Good but price isn’t worth it

I do thing tab isolation at this level is good privacy feature, but compared to other free privacy focused browsers I just can justify a subscription. I know stuff like this takes time which requires money but I’m not sure how many people out there are willing to pay for a browser, especially if they are satisfied with the level of privacy already offered by others. Overall I hope to see this grow, but just can see myself paying for it

No proxy subscription option, please

Love the silos. Would like to support and use the browser without being forced into a proxy subscription. Pricing without proxy as $10-20 one-time would be really nice, or a really low $1-2/mo.

Eek

Cool concept, but very odd that a security research team pushes a proxy that makes DNS connections to Hong Kong. 👎

Response from developer

Hello, thank you for trying out Psylo. We don't use any Hong Kong based services to perform DNS lookups. If you're observing this on your end, please reach out to support@mysk.co Also, our architecture ensures that DNS lookups only originate from the proxies and never the user's own device

Extremely fingerprintable

Just go to either of these sites, 100% fingerprintable on both

Amiunique.org
Coveryourtracks.eff.org

Update. I understand the argument that each silo appears differently to these sites, but how is that different from brave or even safari that randomizes each appearance?
Ps I also have a hard time with the bandwidth usage, and timestamps in the information we collect section of your privacy policy. Why is any of that necessary in a privacy respecting browser?

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for trying Psylo. I think you’re misunderstanding the results shown by amiunique.org and coveryourtracks.eff.org. Psylo’s anti-fingerprinting has a simple goal: no two silos should share the same fingerprint. This prevents websites and trackers from linking your activity across different silos. You can verify this yourself by opening amiunique.org in two different silos. You’ll notice that each silo’s fingerprint appears for the first time under the “History” section. To AmIUnique, each silo appears as a completely separate browser that has never visited the website before. If you would like to learn more or have questions about Psylo’s anti-fingerprinting, you can always reach out to us on https://psylo.app/support

Brilliant

Fast, private, ad-free experience for my favorite social media apps. Privacy like a VPN but without the battery draining.

Adding silos to homescreen without creating shortcuts would be nice

Psylo is a private browser developed by privacy researchers that offers true tab isolation. Each tab functions as a separate 'silo' with its own storage, cookies, and IP address. It utilizes a global network of over 40 high-performance, no-log proxy servers to enhance user privacy and security.

How does Psylo protect my privacy?

Psylo protects your privacy through several features, including true tab isolation, per-silo proxy assignment, automatic HTTPS upgrades, DNS-level tracker blocking, and advanced anti-tracking measures like smart location spoofing and URL tracking cleaner. It also filters ads and cookie banners.

What are the pricing and subscription details for Psylo?

Psylo is offered as a monthly or annual in-app subscription. A free trial of up to 7 days is available with no account required. Subscriptions grant full access to the proxy network and include 100 GB of bandwidth per month.

Psylo is designed to not interfere with your system's settings or other installed VPNs. All privacy protections are contained within the app itself, ensuring it works independently and doesn't alter your device's configurations.
