### 2/5 — did not work

*2023-10-25*

Whenever i try to play a song it gets stuck on loading

### 3/5 — Taking to long to load

*2023-06-21, version 1.7*

My music is taking to long to load on my phone

### 4/5 — Great potential

*2019-02-18*

This app does what it says it does. No hiccups. If you can add volume control via the crown and a complication icon (it's there but no icon) please. Unfortunately, it does not do what I want; play music directly from my watch. Like the developer said, this problem stems from Spotify's end. Best of luck!

### 3/5 — Revision for the app

*2019-02-06*

Is there anyway between the app n Spotify can a revision be made to not have the phone on you while using the app through the watch. It’s kinda pointless to have the app for the watch when I have to have my phone on me anyways. Kinda feel like it would use 2x the data n it’s a hassle to have my phone while I run

### 3/5 — Good app but...

*2018-10-17*

No icon on the Apple Watch. It’s a blank space.
Have to launch the app before you launch Apple Watch app. If I launch the app on my watch, it should launch the app on my phone automatically.

Your so close! Fix these issues and it will be a 5 star app!!

**Developer response:** slr1966,

Thanks for the encouraging words, really appreciate it. I'm working on resolving the blank app icon on the watch (never happened before) but I believe I know what it is. I've also made some improvements to streamline the flow, the idea is you'll only need your phone to login, and your tracks will play in the background. Bit more testing to go!

### 4/5 — Great app to control Spotify from your watch

*2018-10-17*

This app is really good. However, the reason for my 4 Star rating is the buttons on the app on the watch or not labeled for voiceover. Also, it would be really nice if we could get a shuffle play when you choose a playlist. Otherwise, very good app!

**Developer response:** Wilcjames,

I'll add the voiceovers in the next release which will be out soon :)

### 4/5 — Works

*2018-10-10, version 1.6*

This product works very well with my Apple Watch Gen1 and iPhone 7+ both updated fully at time of writing. I’m able to swap with ease between songs and playlist no hassle from my watch.
My only problem is when my AirPods are connected to my iPhone I am unable to skip tracks from my AirPods. This is due to the fact when I double tap my AirPod is doesn’t recognise they are connected to Pulsar even though I have changed them to use pulsar in the app. It just reverts back to Spotify and starts playing from there.
Maybe the integration of AirPods to top this app completely.
Other than that working completely fine! If you wish for more information then let me know. Thank You

### 3/5 — Requires phone constantly?

*2018-10-09, version 1.6*

Hi there,

From I can see it’s a great app however my hope was I could use my cellular series 4 Apple Watch and leave my phone in my car when going for a run but I can’t seem to get that to work, does it indeed require the phone via Bluetooth at all times?

### 4/5 — Does what it claims to do

*2018-10-05*

The app does what it claims to do. You can select, play, and navigate your Spotify playlists and tracks with the app via your watch. However, it does not have the exact functionality as the Spotify app; that shouldn't be expected or warranted for a watch UX. The only thing I'd suggest for the Developer is to improve upon the onboarding UX, as it seems too many people mess that up and end up frustrated. All in all, it's a good app that WORKS and is a solid interim solution until Spotify addresses the market demand for a native Watch app.

**Developer response:** BaeTheBear,

Thank you for the fair rating and review! I do want to let you I’m already working on an onboarding experience to help users better understand the current flow needed due to the sdk limitations. I’m also actively working on improving the login and play flow from the phone in hopes of streamlining it a bit. As for the missing features, please let me know what you feel would make it better. You can edit your initial review and just add a note to the end. As an FYI, I’m entertaining adding shuffle and save/heart to the watch. Thanks!

### 4/5 — Needs more functionality

*2018-08-29*

I wish there was a way to turn shuffle on and off to make it a perfect remote for Spotify

**Developer response:** Ramiro,

Thanks for the review! Working on it! Next release will fix a few issues reported by others. Following that I will be releasing a version with shuffle and more!

### 3/5 — Works okay!

*2018-08-25, version 1.4*

There are a few bugs but it does work for the most part. I have Spotify premium as the developer says is required. There are instances where selecting a playlist on the watch will cause the app to close. Another bug is that selecting a song from the watch will not sync with the iPhone app. So the iPhone app will say no song is playing despite it playing. Therefor pausing a song will require you to hit “play” on the iphone app and then pause again.

iPhone X, 11.4

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work

*2018-08-23*

The app won’t upload to the Apple Watch so it’s unfortunately useless.

**Developer response:** meredithsledge, Can you help me understand what you mean by "won't upload"? Is Pulsar not being installed on your watch? Thanks.

### 1/5 — Crashes on song selection

*2018-08-03*

It can load the list of songs, albums, etc, but once I tap on a song to play on my watch the phone app crashes.

**Developer response:** Kangdom,

Do you have a Spotify premium account? It’s required by Spotify to stream via 3rd party apps. If you do, mind providing me your phone and watch details (hardware and os version)? Thank you.

### 1/5 — Won’t play with Apple Watch and Air Pods!!!

*2018-08-03, version 1.4*

Purchased the series 3 Apple Watch with the view of not carrying my phone on walks. The watch is only good as a remote for the phone. Nothing else!! May as well just use the Spotify App. App not worth downloading.

