Although , I’ve used the propeller up until the sensors stop working . Than I have a heck of a time keeping track , I move my times around the clock taking them at odd times like , 1:30am then the second dose 1:30 pm , 7:30 pm , 11:30 pm , etc . I’m not complaining about the times taking my medicines , I keep a log now on when I take them at different times , and if I miss a dose or two , I stop taking it , because I can’t remember if I took it or not . I emailed that the propeller wasn’t working right , now I enter a dose on my medication and it accepts it to save , but now every time I enter a dose the it won’t let me X out of the page , and I just shut off my phone to get back into the propeller App . I just got this phone a couple of weeks ago , and it worked ok until I sent an email of the problem . I still have my old phone and it does the same thing on that phone . It enters 12 times the same dosage I just took and the time is the same also 12 times . ? Bug fix ? I don’t know , upgrade again ? Namaste’ ~LRRJenkins ### 3/5 — Nuisance *2023-01-08* I have found the propeller to be an added nuisance to my routine. I am generally good at taking prescribed medication in a timely manner. I had hoped it would help me determine why I have sporadic productive coughing each day. However, I don’t know my “triggers”. Nor do my doctors apparently. “Symptoms” don’t include “productive” cough, which is my daily problem. I am on multiple medications related to my condition and the propeller can only measure 1, so it is a nuisance to have to enter every thing every day. ### 4/5 — Amazing App! *2022-11-09, version 7.16.1* I’ve always thought inhalers should have a sensor! My only complaint, when I take an inhaled long acting medication Propeller counts this as inhaler usage in the Health App. I don’t think this should be happening. Inhaler usage in the health app should only be used for rescue inhaler usage, not inhaled control medications. ### 3/5 — If you get a free sensor, it’s great! *2022-09-04, version 7.10.0* This really helped me remember if I had taken my ellipta inhaler or not when I first started getting used to all my new treatments. However, the cost to replace the sensor is really steep and I’ll be using pen and paper to track use from now on. ### 4/5 — Helpful, but could use some improvements… *2021-08-07* Was recently a witness to a house fire 2 yards away from where I was, and inhaled some smoke, and had to take a couple of puffs of my inhaler and either the app didn’t catch that 2 puffs were taken or the device didn’t report it. Either way, I had to go in and manually edit the information. Every time I use it, it records the information in the app. The app itself, syncs with Apple Health Kit on my phone. In the past, every time I used the inhaler, I had to remember to record it in the Health Kit for my asthma specialist so I could give her the data. Now, propeller does that for me AND it provides a method for me to input what I suspect is/are the trigger(s) causing my coughing and having to use the inhaler. And, a great plus, is that the app also provides a report for the specialist. Best app I’ve downloaded in a long time. **Developer response:** Hi there! Breathe well! ### 3/5 — Good asthma tracker *2021-06-09* I have used propeller for several years to keep track of my maintenance and rescue inhaler usage. It was very useful in helping to spot triggers and trends in my asthma symptoms. I find the alarm on my maintenance inhaler to be helpful in remembering my morning and evening doses. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because the app no longer includes a tracker for my Xopenex HFA rescue inhaler. I now have to enter each use manually to keep track of it in the app, which is not convenient when I am struggling to breathe and just want to go about my normal life. Really recommend! ### 5/5 — Must download for asthma *2021-02-16* Hi all! I was diagnosed with asthma since I was a toddler. I’ve struggled all my life to monitor, control, find triggers, etc. I’ve used inhalers all my life nearly everyday. Although my asthma has improved significantly, I still find this app and inhaler device to be extremely helpful. I love that I can keep track of my symptoms and triggers. I not only get a weekly report but I can always be informed when seeing a doctor. This is very important because I am sure just like many others who suffer from asthma, we are not 100% sure how we are actually doing. Additionally, the best part (for me at least lol) is that I can beep for my inhalers because of the device. I cannot count how many times I’ve misplaced my inhalers and also needing to use them in that exact moment. This service is wonderful and has brought me to tears because there are people out there making such beautiful technology for those in need. I so sincerely appreciate this device and app. ### 4/5 — Helpful, yet... *2021-01-16* With my tendency to have things fall from my pockets, or set things down and forget about it I am glad to be able to find my rescue inhaler a lot easier with the app. Sadly, I wish there was a sensor for my controller inhaler, Alvesco. I’m not the best at remembering to take my medicine Dailey so this is the one I could definitely use the sensor to alert me with a reminder. Even better Apple Watch integration would be even more help for reminders. I don’t always have my phone with me for reminders but I almost always have my watch on. However, having the app has made me more mindful about keeping