### 3/5 — Bugs Galore

*2024-10-21*

The cap itself is phenomenal and the integration to Fitbit works so overall I am happy. After working for a couple of weeks, the app began to exhibit several bugs that I emailed support about. The first is that my schedule for when I’m awake and sleep changes by itself, making it seem as though I am overdue for hydration at any given time throughout the day. Thus, my cap does not adaptively alert me when I am actually behind on my water intake versus being up to speed on my goal. Often times it increases my daily goal by large amount due to a temperature glitch. It’s currently 50° but somehow the app is saying that it’s 212°F so it’s adding an extreme number of additional ounces. overall, the cap is great, but the app needs a lot of work and attention. However, it doesn’t seem the developers care to fix these minor bugs that seem to have been an ongoing issue for months based on other comments and reviews.

### 3/5 — APP needs more work

*2023-08-14, version 2.2.7*

Good product /HW but App needs more work. Calories track is useful but unstable , sometime just not syncing timely with Apple Health API

### 2/5 — Glitchy

*2023-06-27, version 2.2.7*

Everytime i go to edit my height the app crashes

### 2/5 — It’s Adequate when it works

*2023-06-19*

The App has been crashing quite frequently and I’ve lost data. To resolve, I’ve had to delete the App entirely and reinstall. I’ve emailed customer service support and never received a reply. If this continues, I’m likely to abandon this product, which is a shame because I did like it.

### 2/5 — App is clunky and inaccurate

*2023-01-04*

Received my Pul bottle and smart cap today and got the app to set it up and start logging the day’s past drinks. It doesn’t let you put in past times for drinking, even though the option is there to wind back the time. It doesn’t stick. I’m also confused at the drink selection. You want to log an Old Fashioned for hydration but there’s no standard Tea (only black tea) or lemonade or other normal, less specific drinks? There’s no option to add your own drink. For example it’s just 1% Milk or Almond Milk, nothing in between. My other gripe is that the daily drinking progress doesn’t update even after adding drinks in the log. I’m stuck at 1% for the espresso I logged even though I logged 8 oz of “almond milk”. I’m not even sure or able to verify my cap is properly connected even though it’s fully charged and present in the app. It just says “Disconnected” and I have yet to see the cap light up to tell me I’m drastically behind on my hydration as the app says. Not sure I’ll be keeping this even though the idea is great. This just seems like a nice water bottle with no working technology behind it. The app itself hasn’t been updated in over 7 months, which tells me not much is being invested there and that any improvements will be a long time coming. Too bad.

### 4/5 — Love!

*2022-11-06*

Absolutely love the bottle! Love how it tracks your water intake and how much to drink based off weight/calories. I wish they came out with an update for a widget; would be great to have on Lock Screen rather than going into the app each time

### 3/5 — Ok

*2022-09-23*

Good app.

No ability to set favorite drinks. I want 400ml water and 350ml coffee as presets. Then I can press just one button. Right now , you have to navigate to All drinks, choose water (for example), then press the stepper several times to get the desired amount. A bit of a pain don’t you think?

Changing a time of a drink you’ve already entered does not change it in the Health app.

### 1/5 — FIX THE APP PLEASE!!!

*2022-06-05, version 1.1.1*

The concept here is great…when the app feels like working. It has always taken too long to launch and suffered from freezes and crashes on opening. Now it will not open at all, rendering it totally useless. How have you Pul people allowed this to go on for so long? Please fix it!

### 1/5 — Great concept and bottle, terrible app

*2022-05-28*

I have been using the Pul bottle and app for over 6 months. The tech is great and in that time I've only missed my daily water intake goal a couple of times. So it does a great job of making sure I drink enough water every day.

The main issue though, and the reason it gets 1 star for the app, is that the app is in a constant state of freezing and crashing. Every time I open it, it freezes, and about half the time it crashes and I have to re-open it. Please, PUL people: you really need to fix this as this is very frustrating. Once you do, I will up my rating.

Also, could you please allow us to change what the default drinks are on the "drink suggestions" page? That should be customizable. Seriously - how is "8 oz soda" one of the defaults? The default should be a standard 12 oz can and we should be allowed to customize this page on both drink selection and amount for quicker additions.

