I see the same stories on the app with little new content even though I see new stories on the local news shows. I have to hear news about my community from neighbors instead of the local newspaper. What a shame! ### 1/5 — Terrible *2020-07-30, version 1.1* Since the company was bought by an out of state corporation, this app had been terrible. Stories take forever to load. And you can only read an article or two a month, when before stories were free & paid subscriptions accessed extra content. It is a useless app now. No local news. No state, national, or international news. Wish it was different but I’ll get my non-local need from the AP & be in the dark on local news. 😠 ### 1/5 — Worst app ever *2019-08-24, version 1.0* This app is difficult to use. Can’t maneuver around or tell what is an ad & what is news! ### 1/5 — News aggregator, local news comes second *2019-08-24, version 1.0* The v1 If this app feels more like a poor news aggregator than a local news app. I waded through articles attributed to the Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, and a couple of article-sized ads before getting to the first local news story. The app seems to optimize for article recency and ad revenue rather than local relevance or even national/global/regional significance. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Pitiful version of hometown paper *2025-05-31, version 8.1.0* As a 30+ year subscriber to the Pueblo Chieftain, I am incredibly disappointed in this new online version where you can’t customize the font (for older eyes), and it looks NOTHING like a newspaper. Ads are cheesy, low-class physhing type ads that promise quick weight loss if you add some secret ingredient. Where is our Pueblo News???? ### 1/5 — New E-edition issues *2025-02-22* E - Newspaper on this app is terrible using Apple iPad. Has many problems. Does not function properly. Too many issues to list. Please bring back older (blue icon) app for E Newspaper. It worked well. ### 1/5 — New E-edition issues *2025-02-19* Just loaded new E - Edition app. Getting used to it, but seems like when I have it in “fit to page” mode, then scroll down thru page and select arrow to advance to the next page of e edition it does not go up to the top of the next page. I find this frustrating as I now must scroll up to begin viewing this page. Old app used to go to top of page when advancing. Maybe this is a glitch with new version of app. So far liked old version better. I click on an article to open it in the reading pane and app closes. I can no longer open it. I must wait for the next days edition to come out to be able to open app again. Please fix this right away or you will loose me as a customer once again. I have reported this problem previously. Site not friendly ### 5/5 — Average *2023-12-10, version 7.5.1* I like keeping up with what’s happening locally but most of the news is old. ### 5/5 — Raised in Pueblo *2022-12-22, version 6.12.5* I grew up in Pueblo in the 1950’s. My Dad was a draftsman at CF&I. I enjoy seeing stories about places from my past and sometimes names of people I still remember. Nice to see how Pueblo has progressed. I camp occasionally at Lake Pueblo State Park—a beautiful state asset. Been sending feedback each day expressing my concerns and asking for a response from Pueblo Chieftain. I have a problem reading obituaries. When I click to read entire obit when done reading I have to go back to 1st one to read the rest. I’m sure it’s an algorithm issue that reader can’t just continue scrolling. ### 2/5 — Useless- Slow and lacking local content *2019-10-20, version 1.1* Some stories take 30+ seconds to load. The home page takes nearly a minute to “refresh” after a story is closed. From what I can tell “refreshing” equates to new ads, the content and order of content seems to stay the same.