my asthma controlled. I also love the daily asthma forecasts in the summer. The weekly asthma reports can be sent to my Dr..so it's perfect. Was told I would receive free replacements when the batteries died. One was replaced a few months ago and upon the second replacement I was told that they no longer issue free replacements and that I had to pay $80 to Walgreens to get a replacement now. I set an alarm on my phone for twice a day to remind me to take my meds so I refuse to pay $80 for something that was promised me for free.. ### 1/5 — Not “selling” or accepting mew users *2022-08-06, version 7.10.0* I downloaded the app because I simply wanted to track my inhaler usage. I was happy to just enter the information via the app, but was intrigued when I found out they made a sensor for certain inhalers. Regardless even though you download the app, it’s completely non-functional because you can’t get past registration. This is completely a bait and switch, you cannot even register if you just have asthma because they’re not excepting new people. This is borderline against the Apple‘s policy of record having a non-functioning app and not disclosing. If you answered you had COPD you could complete the wizard, but only if you would pay 7999 to buy a sensor from Walgreens, that won’t even fit a pro air rescue inhaler. Well they may be good if you meet certain criteria, the apps description is misleading and it’s non-functional for me. One star was generous ### 1/5 — Error communicating with the server *2021-04-14, version 6.73.1* Could not sign up for an account, was hit with “There was an error communicating with the server, please try again later.” when I went to agree to the terms and conditions. Tried signing up with the same email and couldn’t get to the terms and conditions screen again without getting The error “the server is offline” and also couldn’t sign in with said account. Devs hit your test cases. ### 1/5 — Can’t use without sensor *2020-09-17* Read blogs online recommending this app for tracking asthma that said you could use it without the sensor but that doesn’t seem to be the case as I can’t get past the screen with the sensor to allow me to use manually. **Developer response:** Hi there! I open the app whenever I record a dose or my rescue inhaler—only to find that some entries for some dates are now missing, and the current date has several duplicate entries. I’ve been very observant of this happening over the past week since I’ve had it. One star because this issue makes the data entirely useless!! ### 1/5 — Make it clear you have to buy something *2019-09-22* I downloaded this specifically for the daily asthma forecast so I can have more control over planning my activities around when symptoms will be worse. Based on what the app allowed me to do, you can’t access ANY content unless you have the Propeller device which has to be provided either by a “sponsor” (none available) or through a medical provider - pretty sure that means it costs money. Highly disappointed the description of the app didn’t make that clear (at least to me) and I’ve wasted the time researching, downloading, trying to make it work, and writing this review. ### 1/5 — Group Name *2019-02-09, version 6.11.0* I am very interested in trying your product. During the sign up process you ask for a group name as a required field. Why would you ask this and not provide options or a way to skip this. I have sent an email and you have an automated response stating the email will be answered during business hours M-F. I tried to call and got a similar answer. Very disappointing start. ### 2/5 — Great for tracking doses, but not with air quality accuracy… *2021-07-17* I thought the point of tracking was to try to figure out what’s causing the need for inhalers with asthma and whatnot. Yes, it’s great to be able to check in the app to see the last time I used my inhaler. BUT a major flaw… if it’s being used for studies to see what might be causing issues locally or whatnot, I’d think the Air Quality portion when a dose is taken would be a high priority. I’m not sure why it says the air quality is good where I’m at. Yes, my AQI is good at 43, BUT… local dust levels are purple… Listed as Very high with WebMD allergy and Extreme with AccuWeather. I’m very very sensitive to these levels. The purpose of Propeller just doesn’t seem like it’s doing any justice in the research department if Air Quality is listed as excellent at the time I take a dose, when in fact the dust levels are off the charts. Please fix it! This app help me remind myself about taking my medication and not forgetting. When I do forget, I look at the app if I took it or not. Every time I take my medication, I have my phone and the app open like that I don’t forget to put the dose in. You have to create other gadgets for others medication that the sensor don’t fit. Like TRELLGY, I know it’s a cartridge. Definitely be hard to create a device. Has reminders for certain meds and lets me log reasons for inhaler usage to help me keep aware of my asthma triggers ### 5/5 — The best app ever *2022-10-16, version 7.14.0* Honestly, this is the best app you could ever have to both help remind you to take your inhalers, but also track your usage so it’s easier to show your providers how often you are using your rescue inhaler and whatnot. Being able to pull up my history has been a game changer when my doctor asks how often I have need to use my inhaler and I can provide the time if day and triggers.
