## What is Pulse EV?

Pulse EV is an automatic Tesla trip log and charging cost tracker: every drive and every charge recorded for you, with distance, energy, efficiency and cost.
See what each charge really cost, at home or at a Supercharger, and how much you saved versus gas.
Plus a live, read-only dashboard streamed from your car: battery, range, charging speed, tire pressure and temperatures.

HOW IT WORKS
Sign in with your Tesla account, then add Pulse EV's virtual key in the Tesla app. Tesla requires a virtual key for every third-party app. Pulse EV only reads your car's data and can never send it a command: it never requests Tesla's Vehicle Commands permission, and the charging permission it holds is used only to read your charging history. It runs on Tesla's official Fleet Telemetry stream, which only sends data while the car is awake, so opening the app never wakes it.

AUTOMATIC TRIP LOG
• Every drive logged automatically: distance, duration, energy used (kWh) and efficiency (Wh/mi or Wh/km)
• Start and end battery and odometer, plus outside temperature
• A map of the exact route you drove, with a satellite view toggle
• Speed-vs-time analysis for drives of 100 miles or more
• Group drives into named road trips
• Plan long drives with charging stops along the way

CHARGING COST TRACKER
• Every session captured: kWh added, average power, cost and location
• Home and public charging side by side, with editable location names
• Gas savings on every charge: what the equivalent gas would have cost

LIVE DASHBOARD (READ-ONLY)
• Battery percentage, range and charging status
• Charging power (kW), energy added (kWh) and time to full
• Tire pressure per wheel in PSI or bar, with a warning when one runs low
• Cabin and outside temperature, lock status and odometer

30-DAY SUMMARY AND BATTERY RECEIPT
• Savings versus gas over the last 30 days
• Energy lost while parked
• Efficiency score against your own driving baseline
• Battery Receipt: where your range went, split into driving, climate and idle drain

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Read-only: Pulse EV cannot lock, unlock, start, honk or control your car
• Pulse EV never asks for your phone's location. Every location shown is your car's GPS, via Tesla
• Your Tesla tokens are encrypted at rest, and the app's connection to our servers is certificate-pinned
• Optional biometric app lock (Face ID or Touch ID)
• No ads. No ad or behavioural-analytics SDKs. Anonymous crash and performance diagnostics only, not tied to your account
• Export trips and charging sessions to CSV (30 to 365 days)
• Delete your account from Settings at any time

PRICING
Comparable apps for Tesla owners typically run $5–$20 a month. Pulse EV starts at $2.99.
Every feature is included in both plans; they differ only in cars and history.
• 14-day free trial: no card, one trial per car, nothing charged automatically when it ends. If you don't subscribe, your trial data is deleted; we email you three days before
• Base: $2.99/month or $29.99/year. 1 car, 365 days of history, CSV export, change which car streams once every 30 days
• Pro: $6.99/month or $69.99/year. Up to 3 cars, lifetime history, switch cars anytime
Subscriptions renew until cancelled in your App Store settings.

REQUIREMENTS
• A Tesla account and a Model 3, Model Y, or Model S / Model X from 2021 on. Older Model S and Model X can't stream live data to third-party apps, so Pulse EV won't work with them.
• Pulse EV's virtual key, added in the Tesla app during setup
• iPhone running iOS 15.0 or later
Not sure about your car? The free trial shows whether live data comes through.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.0.1 — 2026-10-12

Trips tab improvements: the list refreshes when you come back to it, the summary card now matches your totals exactly, the Long/Short filter is consistent, and long date headers no longer run off the screen. Trip energy is now measured from the car's own energy readings, and a trip that ends at a charger keeps its final stretch.

We also renamed the app on the App Store to say what it does: Pulse EV: Trip Log for Tesla.