### 1/5 — Isn’t working :(

*2018-08-01, version 1.4*

Doesn’t work. I use Spotify and my watch all day at work. I get in a ton of trouble for touching my phone so I can’t switch songs or playlists. When I open the app on my phone is says select song from watch. When I open it on the watch it says launch app on phone then just sits there doing nothing :(

### 1/5 — Warning!! You’ll probably get phished if you use this!

*2024-07-12*

garbage, does not work, hasn’t been updated in 5 years. probably a phishing/security breach at this point. launch app on phone, approve spotify login, go to app on watch to connect watch to phone… no. Just infinite cannot connect to phone but sure have pure access to my spotify account! No thanks! Let’s go spotify just add apple watch mechanic already.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t recognize premium account

*2019-11-15*

Waste of space. Doesn’t recognize my premium Spotify account and thus won’t allow me to login. No support or help link available; just kicks me out. Don’t waste your time and energy downloading and installing.

### 1/5 — No point

*2019-01-05*

I don’t see the difference between this and the Spotify app other than it lags badly

### 1/5 — Doesn't work with new apple watch

*2018-12-01*

I have a 40mm version 5.1.1 apple watch and IOS 12. Spotify premium. My phone never connects with my watch, even though both are running the app. I even tried having Spotify playing in the background. Too bad it doesn't work.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work even though “fixed” this week

*2018-10-19, version 1.7*

Keeps locking on launch app on iPhone. The problem hasn’t been fixed! This app is not Much use if you can’t use Apple Watch controls independently of iPhone. Crap

### 1/5 — Not working

*2018-10-16, version 1.7*

It keeps saying it cannot find my watch and have tried advice for previous reviews!

### 1/5 — Frustrating

*2018-10-06, version 1.5*

Lags like no tomorrow when you try to use it with Spotify and occasionally freezes when you try to skip or change songs from a playlist.

The default music control on the apple watch works fine and is smooth. No lag or crashing or freezing like this app.

This app is like if you lost your remote control for your TV and you buy a 3rd party remote but realise it doesn’t work and wish you had your remote that came with the TV.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work without my iPhone

*2018-09-16*

I thought I could use this app with my headphones alone and not have to have my phone with me m.

**Developer response:** sykery,

Thanks for the rating but to be fair the app does not advertise the ability to work without your phone. It clearly states your phone is required. Please understand this is a limitation in Spotify’s SDK and not Pulsar. There’s currently no way to stream Spotify from your watch. I respectfully ask that you fairly rate Pulsar for what it advertises it can do and not what you want it to do. Thanks.

### 1/5 — Can’t even get it to show up on Apple Watch

*2018-09-15, version 1.5*

Have downloaded, signed up, opened/closed, re-downloaded, but nothing seems to make this app show up on my Apple Watch, and can’t begin to pair the phone/watch.

### 1/5 — App Crashes after logging in to Spotify

*2018-08-27*

👎👎👎
Unable to play any of the music on Spotify with the app as it crashes as soon as you select a song to play on the app.

**Developer response:** Geri.Bear,

Can you edit and provide your phone/watch iOS and hardware versions? Also, do you have a Spotify Premium Account?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Thank you!

*2018-10-12, version 1.7*

Now I can choose songs from my Spotify playlist on my wrist. Took 2 goes to connect but now fine.

### 5/5 — Yes yes yes....

*2018-09-30, version 1.5*

This is just what I needed/wanted. Nice work fella. Apple Watch now controlling Spotify which is now playing back on my Amazon Echo. Happy days.

### 5/5 — Great now it works

*2018-09-26, version 1.5*

Not entirely sure what's changed since previous versions but the app now works great! Can finally pick between playlists at work.

### 5/5 — Works perfect!

*2018-09-17*

I’m so glad someone made a Spotify app, even if it requires the phone. At least with this app I can leave my phone in my backpack and just use my watch. Can’t wait for Spotify to allow streaming directly from the watch!

**Developer response:** Maximd1122,

Thanks for the fair rating! This is exactly how I use Pulsar as well. No more phone slipping out your pocket or having to reach into your bag to switch playlists. Enjoy!

### 5/5 — Really works

*2018-08-26*

Tried everything else. Nothing works like this! Seamless and useable as expected. Thank you!

**Developer response:** Jared562, Thanks for the fair and honest feedback! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I'll be pushing out some new features soon. Let me know if you have any thoughts or ideas on how to make Pulsar even better :)

### 5/5 — Works the best for Spotify I have found

*2018-07-10, version 1.4*

Let’s you select songs from the watch so easily the best app I have found for this.

### 5/5 — Works as stated!

*2018-06-16, version 1.4*

Log in issue fixed and it works as stated. Still need the phone to use Spotify, however let’s me access playlists, albums, etc from my watch. Great for when I’m out doing activities such as running or biking and would like to change my music on the fly, particularly change playlists.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2018-06-16, version 1.4*

I LOVE being able to use my Spotify from my watch. For me it works pretty seamlessly. I just got my series 3 today and am hoping the app will work just as well with leaving my phone at home when I go for my walks????

### 5/5 — Yeah it works!

*2018-06-15, version 1.4*

Originally had a problem with logging in. Dev was quick to reply and fixed the problem and app is working well. Thank you

### 5/5 — The watch app my workout was missing!

*2018-03-31, version 1.0*

I hate having to retrieve my phone out of my pocket during my workouts. With Pulsar, I can control my Spotify playlists from my wrist. It’s so much more convenient!

I use it when I’m running and weight training. Feels great not to be tethered to my phone every time I want to change a song. It’s really come in handy when I teach group exercise classes. I can discreetly set the mood for everyone’s workout without looking distracted on my phone.

There’s only few watch apps like this in the App Store, and Pulsar is by far the best. The other apps are buggy, don’t have a lot of features and their performance is poor. Pulsar is super fast, and reliable. I’ve left it playing all day and it never crashes. Not to mention it looks prettier and is super easy to use. I highly recommend downloading Pulsar!
