### 3/5 — App is Basic

*2025-12-25, version 14.33.0*

There are several small things that could make this all better. It works but no frills.

### 3/5 — Some features I would like to see

*2025-11-12, version 14.32.0*

It would be better if I could upload photos/ screen shots to the workouts and not just videos.

### 2/5 — Way to clunky

*2025-08-03, version 14.29.0*

I really wanted to like this app, but it is very cumbersome for clients to use to record their own workouts. Having to toggle back-and-forth between pages . Lots of fancy bells and whistles, but the thing you really need which is tracking workouts is what it is lacking

### 2/5 — Decent but needs tweaks

*2025-05-06, version 14.25.0*

Decent to help track - however th app will randomly lose all you data mid workout forcing you to recall your workouts (possibly incorrectly) and then spend time re inputting during your training. Other than that the order in which you input reps and weight seems backwards. It wants “reps x weight” whereas in my experience the common order is “weight x reps” which is a bit nitpicky, however, having to go back and adjust the data is again annoying just as the data loss stated above

### 3/5 — Needs to have autocorrect function

*2025-04-17, version 14.25.0*

It’s really annoying to type on because the apple autocorrect feature doesn’t work so there’s mistakes all over my notes. It can’t even correct i to I.

When an update is needed it harasses you every time you open the app. So essentially you have to do it if you’re going to do a workout or a pop up screen will pop up every. Single. Time.
That’s not necessary. I

Other wise it’s a good app

### 3/5 — Needs Fixes

*2024-10-09, version 14.15.0*

The app has quirks and oddities. The most annoying thing is the lack of a spellcheck feature in the Notes/Comments fields for exercises.

### 4/5 — Good app. Needs one major add to be great

*2024-10-03, version 14.15.0*

Great app for tracking items each day, communicating via chat with trainer and viewing workout and videos. Have not been able to upload videos recorded through app if more than a few seconds. Only issue that is very frustrating is how to frack the amount of reps and weight for my exercises each week. Would be awesome if, in addition to being able to enter weight, reps and. It’s, the weight and reps from last time the same workout was done, display those data points.i. I don’t use the desktop amd have created the SAME WORKOUT on a spreadsheet with what I did prior week. Point of app is so you don’t need to do that. If that feature was added it would make this app superior to anything else on the market’. Someone wrote the same suggestion 3 years ago on the reviews. Please consider this and happy to proved additional input if asked (I work with apps for a living so would happily make suggestions).

### 3/5 — Clunky

*2024-08-12, version 14.13.0*

Seems a little “clunky” to use. Doesn’t allow me to add items I do outside the programme.

### 3/5 — Newest update

*2023-08-03, version 14.7.0*

Please please take it away. Put workouts back into folders. This long list of workouts you have to scroll through to get to a current routine is annoying. I beg you. Fix it!!

### 4/5 — Excellent platform with small UI quirks

*2023-07-22, version 14.6.0*

I love how simple and well integrated the platform is. Just enough to allow you to communicate with your trainer, schedule and track workouts, log progress. The actual saving of workouts can be a bit fickle, and viewing past workout performance is difficult to do while in an active routine. But overall, there are no glaring flaws.

### 2/5 — Workouts not interactive

*2023-07-22, version 14.6.0*

I find the Workouts not interactive I find the workouts are not interactive enough. And the app is not keeping track of my workouts or giving me stats

### 2/5 — WCAG Compliance

*2022-06-08, version 12.12.0*

This app needs to update their color contrast and type size to be in compliance of WCAG standards. It is very difficult to read or use components of the app due to this.

### 5/5 — Excellent App

*2022-05-04, version 12.9.0*

This app is excellent, my trainer has everything we’ll set up for me and it runs very smoothly.

### 2/5 — Not impressed

*2022-04-23, version 12.8.0*

This app is clunky and not that useful. It's basically a check list and some documents. There is no data tracking or data analysis. You get better info from fitness pal and/or garmin which you have to have anyway to use this app. From what I can tell, there is no way to record your activity and no way to link your garmin or strava. You can't send messages.

### 3/5 — It’s alright

*2022-02-12, version 12.8.0*

Great vids, good to keep track of weights but as a user I find it frustrating not being able to create workouts if my trainer hasn’t. Would prefer not to need to go into existing workouts, find what I want in order to record weights then into another and another.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App is fine, not communication

*2026-09-05, version 15.7.0*

Just realized I was still paying for this over a year after I thought I had cancelled it. No email or billing notice. I sent an email to customer service to see if I might be able to have any sort of refund- we shall see!

### 1/5 — PT Distinction App

*2025-02-12, version 14.19.0*

I find this app very clunky to use and therefore I’m missing things for a service that I’m paying for. I don’t think that it’s making my purchase worthwhile.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2023-04-18, version 14.1.0*

Absolute trash. Impossible to sign in. Reset password does nothing at all. Useless.

