## What is Public Art Registry?

Public Art Registry is a community-built map of public art.
Every city is an open-air gallery — sculptures in the park, murals down the alley, mosaics in the transit station, monuments you walk past every day. Public Art Registry puts all of it on one map, and lets anyone help document the pieces that aren't on it yet.

EXPLORE
• Browse a live map of public artworks near you, or anywhere you travel.
• Pins are colour-coded by type — sculpture, mural, mosaic, installation, monument — so a glance shows you what's around.
• Open any artwork for photos, location, materials, artist, and history.
• Search by artwork or artist name.
• Get walking directions to any piece.

CONTRIBUTE
• Add an artwork in a few taps: a photo, a location, a few words.
• The app finds artworks already near you, so records merge instead of duplicating.
• Suggest a correction whenever you spot something wrong.
• Every submission is checked by a moderator before it goes public.

OPEN DATA, FOR EVERYONE
• Everything contributed is dedicated to the public domain under Creative Commons Zero (CC0 1.0) — free for researchers, journalists, artists, map-makers, and anyone else to reuse, no permission needed.
• No ads. No trackers. No data sold.
• A cultural archive that belongs to the commons, not to us.

WHY IT MATTERS
Public art is fragile. Murals fade and get painted over, sculptures are removed, the municipal records that listed them go offline. When a piece disappears undocumented, its story goes with it.

Public Art Registry exists so that history isn't lost — built by the people who walk past these works every day.

### 3.10.14 — 2026-06-20

Quality-of-life fixes:
• The on-screen keyboard no longer hides the Submit or Acknowledge license buttons when you're uploading a photo or sending feedback.
• The "Submitted, pending review" screen now has a "View artwork" button so you can jump straight back to the artwork you just added a photo to. The buttons there are also properly centered now.
• Tidied the bottom bar — the feedback icon moved into the side menu.

More reliable photo submissions on iPhone — fixed a crash when adding multiple photos.
Google Sign-In now works on iOS.
New privacy control: hide your name on your profile and have your photo credits show as "Anonymous."
Cleaner map: a smaller "you are here" marker now shows which way you're facing.
Submitting offline? The app now warns you and prevents broken photo captures.
Artwork pages now show the best photo first.
Easier navigation: a back arrow on info pages, and a scrollable menu so Sign Out is always reachable.
Various stability and polish fixes.
