### 2/5 — Update

*2026-05-07, version 1.4*

Please update for OS18, thanks

### 1/5 — The horror.

*2021-04-10, version 1.4*

This app is so buggy it does not even function. I have a masters degree in electrical engineering and whoever designed this didn’t finish the job. Very disappointing to have invested thousands of dollars and several of these and not be able to use them as advertised. Please pick up the ball JBL!

### 1/5 — DONT USE

*2020-08-08, version 1.4*

This app frankly does not work. I have a brand new JBL PRX818 Sub, managed to connect it to the app via WiFi, and then had no control of the speaker whatsoever. DO NOT USE, DOESNT WORK!

### 2/5 — Please update for iOS 13.3.1

*2020-03-08, version 1.4*

I am able to use the app as intended with my old iPad Gen3 but it simply will not find the PRX speakers using my iPad Gen6 running iOS 13.3.1. For all the hype of the app as a current selling feature of the PRX line I feel a little attention and upgrading to the app is in order.

### 4/5 — Not bad

*2020-02-12, version 1.4*

No, it won't work on your iPhone, for now.
Luckily I had a first generation iPad.
Everything seems to work the way it should. It did take me a little while to figure out and I'm still learning the effects as I type.
Keep your gain low when learning the app, I can see how you could blow your speakers like another review said.

### 2/5 — CONNECTIVITY

*2019-06-29*

I have constant connectivity issues using this app’, so frustrating have to start from scratch and then multiple times. (Delete reinstall) when it’s working it’s great but getting over it big time!
Today went use the app and now the ‘real-time’ metering isn’t working (so gave up) not at all happy using it if I can’t see how hard the sub is working

### 2/5 — Not Available for iPhone IOS "Device

*2017-06-19, version 1.3*

Bought a pair of PRX815W powered & wifi speakers with poles of $1900.00, based on the representation by the salesman they could be configured with this software on my iPhone. Drove home 200 miles, set them up, go to download the app..."for iPad only." So, if I want to keep them I have to either buy an iPad or a mixer & cables. Notified the salesman who said he got his info directly from JBL(Pro) website, which I confirmed, works on your "IOS or Android DEVICE." JBL should change that word to TABLET. The speakers sound ok, but now I am stuck without configurability & won't know what they could sound like. Note: To use the app for wifi configuring, you also MUST BUY A DEDICATED ROUTER.

### 1/5 — No iPhone compatibility... Fail.

*2017-06-02, version 1.3*

So, I went out and bought a JBL PRX818XLFW subwoofer. Got it home. Plugged it in. Read the manual. There are exactly ZERO controls on the back of this sub. It's all controlled through the software. EQ, etc is un-controllable from the unit itself. Did the research, and found that "PRX Connect" is the app I need. I look it up on my iPhone in the App Store, and guess what? It's not there. I logged into iTunes from my PC, and figured out that the PRX Connect app is ONLY useable from an iPad. What??? Yes, it's true, You can't control the sub with an iPhone, because this app is made only for the iPad. It's also useable on Android Tablets, but not on Android phones. What gives, JBL? Due to this problem, I am returning the sub. It's totally useless. I an not going to buy an iPad or any other tablet just to be able to control this subwoofer. You've lost a customer for life, JBL. You wasted my day and made me incredibly mad for having to drive all around town TWICE and then spend an hour and a half figuring out why I can't use my new sub. You're lame.

### 2/5 — Use with caution

*2017-02-12, version 1.3*

I got the JBL PRX800 series speakers and subwoofers after a few months of research. One of the selling points was that I'd be able to use this app to EQ the system. I had an older Behringer system that got the job done but did not look good and the system would peak all the time if used for a big room. I've heard about JBL and was excited to get them. I got 2 15 inch PAs and 2 18 inch subs. Initially the system was not as loud as you'd expect for something you just paid over $4000 for. I'm used to only turning the gain on speakers to about 12 o'clock position (straight up) and adjusting the volume from my mixer. Well for these I had to turn to almost the 3 o'clock position on the PAs and subs to get a similar volume that I'm used to with my old system. I finally decided to download the app and give it a try. I'm a tech guy so stuff like this is easy. One of the speakers took forever to connect. I had to finally just start over to get it to work. Once I got it connected I thought you'd be able to adjust the sound with a click of a button to get some dramatic sound difference. Well that wasn't the case. Unless you know a lot about digital EQ systems it may be difficult other that just moving the graphs to make it louder. One good thing was that instead of just guessing I was able to get an exact number that I was adjusting the db to. It was cool to feel like I was doing something but at the end I wasn't doing much of anything but just messing with some levels that did not make all that big of a difference, until... out of nowhere there was a deafening screaming noise coming from the speakers. I shut off the main power and made sure the speakers volume was ok and saw that the levels on the graph were super high for no reason so I press the flat button then turned it on again to the same result. I even took the XLR cable out and it was still doing it. Not sure what happened but now I think 2 of my speakers (1 PA 1 sub) are about to go out as the volume on them is drastically lower and sounds nowhere near as good as the other 2. App may be useful to some but it damaged $2000 of equipment. Highly disappointed right now. Have to wait til Monday to talk to JBL to see about doing a warranty claim.