### 1/5 — Save workout data!?

*2022-04-15, version 12.8.0*

Every time I hit the back button on accident, it clears my ENTIRE workout. SO BEYOND FRUSTRATING!!! ESP when trying to track progress. Renders the app totally useless

### 1/5 — Glitch/bug

*2022-02-16, version 12.8.0*

App is filled with technical issues- saving meal adherence never works- it’s a 2 save minimum. App crashes regularly. Do the developers use this app themselves?

### 1/5 — Beware, VERY glitchy and you will lose data

*2021-09-20, version 12.3.1*

I have been using this app for about six months daily. One of the most aggravating things is when I’m in the middle of a program work out and I need to go back and correct a set (for example I entered the wrong weight) if I hit the back arrow it takes me completely out of the program and I lose all data that I’ve entered up to that point. Yes technically you’re supposed to swipe but intuitively the back arrow for most of the known world means you go back a page not exit the entire program. Little glitches like this where you lose data are why I hate this app. Seems like it would be a no-brainer; just don’t exit me from the app or don’t delete my data or give me a warning so I know it’s gonna happen.

### 1/5 — Crashes constantly

*2021-07-05, version 11.21.0*

I am using the white labelled version (I believe), all the UI is the same etc but that’s not available in the App Store from what I can see.

On iPhone 12 Pro, latest OS (v14.6).

It seems to freeze anytime you switch screen like to another app or when you lock your phone (I.e between sets). This is a major bug.

Other issues are general UX, it’s frustrating you can’t input multiple set info on a single view rather than going from one screen to the other to the other, it also means you can’t see what the set details (prescribed by the PT) when you’re in the data entry screen, that’s hugely annoying.

### 1/5 — Please rotate video

*2021-03-05, version 11.20.0*

Every morning I do a video workout from this app on my iPad. It is so annoying & frustrating that the video won’t rotate from portrait to landscape when I turn the iPad. This has to be the only live app in 2021 without this feature.

### 1/5 — Avoid!

*2021-03-04, version 11.20.0*

Payment could not be easier, however cancelling my subscription has taken me over a day so far, the option isn’t available in safari and the chat ‘help’ - again not available to existing customers so you have to log out to access it - was pointless, some farmed out help using a fake picture. Avoid!

### 1/5 — Poor user experience for people being trained

*2021-02-11, version 11.20.0*

Having used Train Heroic with my last PT I guess I was spoilt. The way in which you log the exercises etc is awful on this app. I have an iPhone and I found it difficult to tap in the space to enter the number of reps and then the weight etc. The space is too small. Then to enter weekly measurements you have to go into the last weeks, select the date, then a drop down pops up, you scroll down and then select new. What’s wrong with having a “new” button and just being able to enter the date and then the details. Way too over complicated. I want the app to be easy to use if I’m working out etc. Take a good look at your competitors as although you may not want to do it exactly the same, a lot of what they have done is great. Colours on your app are drab and negative other fitness app colouring is vibrant and positive.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — macros on entries

*2026-05-19, version 15.3.0*

Love the app, love the barcode feature.

Could we possibly add knowing the macros per each entry. at times i’d have remove everything just so I know how much protein and the other macronutrients per entry. All in all great app!

### 5/5 — Getting healthy!!

*2025-11-16*

R&J are amazing!! The app is user friendly, easy to navigate. Give them and this app a try, you will not be disappointed.

### 5/5 — Amazing App!

*2025-05-14, version 14.25.0*

### 5/5 — Dans Vikings

*2024-12-10, version 14.18.0*

### 5/5 — PT app

*2023-08-24, version 14.8.0*

Easy to navigate and use , sometimes hard to find what I need but there is loads on here !

### 5/5 — Coaches side

*2023-08-03, version 14.7.0*

Everything about the site is fantastic. Coming from the coaches side, simple to navigate and clients and contact me with seamless messaging

### 5/5 — Trainer, demos and tracker

*2023-07-03, version 14.5.0*

I can do everything in this app. My coach does my routines in the app and I can follow, track, see demo videos, record sets as I go, refer back to past performance, track progress photos, diet logs. Basically everything you will need in this app.

### 5/5 — Very useful for me and my clients!

*2023-05-03, version 14.1.0*

This app makes it easy for my clients to track their progress. Thank you PT Distinction!

### 5/5 — Best app I’ve used!

*2023-03-28, version 14.1.0*

I’ve tried a few different PT apps and this is by far the best I’ve used - love it.

### 5/5 — Hands down the best app for virtual trainers

*2022-12-06, version 13.1.0*

My company has used this app for over 12 months now and we love it. We handle about 75-100 clients at a given time for both nutrition coaching and training. I have used a few other popular apps and they can’t hold a candle to PTD. It’s customizable, packed full of templates, exercises, coaching guides and more but my favorite part is how easy it is to create your own stuff in it. It is more comprehensive and has better back end support than other apps. At Forever Fit Coaching we are grateful for PTD! It’s a great app and is the only one I recommend to other coaches or trainers!
