder “IDEAS ☠️HOR.txt” doesn’t exist." UserInfo={NSURL=file:///var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/3929B4F4-C4A3-4039-A4D1-F294C6AF62FC/Documents/notes/PROMPTS/IDEAS%0A%0A%E2%98%A0%EF%B8%8FHOR.txt, NSUserStringVariant=Folder, NSUnderlyingError=0x282013810 {Error Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=2 "No such file or directory"}} ### 1/5 — Unstable and Unhelpful *2018-12-26, version 1.8.4* The app deleted all of my writings that I had over the years and the newer ones, but it also won’t save any of my current writings—giving me a bunch of error codes. When I look for options to help me, it’s nothing but promotion for the app rather than instructions or support. Please can we have a password on a future update and also the ability to arrange the different texts into folders. Great app, simple to use. It has enhanced my life. The arrangement of the daily timetabling etc with prompts has helped break writer’s bock should it come up. It just was, but recently I gave myself a 30 challenge to write something everyday. With the daily reminder and prompts, I’m on my way to a good habit. The one percent off is that syncing is glitchy and duplicated stories that I made changes to from device to device. On one sync 12 stories became 24 and deleting became a game. Deleting the duplicates through the app would not remove them from iCloud. So they would sync back to the app. Then deleting them from iCloud doesn’t and shouldn’t delete them from the app so they got synced back to iCloud when the app synced again. This has the potential to take over iCloud if with lots of duplicate stories. I’ve resigned myself to only using it on my iPad. 😞 I did not take stars because my iPad is very old and the glitch could be caused by how iOS 10 verses IOS 15 sync to iCloud. ### 5/5 — Genius, simplified, creativity starter. *2022-03-27* I always remember props in high school English classes. This is like an adult version and you can just write and write and it gets things out of your brain that you didn’t know where there or you can splash them on the paper and realize that you have a knack for writing and talent. I love it!
