### 4/5 — Amazing writers

*2024-04-21*

Fantastic writers and coverage. Only loses a star for not having dark mode support. Too glaring to read in bed in low light conditions at night.

### 4/5 — London Mayororial contest.

*2024-03-26*

Well!!
Sort of a beat-up, London is a separate country, the product of the rest of England excluding the capital is the equivalent of the state of Louisiana. Londinistan will go it's own way and ride it's own wave. The financial capital, the old city of London is inevitably moving to the European mainland but as its all electronic now-will it matter.

### 3/5 — When it works, great

*2023-06-16*

It’s glitchy, that’s my only issue with it. Sometimes it just won’t open, pops up for a half second and then closes itself. Other times it downloads the article just fine and is really easy to read on. If it could be a little more reliable it would be top marks.

### 4/5 — Exceptionally thoughtful articles

*2020-09-13*

Prospect is full of exceptionally thoughtful articles on a variety of topics. Not necessarily an easy read, but well-written and intelligent. The app has improved enormously since the reviews of two or three years ago and now works fine on the iPad, offering ‘reader view’ and proper scrolling.

### 3/5 — Generally good, one caveat

*2020-07-31, version 6.2.1*

The content of the magazine is top quality and good value. I’d like however to have access to separate articles on the app as per the website.

### 5/5 — Sensational

*2020-05-18, version 6.1.0*

Truly a world class magazine. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Great way to enjoy Prospect

*2020-04-15*

App works well on iPad. A better experience than reading pieces on the website - a useful complement to the print edition

### 5/5 — The Best British Magazine Out There

*2020-04-07*

As a native speaker of both French & British English, I can say with confidence that this is the very best magazine available today. They offer differing opinions, in articles that are well researched, fully articulated and often opinionated — in the best possible way!
Thank you Prospect!

### 5/5 — Prospect App

*2020-02-24, version 6.0.0*

Great informative magazine, love having it on the app ... makes reading on the commute so easy 👍🏻

### 5/5 — 10/10

*2020-02-19, version 6.0.0*

Very informative! Recommend the app to all my family & friends

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2020-02-17, version 6.0.0*

Great app, very easy to follow and works well across all my devices.

Would highly recommend!

### 2/5 — Login fail repeatedly

*2019-09-07, version 6.0.0*

I have a subscription, it lets me login ,but still wants payment.

Customer Service is no help.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — More partisan flummery

*2025-12-16*

This magazine doesn’t hide its lockstep ideological alignment with the ruling left. Intellectually vitiated yet potentially edifying — at least insofar as it illuminates the elitist ideology that dominates discourse today. Best read alongside more marginalised, countervailing voices from the political centre and right for balance. Otherwise, there is little to recommend here: Bog-standard misinformation and the earnest spin of tired agitprop delivered with dismissive parochialism.

### 1/5 — Unable to access

*2024-07-22, version 8.0.0*

The login page is glitchy so still not able to access the content

### 1/5 — Useless app

*2024-05-04, version 8.0.0*

I’ve tried to log-in for the past two days. I’ve got another two editions to receive on the special offer I took up. At this rate I won’t be bothering to extend my membership once they run out.

### 1/5 — The magazine is good, but ...

*2024-02-02, version 8.0.0*

the app is a catastrophe. That is all. Before 8.0 it had a view ofthe magazine issues which was perfectly usable. Now it doesn't: it has a PDF copy ofthe magazine with a terrible viewer, or a different view of articles ... which splices ads into them.

This is just rubbish. It's very sad.

### 1/5 — Awful app

*2022-02-28*

Prospect is a decent magazine. However, it is really let down by this app which is what this review is for.

The app should not try to replicate the hard copy. It does not need to. It makes it more difficult to navigate. Take a leaf out of The Economist’s book. They’ve shown how it should be done.

### 1/5 — The app is terrible

*2019-11-03*

Prospect is a great, high quality magazine - they should be embarrassed about this app, it is awful. I have a subscription but cannot log in - I’ve tried everything. On the one time I logged in it was pretty rubbish anyway - clunky, difficult to navigate and just essentially full page prints of the magazine, not optimised for a device in any way. Deleted.

### 1/5 — No Prospect

*2019-10-26, version 6.0.0*

Just downloaded this app. As a subscriber to the magazine I was keen. Unfortunately on launch it just goes to a white screen. Nothing. As the last update was a year ago, has this been abandoned by the developer?

### 1/5 — This app is rubbish

*2019-10-10*

If I could give it 0 I would. Every time I open it it wants me to login but it doesn’t remember the status. As I have a print subscription I expect to have access to a digital version of of each copy. However that isn’t the case. I have other subscriptions-Economist, LRB that work fine.
I have removed this as it is FRUSTRATINGLY BAD.

### 1/5 — The thinking man's App!

*2018-09-12*

Prospect has for a long time been the magazine for those of us who want proper debate not soundbites.

The app version continues the magazine's tradition of non-partisan ideas that challenge your set beliefs. I would thoroughly recommend it.

The update to the app has made reading Prospect in this format much more enjoyable too.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2018-07-20, version 6.0.0*

This is a totally useless app for an excellent magazine. As a subscriber I seem to be in an endless loop between this app and Pocketmags and I’m unable to access my magazine issues from either app. Why is it that some apps such as the Economist are so user-friendly when others like this sap one’s will to live?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Chefs Kiss

*2025-04-26, version 8.0.4*

I’ve never heard of Prospect Magazine in my puff. Better late than never. The writing is a joy.

### 5/5 — Even better than the magazine

*2025-01-19*

I loved the magazine but always felt pressure to read cover to cover before the next issue. I am loving the articles dropping regularly onto my phone. There are very few authors I haven’t enjoyed, and I love the mix of thought provoking and more general content.

### 5/5 — On point

*2024-11-16*

This magazine has really accurate factual analysis and I enjoy its point of view. Allows me to think about applying UK lessons locally.

### 5/5 — Very good articles and presentation

*2024-03-31*

The recent improvements make the app a great way to read the magazine. Well done to everyone involved!

### 5/5 — Impressive journalism

*2024-02-11*

I really enjoy reading Prospect. In-depth and well researched articles that are well balanced. The new app has enhanced the experience greatly

### 5/5 — Great re-design

*2024-02-10, version 8.0.0*

The new app is a big improvement. Works well and the notifications remind me to read the great content

### 5/5 — New app

*2024-02-09*

The new app from Prospect is intuitive and has amazing new features. From the audio editions of articles, being able to bookmark articles to read later and also being able to listen to Media Confidential. A great app that I can’t fault.

### 5/5 — Great new App from Prospect

*2024-02-08, version 8.0.0*

Thrilled to have this new app so I can read Prospect on the go. So easy to use and great content.

### 5/5 — Long News

*2022-04-20*

I enjoy the level of detail and analysis in the articles and the range of opinions expressed. Thank you

### 5/5 — Consistently high quality insight from a full spectrum of political views.

*2022-03-27*

I have been reading Prospect for nearly ten years and have found it to be an excellent location for informative articles and insightful commentary across a broad range of high impact political and geopolitical events from IndyRef, Brexit, De Pfieffel’s debacle on covid throughly Putin’s war in Ukraine. Keep up the great work.
