## Newest reviews (10 of 199)

### 3/5 — It’s ok

*2026-08-06, version 2.54.0*

I like it but it cost money

### 2/5 — This app charges you even though you did not use anything in the app to warrant being charged .

*2026-07-18, version 2.53.0*

This app charges you even if you don’t use anything that costs. It’s a rip off

### 3/5 — Questions

*2026-07-15, version 2.53.0*

I need help with this app. Things I put in disappear frequently.

### 4/5 — Protein tracking is awesome! But….

*2026-06-21, version 2.51.0*

Nutritional calculator for recipes isn’t accurate. Calories are WAY understated. Add ingredients to the tracker individually if tracking both proteins and calories with this app.

### 2/5 — No features

*2026-06-16, version 2.51.0*

This app forces you to go to paid prescription if you want to do basic calorie tracking using camera or keying in database. Free app is nothing more than a calculator where you enter all the food data manually.

### 3/5 — Pro

*2026-06-10, version 2.51.0*

Im ready to try the app. Its my first time downloading it , but I just don’t understand why I have to go pro right away just to experience the app. I’m trying to see if I like it first. Yes there’s the 7 day trial, but the fact that I try to log something in and I have to be forced to try the seven day trial or pay for a membership is kind of annoying.

### 3/5 — food options

*2026-05-19, version 2.49.0*

I wish it had more options, as there’s a lot of foods or protein drinks that are not found unless i scan the label (also it does not scan perfectly sometimes, but not too often to bother me)

### 5/5 — So Easy to Use!

*2026-05-18, version 2.49.0*

I love this app, it’s so easy to use. It is a GREAT TOOL to help you keep track of what you are eating, exercise and even if you are taking a GLP 1. It reminds you occasionally throughout your day to record your food.
It’s not expensive at all, check it out! 😎

### 5/5 — Exactly what I need

*2026-05-13, version 2.49.0*

UX suggestion, can’t add things to list when input for protein is empty

### 3/5 — Canceled due to app issue

*2026-05-03, version 2.48.0*

Would have kept it past the free trial if it didn’t force me to login every single time. And by login I mean it made me submit everything (age, height, goals) EVERY SINGLE TIME I went in to just log a meal.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Can’t open to try

*2026-07-30, version 2.54.0*

Doesn’t work on iPhone 17 or iPad

### 1/5 — Free version useless

*2026-07-29, version 2.53.0*

If u don’t pay, the app won’t tell you how much protein is in the food and is pretty useless

### 1/5 — $$ cost to track protein

*2026-07-26, version 2.53.0*

Didn’t use the app because I couldn’t look up a burrito unless I signed up for a trial. Well I just used AI to add up my protein and kept it in my notes. Free. Easier than the app. Deleting this right away

### 1/5 — Bait and switch pricing—DO NOT BUY

*2026-07-23, version 2.53.0*

Do not trust this app! Their paywall screen advertises $2.99 a month to get you to sign up, but when you check out, it secretly charges you $3.99 EVERY WEEK. That is completely misleading and deceptive. The app itself is fine, but pulling sneaky pricing tactics like this is unacceptable. I canceled immediately and requested a full refund from Apple. Beware!

### 1/5 — Database limited

*2026-07-09, version 2.53.0*

I have had to create many of my own foods because the database is so limited. Even when I scan the barcode it comes up as an error. Even when it does find the item in the database it nutritional information is wrong. I have had to take a photo of the nutritional information the add in the titile of the food. I am paying for this and it is annoying so I am now considering changing to a better app.

### 1/5 — Wow I love Paying for Basic Features!!!

*2026-06-20, version 2.51.0*

don’t you love getting spammed with forceful subscription options every time you open an app?? you physically can’t use this app if unless you waste money on something that can be accomplished with a pen and paper. There’s A MILLION PROTEIN TRACKERS- PICK ANY OTHER ONE.

### 1/5 — Payment

*2026-06-14, version 2.51.0*

Not looking forward to paying

### 1/5 — 1 star

*2026-05-29, version 2.50.0*

You have to pay

### 1/5 — limited if you don’t pay

*2026-05-20, version 2.49.0*

I hate apps like these if I’m being honest, I need an app to easily track my protein intake. Unless you pay, you can’t even look up an ingredient to track, it has to be free typed completely - the calorie and the protein. That kind of defeats the purpose as to why I even got the app. If i wanted to free type everything then I would just stick to my notes app and not have downloaded this to begin with. Waste of time.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-05-17, version 2.49.0*

Don't charge people's card when they sign up for 7 day free trial! You charged my card right away when I signed up for 7 days free! Scammers!!!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Terrible barcode scanner

*2026-07-25, version 2.53.0*

Paid for premium and half of my barcodes for food just wont scan, no matter the light, angle, or how perfect of a shot i get, it simply wont scan.

### 5/5 — Love!

*2026-07-25, version 2.53.0*

I love this app! Makes teaching my protein intake so easy!

### 5/5 — Worth it!

*2026-07-19*

I found this app to be invaluable. I’m going through chemotherapy currently and need to make sure I have a minimum amount of protein, this makes it very easy to track using the photos or the direct input methods. I’m very appreciative of how well it works. Definitely worth the cost.

### 5/5 — Helpful

*2026-07-06, version 2.53.0*

I like it but think it could be improved.

### 5/5 — Easy

*2026-07-06, version 2.53.0*

Just what I needed to help easily track my protein. I love that I can look up my foods several different ways.

### 5/5 — You should use this

*2026-06-13, version 2.51.0*

Great transition from paid apps like Appediet, certainly best for hypertrophy!

### 5/5 — Literally perfect

*2026-06-10, version 2.51.0*

Bro i love this app, you dont need to constantly be reminded of the subscription to enjoy the app. You can track everything on their super simple no problem and you can change the app icon to a cute dog and you can compare your results each month or year and it actually makes calorie and protein and fibre tracking actually fun !

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-06-04*

I think this app is great. I use it daily and it really helps me keep tracking of calories and protein. I would really recommend the ability to track other key nutrients such as fat, carbs, sodium, and even water intake. I would like to start tracking this stuff and don’t want to download another app just for it.

### 5/5 — Best protein tracker app!

*2026-05-29, version 2.50.0*

Intuitive interface, great database.

### 5/5 — Wasn’t sure, but now I’m obsessed

*2026-05-25*

Love this app so much. I bought a different one and hated it as soon as I got full access, so I deleted it same day. I continued searching and found Protein Pal. My diet has completely changed overnight because tracking is so incredibly easy with the app. Feeling very excited about losing weight and changing my lifestyle- hoping I can get my husband to use it too.
