### 4/5 — Used to love this app

*2023-02-06, version 2.4*

Was a small and probably free minimalist countdown timer and definitely a one trick pony. Unfortunately 11 or 12 years later and with many Apple updates the visual countdown still works but the audible alarm is not functional. Wish some well meaning person could update it and return to full functionality.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2018-05-21, version 2.4*

Simple and direct and dies exactly what it says on the tin. Best timer I have used so far.

### 5/5 — Recommended

### 5/5 — It’s great!!!

*2017-12-21, version 2.3*

I have had all manner of different timers, alarm clocks, etc. in the cell world None I enjoy and use as much as Pronto. It continues to make my life easier...

### 4/5 — Does the job, needs icon fixed

*2017-11-26, version 2.3*

This is a pretty good and simple basic timer. I used it for lunches, breaks, timing medicine, etc.

When the developer didn’t get a 64-bit app out in time for the iOS 11 lockout of 32-bit apps, I had to scramble and buy another one (which I actually like a lot more than Pronto now). However, Pronto does have a good interface for one time, one simple push button.

Developer: please check your app on an iPad, it has no icon set (the 32-bit version did).

### 5/5 — good

*2017-10-23, version 2.3*

ok

### 5/5 — Elegantly simple

*2017-10-22, version 2.3*

Very appealing appearance and user experience
I like being able to save different timers to reuse
Can customize alarm / sound with your own music
LARGE easily visible characters
In addition to timer time, also shows hour:min that alarm starts and stops
Thanks to developer for this good work 👊🏽

### 5/5 — My favorite timer just got way better!

*2017-09-22, version 2.3*

The latest update added a sub-minute timer, and it's FANTASTIC. The seconds are accessed from a quick button press that reveals a simple slider. This is a brilliant solution because it makes selecting those small intervals just as fast and easy as bringing up a 2hr 17m interval. Even better, the seconds can be used in conjunction with the minutes.

One very, very small caveat: the seconds are selected in 5sec intervals. Realistically, if you need a timer more precise you're probably not going to use an app on your phone. In practice, however, this makes selecting the time you need super simple and fast, even on a small phone screen. It's also perfect for the overwhelming majority of reasons that you would use a timer.

Pronto is awesome. It's clean, it's quick and easy to set and use, and it's got great options for the alert. I also love the easy way it resets and let's you use different recent intervals. In fact, it has everything going exactly right. It's probably the single best timer app I've used.

...except for one critical thing that will keep it forever off of my phone: the minimum time is one minute. Another (much smaller) issue is that it has no stopwatch.

I do a lot of networking and presentations. In many groups you get 30-45 secs to talk. Not only does this mean that Pronto can't be used for the meeting, but it really can't be used to practice, either. (How long was my talk? Subtract from the original time, carry the one, and... Shoot. What was the next digit?)

Can it time my kids' time outs? Longer times? The boiling pot on the stove? Sure! ...but the sub-minute timer is what I need more than anything, and without that I just can't justify it on my phone.

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2017-09-21, version 2.3*

First update in years. After 6 years I’m still using it. It’s great easy to use. No ad. Alarm sounds nice too.

### 5/5 — Get it, use it, love it!

*2017-09-21, version 2.1*

I love this timing app and use it daily to take a power nap's and do short timings on work projects. It is simple to use, intuitive, and does exactly what I need it to do. I even like the sounds that are used at the end of the timer.

The user interface is fantastic. If you are looking for a stopwatch that has seconds, this app is not for you. There's plenty of other apps that do that well. This is more of a general timer to help you keep track of projects you're working on, cooking times in the kitchen, or power naps (like I use it for).

I'm so glad that the developer updated this App so that it will work on iOS 11. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to use it any longer with the new software update. But it works! It's awesome! Don't hesitate to get this app. Get it, use it, love it!

### 5/5 — Great Design!

*2017-09-21, version 2.3*

A strikingly simple & beautiful design.

### 5/5 — Best timer, now for iOS 11 !

*2017-09-20, version 2.3*

I don't understand some of the complaints I see. This is the easiest to use casual timer there is.

I use it all the time; it serves me well.

Thank you dev.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Pronto Deleto

*2021-09-07, version 2.4*

No instructions; unable to set. Waste of time

### 1/5 — Cannot silence!

*2017-10-22, version 2.3*

Vibrate only is not an option.

### 1/5 — Timer less than 1 min not possible. Deleted.

*2016-03-21, version 2.1*

Agree with user Hogefan. Timer less than 1 min not possible. Deleted.

### 1/5 — No Spund

*2013-08-26, version 2.0.1*

Previous version awesome, this version not so good. New features are good; however, no sound when the time has expired, just vibrating. Maybe there is a setting somewhere that I'm missing.

