I want you to put in a title and then the story and then you hit the play button icon and you assume that it’s recording you well it doesn’t go into settings and you try to turn on video recording it once you upgrade don’t like that if they’re gonna limit you to the length, it should be all the feature ### 2/5 — Terrible Lite App experience *2024-10-02, version 3.0* Downloaded this Lite version of the PromptSmart Pro Teleprompter app and it won’t let me do anything. If you want me to pay $30 for your Pro version you need to let me experience in the Lite version what the Pro version can actually do. ### 1/5 — Apps does not work as it should *2024-01-31, version 3.0* And I keep running into the issue that is start to shut down on me. Only after 5-10 times clicking the app it stays open again. And then when done with a script and press the back arrow to select the next script it shuts down again, this is over and over. Also the 7 day trial then appears at the top while I have a monthly subscription already. Also, I have tried everything including logging out and in, logging out on all devices except mobile where I used it on, also several times deleted the app and re-installed, but same issues stay. So all in all I am unhappy about this; I mean this is what you get for $19/mo? ### 1/5 — The “Lite” version is useless *2023-09-06, version 3.0* I downloaded the lite version of the app to test its abilities before paying the (Outlandish) $30 for the full version. I guess I won’t be purchasing it because the lite version has so much disabled that I couldn’t get a good idea of what this app can do. Everything that is useful is disabled, and the user is limited to 3 minutes of speech. Too bad. I’ll have to give someone else my money. ### 3/5 — Not as good as before *2023-08-30* I reset my phone and had to download all my apps from scratch. I had this app before the reset, which was pretty good though somewhat limited because I had the free version. After downloading it again, the free version is even more limited. It still works, but only for 3 minutes. That to me is not a good reflection of the app. I’m waiting for an actual teleprompter and was considering buying the full version of this software. Now, I’ll likely buy the full version of another app. ### 3/5 — Used to be great… not any more. *2023-08-06, version 3.0* I have used this app over three past 3 years. It was just a basic teleprompt with no voice recognition. However last night it automatically updated on my iPad and now I am unable to use it at all until I upgrade to the pro version and pay 29.99. The worst thing was I had downloaded a script onto it ready to give a talk this morning. I turned up to give the talk to find I was locked out of the app and my script had been whiped. Fortunately I had a paper version to fall back on. I don’t want a cleaver version with voice recognition because they are no 100% reliable. I would rather just hit pause if I was to ad-lib for a bit. ### 1/5 — Thanks for wasting my time *2023-08-05, version 3.0* I downloaded the lite version to practice and give a speech and prayer at my daughter’s wedding. All of a sudden my work is gone on the latest update. I get everything reloaded and now it tells me I’m limited to 3 minutes unless I send them thirty bucks. I find your practice distasteful and underhanded. I cannot recommend the product because of this. ### 2/5 — Doesn’t keep up *2023-06-18* The concept of an automatic teleprompter which responds to the spoken word is a great idea. I am in the market for that sort of thing and was keen to try the demo version, but it didn’t work for me. I have a very clear native English speaking voice and have done voice over work. I’m also an audio professional and can use my condenser microphones fed through digital interfaces into my iPad in order to feed optimum quality into it. The problem I found was that it didn’t keep up with my speaking speed, which is always slow and measured when speaking to camera. When I work with a prompter operated by myself or by an operator, I would expect the current text to be near the top of the screen, with at least a couple of lines of upcoming text visible. PromptSmartLite let me speak right to the bottom of the screen and I then had to pause to let it catch up. It’s also a big flaw if you end up reading the bottom line of the screen because you can’t glance ahead in order to correctly deliver the entire phrase. I tried it initially with the demo text and then with some old scripts, but it made no difference. With a camera peeping over the iPad, my eyeline was way too low for most of the time when it did scroll. