The core podcast player stays free. Ultra is available as an optional auto-renewable monthly or yearly subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings.

### 2.5.1 — 2026-08-26

Favorites are now free for everyone and sync across devices. Apple Watch gains more reliable sync plus Smart Speed and Voice Boost for downloaded episodes. New Shortcuts continue Up Next or any list. Also improves episode artwork, queues, CarPlay, per-podcast speed, sorting, headset controls, translations and stability.

### 2.5 — 2026-08-02

Urgent fix: prevents history, duration, or sync metadata from being mistaken for pending downloads and triggering unrequested automatic downloads. Also improves widgets, transcript controls, listening activity, and playback speed up to 5×.

### 2.4 — 2026-07-30

Apple Watch now launches reliably and syncs large libraries safely. CarPlay is restored, episode artwork is more accurate, downloads resume correctly, podcast filters are customizable, and notification badges match your queue.

### 2.3 — 2026-07-19

Smart Speed and Voice Boost sound more natural. Follow complete timestamped transcripts and translate them with Ultra. Configure download limits per podcast, keep interrupted episodes at the front of Up Next, and enjoy more reliable automatic downloads, Apple Watch, CarPlay, swipe deletion and native reordering.
