## What is publicego?

PublicEGO is the social network for genuine relationships - not public reach.

Share moments, posts, and contacts with the people they’re truly meant for, rather than with everyone at once. Personal circles for family, friends, travel, projects, and more give you control over who sees what.

PublicEGO helps you organize your social connections more thoughtfully:

- Create your own circles for different areas of your life
- Share posts and moments with selected people
- Manage your contacts in a more personal and organized way
- Invite new people directly to the right circles
- Discover circles created by contacts you’re connected with
- Communicate in a more private and relevant environment

Unlike traditional social networks, PublicEGO isn’t designed for maximum visibility—it’s designed for the right visibility. This keeps your content more personal, your relationships more organized, and sharing more natural.

Why PublicEGO?

- More privacy when sharing
- More control over your content
- Less chaos between family, friends, and other contacts
- More relevance instead of a mass audience
- Social spaces that fit your real life

PublicEGO is ideal for anyone who wants social media to feel more personal, peaceful, and meaningful again.

Share only with the people it’s meant for.

Welcome to PublicEGO.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.23 — 2026-10-10

• Photos and videos now appear only once they've fully uploaded, so you'll never open a file that's still on its way.
• Interrupted uploads resume automatically, and attachments retry loading quietly before showing an error.
• Circle chat notifications now say "wrote in the circle chat" instead of "sent you a message".

### 1.22 — 2026-10-01

Better offline handling

### 1.21 — 2026-09-26

Small bugfixes on special moments

### 1.20 — 2026-09-25

What's new:

• Special moments: Mark a moment as special and it stays in the circle's chronicle after the 24 hours. Choose a type like birth, wedding, trip or celebration and a date, even one in the past. You can also share it without notifying the circle.
• Chronicle: A circle's posts tab is now the Chronicle. Posts and special moments are arranged by month. Use the fast-scroll bar on the right to jump straight to any year and month.
• Post memories: Share something from the past, like an old photo. With a date, it appears in the right place in the chronicle and is marked as a memory in the feed.
• Tag contacts: Tag people from your circles in posts and moments. They get notified and appear below the post. In circles with hidden members, tagging and mentions are intentionally disabled.
• Anniversaries: Birthdays, wedding anniversaries and other anniversaries appear in the calendar and in the circle's events, e.g. "2nd birthday" or "50th wedding anniversary (golden wedding)". On the day itself, the moment shows up in the moments bar. Tagged people get a reminder, and for birthdays everyone in the circle does.
• Calendar: Use the new double arrows to jump a year ahead or back.
• Comments can be sorted by newest or oldest first.
• The post button is easier to read and shows how many more circles you're sharing to.

As always, your content stays end-to-end encrypted, including the type and exact date of special moments.

### 1.19 — 2026-09-18

• Reply in chat with a quote – swipe or long press
• Emoji-only messages show larger, without a bubble