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2023-05-01* This app used to offer a decent free version. Now you have to pay to get it to work. So disappointed ### 1/5 — Unpredictable - Stops working suddenly *2023-03-03, version 2.0.5* This app suddenly stops scrolling. I tried it several times and it stopped scrolling abruptly. Bad app which can harm your career if this issue leads to a horrible presentation. ### 1/5 — Can’t get voice to work *2022-11-06* I keep hearing how great this software is, so I downloaded the lite version to see if I wanted to pony up the $20 for the Pro version, but I can’t get the voice control to start for anything. I really wanted to like this over other non-voice activated ones that are pretty nice and easy to use, but it’s just not cutting it. I really wish they would give a fully functioning demo period to use the pro version to see if it works, but if this is the demo, it’s not cutting it. ### 2/5 — Unable to determine if useful; Frustrating *2022-09-08* I have been shopping for a teleprompter to use while recording videos on my iPad Pro. This may be a good app, but the limitations of the “lite” are so strict, that I couldn’t tell if it would work for what I needed. Seems like it may work, but I tried to use this app on the side and have my camera up, and the camera would start then stop. I think this may work if it’s a paid version, but their information and instructions are poor to know that. While I’m more than happy to spend $20 if it works, there’s no way to see that. Good concept, poor business model and understanding/implementation of UI/UX. ### 2/5 — Okay if you are not doing a recording or video *2022-09-01* I thought the lite version, after reading reviews, would allow me to sample doing a basic video while using the prompter. No. Would be okay as something to do a speech from, if the audience don’t mind you looking at the screen the whole time! Not prepared to pay the not cheap price and find it doesn’t work so you lost a sale there. Sad. I had high hopes. The search continues. ### 1/5 — Doesn't do the one thing it advertises... *2022-08-18, version 2.0.5* The app asks for permision to use the computers microphone and camera but it doesn't scroll when speaking. I've looked through all the settings and it appears pretty much every option requires a paid subscription. ### 1/5 — What am I missing? *2022-07-18* I have the app on my M1 Max Macbook Pro. I load the premade Gettysburg Address script. I have scrolling set to "voicetrack" and my mic is active and allowed to be used by the app... yet it doesn't scroll. There is no demo file nor can I add a small file to test the app before I buy. I have no idea if the app is any good or not. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2026-07-25, version 3.0* Was hoping this was going to solve some problems, but it’s garbage. Doesn’t work. Not intuitive. Can’t use all the features. Would be much better just to give us full access to the real app for a 3 day trial. The format looks great. But having tried to use this in action many times, I gave up in frustration with its unreliability. Sometimes it would lag behind or jump ahead of you. Not worth the stress of wondering if it will be stable, especially if you are speaking to a time limit. If you don’t mind looking unprofessional as you try and find your spot in your speech, I guess it’s ok. ### 1/5 — I couldn't get this to work at all *2024-02-17* I downloaded lite and tried to use it in "limited" mode. In this mode there is no functionality to test the product. It understood me as I read the Gettysburg address. Pace of the promoter responded to my pace. Seems to work fairly good. However, like most apps, to get the full features you have to purchase the $20 version. I was amazed at how well the app was able to keep up with my voice despite the significant echo in the large church sanctuary. My first experience with this product was also one of the most important speeches I’ve given in my life; it was invaluable. ### 5/5 — Easy & Effective *2022-03-08* I found and downloaded PromptSmart Lite just before I was going to do the Eulogy at my Mother’s funeral. I practiced with it once. I loved that you could also edit in app as I made multiple edits in the last hour and even at the funeral before I went on. The fact that it paused when I went off script allowed me to feel more comfortable with telling stories and giving good eye contact to the attendees. To download an app and use immediately, successfully, and easily for a critically significant event, like a Eulogy, is everything! Bravo PrmptSmart & Thank you!!! ### 5/5 — Exactly what I needed *2022-01-09* I gave presentation today using PrompSmart Light and it was exactly what I needed. I put my iPad on the podium and it did its best following my speech and queuing me along the way. (I also used it to practice the speech.) What I like is that I spent almost zero time figuring it out. Grab my speech, paste it in. Press go. In practicing, I slowly evolved my speech and continually cut/pasted it in as I went. I also video taped my speech for a zoom meeting but wanted better video than my iPad front camera offers so I couldn’t use the Pro features had I had it. Actually I couldn’t use this tool at all for that purpose because I couldn’t figure out a good way to hold my iPad in the right place and had to use my desktop computer (and a lesser prompter program instead) for that work. Future features: I wrote my speech in Google Docs so I could share it for others to review. Though cut/paste was fine, it would be great if I could edit my speech in Google Docs and just have it show up in the prompter. I also wish I had a way for emphasizing text… I see that the pro has some features for that. I just wanted to put words in bold or italics or to space them out in the prompter to let me visually see the desired flow of the text. The lack of those features does not deter from the fact that this is a solid program that does what it does well. Thank you. ### 5/5 — Great app - watch bkgd noise though *2021-09-03* In a quiet environment this app work amazingly well - like a magic trick. It did falter a couple times when the background environment got noisy.
