## What is PSWD?

PSWD is a comprehensive strong password generator for Mac, iPhone and iPad.

Features of PSWD:

• Four generation modes: random characters, pronounceable passwords that follow a consonant–vowel pattern, passphrases built from dictionary words, and dice for games
• Word passphrases in nine languages — English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Chinese and a hand-crafted Turkish list — mix several at once, or import your own word list synced through iCloud
• Remove diacritics from a passphrase for sites that only accept plain ASCII letters
• Passwords up to 128 characters, one or many at a time
• Minimum or exact counts per character class — uppercase, lowercase, digits, symbols, and your own custom set
• Exclude specific characters, or skip ambiguous look-alikes like 0 O o 1 l I
• Group characters with a separator at regular intervals for readability
• Entropy and strength calculated live as you configure
• Save presets and load them anywhere — they sync between your devices through iCloud
• Generate passwords from the Shortcuts app without opening PSWD
• On the Mac: a menu bar panel, a system-wide global shortcut that generates and copies in one press, open at login, and an optional hidden Dock icon

in der version 5.0 konnte man nur noch ein kennwort kopieren. wenn mehrere kennwörter erzeugt wurden bekam man nur das erste in die zwischenablage. - aber hey mit der 5.1 funktioniert das auch wieder. der entwickler hat das in kürzester zeit gefixt - applaus - danke. ich kann die app nur empfehlen - sie ist seit jahren mein begleiter, wenn es drum geht schnell mal ein gutes kennwort zu generieren. die GUI ist zwar jetzt doppelt so groß wie vorher und nimmt entsprechend platz ein, aber mit dem eintrag in die menüzeile ist das mehr wie wett gemacht - danke.

VERSION 4.1: Impressive program that has almost every variable desired.  It’s well-designed, highly customizable and fast too.  This is too good to be free, and there's a tip jar hiding in the "i" button.  The author is very responsive to feedback and has added many of my suggestions.

• Combine several languages at once for a larger word pool and higher entropy
• Import your own word list and build passphrases from it — synced across your devices through iCloud

PSWD 5.1 adds a dice mode for games, new generation rules, and accessibility options.

• New Dice mode: toss one to ten dice with 2 to 100 sides, flip coins, or show the traditional dot faces
• New rules for the character modes: avoid symbols at the ends of the password, and avoid repeated characters
• New accessibility settings: show all passwords at the same size, and adjust the password text size
• The Copy button now copies every generated password, not just the first
• Mac: hover over one password of a set to copy just that one; numeric fields respond to the arrow keys
• Mac: the settings spread across two, three or four columns as you resize the window
• iPhone and iPad: haptic feedback on Copy and Generate, and an optional shake to generate — dice included
• The Length card shows the effective character count while separators are on

Plus smaller fixes: window focus from the menu bar panel, more reliable Copy and Generate buttons on iOS, and preset names no longer carry between password and dice configurations.