### 1/5 — New App Doesn’t Work

*2022-05-28*

I had LOVED this app with the PÜL smart cap. However, when the latest update to the app went through, the app appearance and functionality changed. It is now no difficult to get the app to connect and sync the info from my cap that I have stopped using this app altogether. I would give this five stars if the old version of the app could return.

### 1/5 — Tracking is not accurate.

*2022-04-27, version 1.1.0*

I sucked air through the straw and it tracked an entire bottle. When I finish a bottle I try to make sure I get the last drop but it causes the tracking to not be accurate at all. The app is also glitchy sometimes.

### 3/5 — Kind of not great

*2022-02-18, version 1.0.1*

The app has permissions to read and write to the health app for water. And it writes just fine. But if I log water using a different app it doesn’t update in this app. And is kind of counter productive. The Hidrate app will update water intake logged with other apps.

### 1/5 — Terrible App, Not Sure What Happened

*2025-03-23*

The decline of this app is so disappointing. I first got my PÜL water bottle about a year ago and everything worked perfectly. I lost my water bottle and got it replaced months later, and now the app is completely useless. You can’t actually track toward any personal goal because the app just disregards any manually input goals, and randomly changes the goal to arbitrary numbers throughout the day. I’ve deactivated all of the factors that would make the goal auto-adjust and it still just does not work. The percentage means nothing. This app is actually terrible and I was probably better off not replacing the bottle.

### 1/5 — Hardware is there, software is not

*2025-01-24*

The one star rating here comes only after multiple emails to support and submitted feedback items on their website.

The actual bottle and hardware is well designed compared to past bottles I've tried. I love that the tracking is based on the flow through the straw, and there is no measuring process needed after filling the bottle.

Problems:

- The bottle flashes to remind you to drink. However I like to keep the bottle on my bedside table when sleeping, and there is no setting to disable flashing during certain hours. That's fine, expecting this feature would be above and beyond in my opinion (going from a 4 star to a 5 star product). However that means my only option is to entirely turn off Hydration Reminders. Problem is: this setting doesn't work. Whenever I change the setting, navigate away from the settings page and come back it has reverted to being on.
- The Apple Health sync is a fantastic concept, and it's great to see how much my hydration needs change as a result of exertion. However the app seems to only sync from Apple Health once a day or not at all on some days. Almost every time I do a large workout later in the day it never syncs to the app. It's a shame because it's so close to amazing.
- One time my app completely wiped my entire state. I needed to create a new profile and account from scratch. And it lost all my data.
- One time my bottle got in a state where it was flashing every two minutes and eventually stopped syncing to the app. I think starting to charge it fixed it.

No response from Pul on ANY of my requests for help. This product is so close to fantastic, O really wish they'd get their act together.

### 1/5 — The worst app ever made

*2024-07-29*

Horrible product, horrible app, horrible company. If you are about to download this to work with your smart cap, DON’T - and return the smart cap.

### 1/5 — New app messed everything up

*2024-06-11*

New app version came out beginning of February and was riddled with bugs. Made my experience a total mess by losing all my past drinking data and not keeping my wake and sleep times among other issues. A new version came out mid February still full of bugs and instability. Support seemed to care at first, but then no word from them since the last app version which is almost 3 weeks ago. Loved this smart cap but now it’s complete trash with no word of when all the issues will be resolved.

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2023-11-28*

The app DOES NOT WORK. I cant even get past “calculating your baseline” so i cant even link my bottle. Bottle glows when drinking and the top pulses green when its plugged in like its trying to pair so I know the bottle is fine. For the hundred dollars I spent on this bottle, the app not working is unacceptable. It renders the bottle useless and it is now just a ridiculously expensive, normal water bottle. PLEASE fix the app! Ive already sent in feedback with screenshots and screen recordings with no follow up. The concept is amazing and if the app worked I would be thrilled.

### 1/5 — Nice bottle, app is buggy

*2023-11-25*

I just got my bottle and was psyched to start using it. I ran into issues with the app very early on onboarding. I have been trying to setup my account and have been running into issues for ‘calculating the baseline’. It won’t let me move forward and the loading screen appears to get stuck. I was really looking forward to using this but now I’m just bummed.

