## What is Pulse CoC?

Pulse CoC is the field companion for Pulse, the deathcare operations platform used by funeral homes, mortuaries, and autopsy providers. It is a tool for licensed professionals and requires an account issued by your employer.

CHAIN OF CUSTODY
Record every transfer of a decedent or a personal effect with a two-scan workflow: scan the object, then scan the destination. Each event is written to an append-only audit trail that cannot be edited after the fact.

NFC AND QR
Read NFC tags and scan QR codes directly with the device. Tag a location once and every later scan resolves against it instantly.

FIRST CALLS AND REMOVALS
Take a first call, work the intake wizard, attach a vehicle and driver at the load step, and capture an into-custody signature from the releasing party. Close the app mid-wizard and it resumes exactly where you left off.

PERSONAL EFFECTS
Photograph effects at intake and attach them to the case file, so what arrived is on the record before anyone has to remember it.

WORKS WITHOUT SIGNAL
Removals happen in hospital basements and on rural roads. Scans queue on the device and replay automatically when the connection returns.

Requires a Pulse account. Contact your administrator for access.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.0.6 — 2026-10-01

Faster, clearer chain of custody in the field.

• Camera: taking custody photos now opens the camera directly, instead of going through the photo picker.
• Simpler navigation: Home is now the hub. Dispatch, the live board, moves and tag lookup are all one tap from there, and every screen has a Home button.
• Photo on every movement: moving a body or personal effects now records a photo alongside the time and location, so each step of the chain is documented.
• Clearer drop-offs: a first call now records where the body is going — into your care, to another funeral home, or elsewhere — so the removal screen only offers the steps that apply. Hand-overs record who received the body and their role.
• Personal effects: screens now name each container, what is still signed out, who has it, and where it needs to go.
• Fixes and refinements throughout, from field feedback.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-09-24

Works with weak or no signal
• When the connection drops, Pulse stays open and shows a notice on every screen instead of an error page.
• Scans and moves made offline are saved on the phone and sent automatically when you are back online. Each one confirms once Pulse has it.
• If Pulse refuses a saved step, your supervisor resolves it in Pulse and it clears on the phone by itself. Other steps keep sending.
• The app reconnects on its own after losing signal.

Also in this version
• Personal effects: capture items by type, check them in and out, and release them against one signed document.
• Releasing a body now requires a fresh scan of its ID band.
• Support for iOS 27.
• Fixes for intake, scanning and releases.
