### 3/5 — “Draw redoses individually” doesn’t work

*2026-05-01, version 14.1*

This is a useful app and has a modern and clean feel which suits the topic. Unfortunately the “Draw redoses individually” on the settings doesn’t work and doesn’t stack the doses under each other on the tolerance timeline; this makes seeing how each dose of the same drug interacts with each other impossible.

### 4/5 — Works great, with a catch

*2026-03-07, version 14.0*

This app works great, it’s well designed very functional and honestly there’s nothing else quite like it. Very helpful for tracking your medications, other substances, times, or learning some information related to it.
The developer really put a lot of time and effort into it which I’m considering when I bring up my next part- it was always free to use for years apparently and around six months ago an update released which basically requires a subscription to use the app beyond extremely basic functionality. It is noted that the dev was/is willing to help people out with a temporary pass for people who can’t afford it, however- I think it would be better if there could be an option to either pay for subscription OR have an ad supported tier that is fully functional as opposed to limiting the functionality or paying. I think the developer did work very hard and created a masterpiece, and deserves to see some money for his creation- but should give us the option for an ad supported option if we can’t pay for a subscription. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

### 2/5 — horribly dangerous new update

*2026-01-31, version 13.3*

it is so incredibly disappointing to see the new update where you have to pay to enter more than 3 substances (or your 3 most used if you've been using it since before the update). this change is clearly exclusively cash motivated and sets a very dangerous precedent for a harm-reduction app. poly-substance users deserve harm reduction and easily accesible drug safety information within the app too, and for an site that focuses on substance information and harm reduction this is a dangerous and disgusting decision.

### 2/5 — Used to be amazing, new updatehas ruined it

*2025-12-29, version 13.0*

The new update has made it so that you’re only able to input your 3 most used substances, which is not only annoying, but also possibly dangerous as I use the app to make sure that I’m not using to often. The only way to get around this is by paying, which was never the case beforehand, I understand that they need money to support the development of the app, however the way they’ve done it, completely ruins the app for me.
I also recently reinstalled the app after switching phones and found out that you're not able to select the limited choice you have, after importing my old data, I've come to find that I'm unable to select any at all, this app is fall from grace

### 4/5 — Pay to use???

*2025-11-30, version 13.0*

It’s been free for YEARS, but now you have to pay to log more than three substances. What a total letdown… I deleted the app immediately as soon as I saw the prompt.

### 1/5 — Greedy jerks

*2025-10-23, version 12.6*

They went subscription based, this helped out so much now it’s useless

### 1/5 — Added subscriptions to harm reduction

*2025-10-20, version 12.6*

Used to be free for years. Now you have to pay a subscription to track 3 items. Not worth it anymore and you're better off using your own paper and pen. And to think I used to glaze this app

### 1/5 — Premium?? Really??

*2025-10-11, version 12.6*

To add premium to an app that many consider extremely useful and helps stop deaths is incredibly scummy, what an absolute shame how bad this app has fallen

### 1/5 — Excuse me

*2025-10-05, version 12.6*

Harm reduction and education should be free.

### 1/5 — Unacceptable Subscription Model

*2025-09-27, version 12.6*

Now that this app requires a subscription to log experiences outside of your three most used, it has become essentially worthless. Having to email the author to get a few free months of a subscription just to use an essential feature of a HARM REDUCTION app is absurd. The folks running the Psychonautwiki are ghouls, pure and simple, and they care neither for your health nor your safety.

### 1/5 — Harm reduction

*2025-09-25, version 12.6*

The app keeps harm reduction behind a pay wall

### 1/5 — Unethical

*2025-09-22, version 12.4*

Added paywall to previously free features, moved development to private repo. Completely goes against the point of this type of app and ruined a perfectly good thing for no reason. For shame

### 1/5 — Added subscriptions to harm reduction

*2025-09-20*

Used to be free for years. Now you have to pay a subscription to track 3 items. Not worth it anymore and you're better off using your own paper and pen. And to think I used to glaze this app

### 1/5 — Free features locked behind paywall

*2025-09-20, version 12.3*

The new update locks features that used to be free behind a subscription paywall. They shouldn’t take away features like that.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Used to be helpful

*2026-05-21, version 15.0*

and free, now you pay a subscription.

### 1/5 — Great Tool RUINED

*2026-03-26, version 14.1*

OLD REVIEW: Absolutely would recommend! Psychonautwiki is one of my favorite resources

NEW REVIEW: App is horrible after update. Subscription ruined it. Delete this app.

