Turns out I was the one not doing things right as far as setup and once I did the app works really well. I’m able to sit behind drum sets and hit record and cue up my stuff when I’m alone and also go into the sound booth and record vocals with nothing but the iPad which is great. I went to download it only to see this meaasge " Proremote Server is currently incompatible with all Windows versions of Pro Tools " Which for me means I just blew 10.00 on a app that will not work for me how nice!!! ### 4/5 — Pro Remote Light a Plus *2012-10-07, version 2.5.4* After setting up Pro Remote Light with Pro Tools Native on an iMac and HD on a Power Mac Pro, I found this App easy and intuitive to use. For a simple remote control of transport and basic fader/pan controls, this App performed flawlessly. I run a mobile recording service and would update the Lite version to the full version, if and when the App were to include control over aux sends, whereby I could control headphone mixes for musicians whilst interacting directly with them or better still, allow them to balance the headphone mix themselves. I see no other need for addition to design, apart from this and fully embrace the simplistic approach to the developers design. Until then, I will use the Lite version for basic control over the more simple projects on our books. It's set to revolutionize the way in which we work. And I discover ProRemote LE. Installation was easy, and I email Alex (the Creator) and he gave me a response 10 minutes later (on a Thursday night at 9:30 pm!!!!) amazing service and amazing App, looking for the full version now!!! Thank's! ### 5/5 — Works perfectly !!! *2012-05-16, version 2.5.2* When I read the reviews of the full version where some had problems I went for this cheaper version in case I had the same issue - It worked straight away and I immediately bought the add-ons to upgrade to the full version. Now I can stay sat at my drums and record take after take effortlessly, the transport and undo upgrades make this a synch! So pleased that I have found this new Protools freedom (I'm using version 10). This is on an ITouch as well and this app alone is convincing me to get an IPad just to enjoy this even more. If you are having problems then I'd say check you followed the instructions properly or maybe it is a device / protools setup issue. This App is dedicated to Protools and I can't see how other non Protools specific apps can come close to this. Brilliant! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Waste of money *2021-01-10* Just downloaded this app with the purpose of recording myself while I’m away from my console. Ableton won’t even recognize the midi device. Hence I cannot even follow through with the steps on the website. Buyer beware. Running MacOS Big Sur **Developer response:** Big Sur support is currently being tested and a new version of the MIDI driver and server should be released shortly. I did set up everything according to instructions on their website and it just doesn't work. My ipad recognizes it but once I click on any fader or transport control, it play one note from the sound in the selected track. It does not recognize my tracks in every song. This app is awesome once you read the instructions carefully. It works with Protools flawlessly and other DAWs. I spent at least 24hrs trying to get to work without that info and was about to give up until this latest instruction guide came across my attention. Thanks Far Out Labs, My apologies again. Sometimes I hand the remote to the client to start and stop when they are ready. I find that really speeds up the process. I had to upgrade the transport to be able to return to zero. But works amazingly well with Pro Tools 9 in my project studio on my iPhone 4S. My only gripe is getting to the transport screen can be a pain sometimes. Especially if the mini transport bar is in the way. I hope the improve that. I highly recommend this app. If you work alone in your studio and play instruments too, now you can control your DAW from the live room. Amazing!!! ### 5/5 — Reading is fundamental *2012-10-26, version 2.5.4* If you don't read everything prior to purchasing, things may go wrong.however this is a great option if you do or don't have a control surface. I do and find switching between the 2 are easy if you read the instructions. I would recommend this app for any computer based musician needing a hui.👍✌ ### 5/5 — I use it all day every day *2012-09-07* On the iPad in landscape mode it has 16 channels on screen at once, all with good sized solo & mute buttons. I love it. This update fixes an issue that in Pro Tools with solo set to X-or, you can now solo more than one channel if you press the solo buttons at the same time. This is the way it works on a physical Hui and it's a welcome fix. Good connectivity to my Mac, and works with Pro Tools 10 really well. I'm also using it at a studio with lots of other people around with a tight security on the network. So if anyone is having trouble connecting, try creating an ad-hoc network on your machine from the Network control panel.
