### 2/5 — Not enough words for $8

*2020-02-08, version 1.12*

I signed up for $8 which I cannot get back. There are only about 40 words in this program. I contacted the company and they said new lists should come out every month. I waited 2 months and they added 5 words. Otherwise the features of the program are good, just not enough words.

### 3/5 — Has potential, needs a little more work

*2020-01-03, version 1.12*

Enhancing and fun to play overall. However there are a few significant shortcomings that preclude me from giving it more stars.

First, this is made by the dictionary - why the limited number of words? I have a profile for myself and quickly ran out of challenges. Huh?

Second, my kids are 6, 10, and 13 - their lists and mine are almost the same (if not exactly the same). I love learning new vocabulary, so I was optimistic that I would have a good challenge.

Finally, there should be a way to hear the word pronounced and easily get a definition. I’d also like to see some sort of memory challenge / revisit your old words pop up at certain intervals. Or possibly ones that were tricky.

Optimistic that the developer is adding some of these features, especially for a paid app. Looking forward to improvements!

### 3/5 — Can’t get in

*2020-01-01, version 1.12*

I can’t even get passed the loading screen! Please fix. I put three stars because I don’t know what the app really has in store.

### 3/5 — Words

*2019-12-14, version 1.12*

It’s a good app. But I already knew these words. Maybe make it more challenging?

### 4/5 — List generation and sharing

*2019-09-01, version 1.12*

The app is pretty cool, but there needs to be a way for parents or siblings to create lists for each other on the same device. And it would nice if users could submit lists to the developers, to be vetted and then pushed to all users.

Also, the animation is slow. The Puku looks thoughtful for a moment before saying Good Job. Why? Wrong answers are immediate. That moment with the frowning/thinking face is pointless.

### 3/5 — Cute, But Limited Word Lists

*2019-09-01, version 1.12*

It’s a cute App with lots of promise. Adding words that you want to learn is easy, but they are limited to one list. Once you complete a list, you can’t modify it. If you want to make a new list, you have to do so from scratch. If adding your own words was easier, I’d give this 5 stars.

### 1/5 — Paid Subscription automatically resets to free version

*2021-11-16, version 1.12*

I was in love with the Aap until few days back. My son has been using Puku for over an year and had completed 900 words. Few days back my puku account automatically got reset to free version and all the categories got locked although I have subscrition till Dec 28 2021. All my attempt went in vain and I had to delete the Aap to reover my paid version. My son was very upset his work was lost and puku got short. I cheered him up saying he can rebuild puku while he revised the words. But again the Aap got reset to free version. I have emailed Puku team and has not heard back from hem yet. I am really looking forward for a solution and in the best case scenario recover my son's lost puku work to love the App again and I can update my review.

### 1/5 — Worst app in the universe I hate it

*2020-10-25, version 1.12*

Practically everything is for the premium why is there a subscription I hate this app

### 1/5 — Good idea, but never any updates

*2020-09-29, version 1.12*

I paid $7.99 for a 1-year subscription in October 2019. Since then, I've never seen a word-list update, and the last update to the app was almost a year ago. This should absolutely have been a one-time purchase if there were no plans for ongoing development. Charging for a recurring subscription is malicious.

### 1/5 — The app doesn’t work

*2019-12-06, version 1.12*

We are trying to subscribe for the app but it does not work. How we can get it?

### 1/5 — Rip off !!!!

*2019-11-03, version 1.12*

I paid for a year subscription only to find that there are no word lists available any more. Will sure be asking for a refund!!!!

### 1/5 — Subscription Fee? Delete.

*2019-10-23, version 1.12*

Excited when I saw the app and then there was a subscription fee. One time purchase is cool. Subscription is a definite no, but I thought I would try 7 days for free, but then it automatically forces you to get a subscription after 7 days? Nope, deleted.

### 1/5 — Swiping through answers is ridiculous

*2019-10-22, version 1.12*

Having to swipe through the multiple choice answers is ridiculous. Put all 4 on the screen at once. Animation is too slow and Puku is off putting. This has potential but needs a ton of work.

### 2/5 — Will Not Work after I paid for annual subscription

*2020-09-17, version 1.12*

My 6 year old son and I found the Puku App yesterday, tried the free version, and loved it! We went through 4 words, and then it stopped working. We tried again the next day with no luck. We deleted the app and restarted my phone. And the app still wouldn't work. Was it because I didn't pay for the subscription? We decided to pay for the annual subscription, and still no luck! This is very sad. The app worked just beautifully the day prior. I have 4 kids ages 6 to 15, and thought this would be a great way for them to improve their vocabulary.

### 2/5 — Nice Idea, Bad Execution

*2020-07-08, version 1.12*

Limited vocabulary lists and inability to share app amongst different devices (even with same login credentials) makes this a loser. But only if you subscribe.

### 2/5 — Too slow

*2020-04-08, version 1.12*

Wastes so much time telling you that you are correct. Boring. Need a “speed button” or a “just skip the “puku growing whizzy waste of time graphics” button.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It’s pretty cool

*2022-07-16, version 1.12*

I love the idea but I don’t like that I can’t customize the word list. And if there is a way, idk how to access it.

### 5/5 — Good

*2020-07-03, version 1.12*

I really like this app, it helps me a lot!

### 5/5 — Addictive Fun

*2019-10-15, version 1.12*

My kids ages 6, 8, and 11 love this app. They enjoy watching Pukus grow. Helps the younger kids learn new words.

### 5/5 — Great app, super fun

*2019-09-09, version 1.12*

The app is great, I loved it. The fact that there are limited word lists is slightly annoying, but overall a wonderful installment on my device. 5/5 stars.

### 5/5 — My daughter loves this app!

*2019-08-25, version 1.1001*

My 4 and a half year old loves playing this and breaks out into a fit of giggles and cheers every time Puku evolves. It’s a great game for us to play together. She’s able to learn new words and practice her letters and the sounds they make.

### 5/5 — Great little app for my kids

*2019-08-19, version 1.1*

I am excited to get this app for my kids to starting some new words!! They are learning new words and having fun at the same time. My kids are actually competing against each other to see who can grow Puku the fastest!!

### 4/5 — Great but ……….

*2021-07-13, version 1.12*

My son really likes this app however he’s commented that Puku is kind of weird and gross looking. I mean…. there really wasn’t a better mascot idea??????

### 4/5 — Almost perfect!

*2021-03-31, version 1.12*

The app itself is great, and I would totally recommend it. Although, it would be great if the vocabulary words could be read aloud to convey proper pronunciation and dictation. Additionally, there should be a feature where you can review your words from previous lists in one lesson. Thanks for reading my suggestions!

### 4/5 — Has great potential

*2020-05-13, version 1.12*

Excellent concept and fun to play. However, needs 1. More word list. We consistently run out of lists. 2. When I create a word list, it should be shared or has the option to share with all the players on my app. Please keep it going!! Thanks.

### 4/5 — Really nice

*2019-11-09, version 1.12*

This app is really nice but most of it cost money. It would be even better if you could do more things for free. Like for example fashion and mythology cost money but I would give you five stars if they were free.