### 1/5 — Love the idea, but it’s unreliable

*2023-09-01, version 2.2.7*

The app just doesn’t work well with integrations. I love the idea of my goal changing based on my workouts and the weather, but each time I reinstall the app, set up the integration with apple health, it works for about 1 day and then just doesn’t read any data.

### 1/5 — Buggy app, needs patching

*2023-06-06, version 2.2.2*

Couldn’t connect to Bluetooth. Said software update required immediately after downloading the app. Wasn’t able to connect to bottle. Worthless experience. Just spent $100 on a heavy water bottle that i can’t put in the dishwasher.

### 1/5 — New app messed everything up

### 1/5 — Cannot use app

*2022-11-09, version 1.1.1*

I was using this. And then I took a break. Now I can’t get into the app. It just kicks me back to my home page

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Solid app

*2024-01-26*

Very happy with this app so far. Clean and easy to keep track of my water intake. Wish there was a widget for iOS though!

### 5/5 — I love my new PüL!

*2023-09-05*

I love my new PüL! I find the entire idea of it to be very convenient. I've been using a squeeze bottle for many years, and lately have developed some thumb issues because of it. One week into the PüL and my hands already feel so much better. And I can't believe how easy it is to get water from. A very simple sip goes a long way, and you don't have to tilt the bottle at all. It basically does all of the work for you. And the light-up reminders are great for when I'm busy at work and would otherwise neglect to drink any water. So far since switching bottles, I'm taking in an additional 20 ounces per day!

The app is also really easy to use. I personally don't have any issues with it whatsoever. I'm not sure why some of these other reviews are so low, because it has been flawless for me since Day 1. It syncs in real time and seems impossibly accurate as far as the data it collects. Seriously, I'm not easily impressed at all, but I am with my new PüL. Oh, and the slider keeps the mouthpiece clean all day long! I'm loving this thing!!

### 5/5 — Accountability

*2023-05-08, version 2.2.2*

I feel great now that I am hydrating. This app is simple to use.

### 5/5 — Easy to setup and fun to use

*2022-11-22*

The setup of the app with my smart cap was a breeze.
I am looking forward to learn more about hydration and the benfits for my health. This app makes it all very easy and motivating.

### 5/5 — Hydration Game Changer

*2022-10-26*

This is the product I’ve been waiting for! Despite being an avid athlete and someone who should know better, I constantly forget to drink water and never stay adequately hydrated. The app keeps me on track, and I love the playfulness of the lights that remind me where I am throughout the day. My PÜL sticks with me wherever I go, love it!

### 5/5 — Winning!

*2021-11-20*

After realizing how much of an impact hydration has on my cognitive performance at work, I started looking for a tool to provide me with a daily personalized goal. PUL’s hydration algorithm is hands down the most advanced one available. It even utilizes fitness data from my apple watch to adjust my goal in real time. The coffee tracking is also a golden feature for me!

### 5/5 — Best and only hydration tracker you need!

*2021-11-01, version 1.0.0*

Can’t live without it. 12/10 highly recommend.

### 5/5 — I’m much more conscious about hydration now thanks to PÜL

*2021-08-04*

As a distance runner / triathlete, I love to track everything about my training — really whatever my Garmin can do. I never thought to track my hydration because I drink plenty and felt good enough. Turns out I wasn’t drinking enough or at the right times.

Seeing how my workouts affect my hydration goal helped me better understand the need to hydrate before each workout, and after to help recovery. The reminder notifications are great little nudges to keep me on track throughout the day. I especially love the cap reminders — just seeing the light flash out of the corner of my eye is enough to get me to take a sip.

Drinking from the cap is an interesting experience too. It just feels smooth — once you try it, you won’t want to go back to your old cap. My only request to the Pül team is a matte black bottle and cap!

### 5/5 — Hydration Hero

*2021-08-02*

PÜL has been a great asset on keeping me properly hydrated—especially during the warm summer months. Easy to use and I appreciate the gentle nudges/reminders throughout the day. If you’re looking for a way to easily track your water intake, PÜL is for you.

### 5/5 — Game changer!

*2021-07-10*

I love this product! Staying hydrated has improved my health tremendously and this app helps by giving me encouragement and reminders throughout the day. I thought I was drinking enough, but now that I have Pül, I realize that I was falling short. It’s made a big difference in how I feel and function.