### 1/5 — App has lost everything that even made it good

*2026-02-27, version 14.0*

This app used to help me a lot with harm reduction and can even say a life saver for everyone I introduced it too, now with the whole subscription thing it’s become basically unusable, and all the useful information and tools in the
app are practically gone, the app just sucks now, bring back what made the app great and just give us ads if yall want to profit

### 1/5 — Subscription for this??? PsyLog Journal is free, install it thru TestFlight. GREEDY DEV!!!

*2026-02-20, version 14.0*

I really liked this app for like two weeks, until I hit a paywall. You are required to pay if you want to log more than three substances. There’s no active service being provided that warrants a subscription, it’s literally only for the access. Who would pay $70 or $20/yr or $3/month for that?? Greed over harm reduction ig✌️I found thru Reddit this app called PsyLog, gotta get it thru apple’s TestFlight since the app is still technically in development. Very similar app which serve the exact same purpose, but those devs have morals and will never charge for harm reduction. I’m doing this on my own accord because I’m disgusted by this level of greed by these devs. Y’all should be ashamed. So many more user friendly ways to make revenue off this app, but instead y’all lazy mfers slapped a subscription onto it. Literally for an app that’s basically MS Excel in a proper UI.

### 1/5 — disappointed to see this app turn into a cash grab

*2026-01-28, version 13.3*

i used this app religiously for 3 years on an almost daily basis until the recent update made it completely useless without paying. I don't mind supporting the development but paywalling long time users out of nowhere and hiding the open source repository is unnecessarily hostile for an app that pretends to promote harm reduction.

i say cash grab because the app was already feature complete, never updated, and has no infrastructure costs (it's completely offline/local). I've switched to using a clone made of the open source repo before the code was hidden which works completely fine, exemplifying how gross the developer's actions have been.

### 1/5 — Premium

*2026-01-26, version 13.2*

Why does every app need a subscription over the past few years? It’s $3 CAD a month and I’m stupidly paying for it because the free version is unusable unless you only log 3 substances max.

### 1/5 — Paywalled app

*2025-12-21, version 13.0*

It was free but as it got more popular they paywalled it. Uninstall it

### 1/5 — Paywall is MAJOR disappointment

*2025-12-17, version 13.0*

This app was meant for harm reduction, and putting the amount of substances that could be journaled behind a monthly paywall is a cold shoulder to everyone who gave your app exposure and supported you. It is like laughing in the face of harm reduction. There is no excuse for making this app have a monthly fee paywall. It's not even the point that it's now inaccessible to people who can’t afford it. You could have made another app or found another way to make money. Your decision to paywall is another reminder that not everyone is a comrade, and that people in tech who claim to care about our wellbeing or harm reduction will prioritize their own interests above the security of others.

### 1/5 — Dev Cares More About Lining His Pockets Than Harm Reduction

*2025-12-09, version 13.0*

Now you have to pay to log more than 3 substances. I’ve used this app forever, and now I’m stuck with the 3 things I USED to take because those have the most entries. This app went from being about harm reduction to a means of lining the dev’s pocket probably at the cost of a few lives, and many more people’s personal well being. Scummy and sleazy.

### 1/5 — Ridiculous subscription fee for a free website

*2025-10-31, version 12.6*

Insane to start charging for this, when the functionality is already there, and there are no ongoing data costs as it just pulls from the wiki itself for info.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Such a great app!

*2026-04-24, version 14.1*

Wondering if there is a tutorial on all the things you can do with it. I'm slightly confused on how to log some things.

### 5/5 — helps the people

*2025-12-24, version 13.0*

keeps me on track, keeps me accountable and keeps me safe. love this app!!

### 5/5 — Amazing App. Amazing Dev.

*2025-12-15, version 13.0*

Fantastic app.
I take a few prescriptions for mental health and always use this app before trying any new supplements. It lets me track exact dosages and timing—no more guessing.

My job requires deep focus while reviewing credit reports, bank statements, and investment accounts, and I used to think I could feel when my medication was kicking in or wearing off. Turns out I was wrong. This app shows me precisely when it takes effect, which helps me plan my work and actually use my medication effectively.

On top of that, the developers are absolutely amazing. After I mentioned some current financial hardships, they generously gave me a free year subscription—completely unexpected and incredibly appreciated. That kind of support and humanity is rare.

Highly recommend this app and the team behind it.

### 5/5 — Good app

*2025-10-17, version 12.6*

Ignore other comments regarding need sub, its £1.99 a month and u even offered free if they emailed u, the app is amazing and i understand u also need some reward for ur time and effort

### 5/5 — Exactly What I Wanted

*2025-09-29, version 12.6*

Simply the perfect app for logging and journaling your substance use. General knowledge and dosage information is readily available in the app.

P.S. The developer(s) give you access to the premium subscription for free if you can’t afford it. ❤️

### 5/5 — Incredible and invaluable

*2025-07-20, version 11.11*

This is such an impressive and well thought out app. It could (and I’m sure has) saved lives and I applaud you for making this available to all who need it and not behind a paywall. That’s a great way to human. We need more people like you in the world! ❤️

### 5/5 — Great app but…

*2025-07-17, version 11.11*

This is an awesome app. I think the only thing would be to add a weight feature to make it a little more accurate.

### 5/5 — Responsible use in a clear UI

*2025-04-29, version 11.11*

Clean interface for recording usage and practicing safer use. No ads or tracking.

### 5/5 — PLEASE NO PAY WALL

*2025-04-24, version 11.11*

THIS IS HARM REDUCTION PLEASE DONT PUT A PAY WALL 🙏🥺