### 2/5 — Unreliable

*2017-11-13, version 2.3*

I want to like it. The UI is good. But on my iPad Air, it’s unreliable. After setting the time, choosing one of my songs, then starting the timer, it sometimes plays the alarm, but often just shows a message on the screen when the time is up. An alarm that may or may not sound is useless. I can't take the risk that it won't go off when I need it to.

### 2/5 — no improvement on apple's own

*2016-03-21, version 2.1*

I think apple's own timer looks better and has more different uses. Only advantage here is that it shows recently used times and that you can set minutes and seconds. But the minimum is one minute which seems a big flaw to me. Being able to time shorter times than a minute would have been the only reason for me to keep this app.

### 2/5 — Can't time less than 1 minute

*2014-12-19, version 2.1*

Looks good, but unfortunately the arbitrary limitation to a minimum of 1 minute makes it useless to me.

### 2/5 — Shortest timer is 1 minute

*2014-12-19, version 2.1*

Two problems with the simple timer. First, I can't make a 30 second timer or any timer below a minute. Even if I set the seconds first, say at 55 seconds, I can't then change the minute setting to zero.
If it were possible to do this, then the other problem would be: the change of seconds is too close to Recent. Trying to slide the seconds bar gets too often interrupted by accidentally sliding over Recents, and then you have to try it again. The wheel would be easier, especially with the limitation that seconds are in 5 second increments.

One final thing: the sounds offered are fairly obnoxious. Nothing simple and pleasant in case you want a sound that doesn't attract a lot of attention. I don't mind the sounds offered but I'd like the options of simple sounds. Most of them are musical and one in particular takes a second or more to even begin. For a timer app that has essentially one function it fails at several things.

### 2/5 — Underwhelmed

*2013-03-04, version 1.2*

Great interface, but am I missing something? Why do so few timer apps allow you to set partial minutes... i.e. seconds?

### 3/5 — Timer

*2017-10-22, version 2.3*

Needs more then one timer

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love this timer app

*2026-04-10, version 2.4*

Don’t ever “end of life this app”

### 5/5 — Je l’utilise depuis des années et j’en suis satisfait. Juste ce qu’il faut dans un minuteur!

*2023-05-25, version 2.4*

Fais exactement j’utilise le travail sans artifices. Simple à utiliser. Belle interface. Je l'utilise pour plusieurs activités.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2021-11-29, version 2.4*

Always works, one of my best reliable apps

### 5/5 — The Best of its Class for its purpose/function.

*2021-02-02*

Pronto is a simple and very well designed (countdown) timer application. It can serve as a cooking timer or as an alert for anything, e.g. time to get dressed and head out to an appointment; time to check the laundry machine; time to make a phone call, time for the TV show, etc.

There is a choice of about 15 alert tones. My go-to’s alerts are called: “Funky”, “Sax”, and “News” (a softer, more subdued tone). Funky is a middle-of-the-road tone and is my usual default setting. I use Sax for a more jarring tone — for more critical task reminders.

I love the fact that the app is default-set to “nag” you every minute that passes, until you shut it off. Most apps in this genre lack this feature - and this is really is important, if by chance you are in another room and miss the initial alert.
I still use this app *constantly* after 8 years!

### 5/5 — Magic timer app!

*2021-01-08, version 2.4*

The rotating dialer is magical. Interface is very neat that shows timer duration and end time also (No other timer app this killer feature).
Its been a while but Apple watch support is not yet available. Would love to rotate the dialer in my watch.

### 5/5 — Good App

*2020-02-15, version 2.4*

I love this app, but lately the alarm doesn’t ring.

### 5/5 — Terrific: Simplicity at its best.

*2019-03-10, version 2.4*

A timer needs to be simple and easy/quick to set. This one excels.

Rotating a single pointer around the center is far easier and quicker than using the multiple wheels of the IOS system.

PLUS, in the upper left corner it shows the START TIME and the calculated TARGET TIME.

At home I use my ten Echos and Echo Dots for timers. If it’s truly important I also use Pronto.

I recommend the cow moo as your default alarm: distinctive and can be heard in just about any environment.

### 5/5 — Convenient, quick

*2019-02-10, version 2.4*

This is my go-to timer for most applications. It's quick to set. A nice extra is that it says what the time will be when it expires.

After I wrote my previous review I discovered the mode that allows seconds control. It works, although it is still awkward to set it to expire at, say, precisely 3:35 p.m. Still, I use it often, frequently for a (say) 20-minute power nap. 5 stars.

### 5/5 — Needs an iPad version!

*2019-01-04, version 2.4*

Dude!

### 5/5 — Great little timer

*2018-08-13, version 2.4*

Works well/easy to use
