## What is Pulse?

Pulse turns the data your iPhone and Apple Watch already collect into something you can actually use: a calm, plain-English brief about how your body is doing today.

Most health apps show you charts. Pulse explains them.

— What Pulse does —

THE DAILY BRIEF
Open the app and read a short, thoughtful summary of where your body is right now. How you slept. How recovered you are. What today might call for. Written in language you'd hear from a knowledgeable friend, not a clinician.

THE DASHBOARD
Every metric you'd want at a glance — sleep, HRV, resting heart rate, steps, active energy, exercise minutes, VO₂ Max, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, wrist temperature, walking heart rate, heart rate recovery, weight, body fat, mindful minutes — pulled from Apple Health into a calm, scannable layout.

THE TRENDS
See how each metric has moved over the last 7, 30, or 90 days. Long-press to inspect any point in time. Average lines show you what's normal for you, not for a population.

THE WIDGET AND COMPLICATIONS
Today's brief on your home screen. Today's brief on your watch face. Glanceable, not nagging.

— What Pulse does NOT do —

▸ It doesn't ask you to log anything. Pulse only reads what your devices already know.
▸ It doesn't send your data anywhere. All AI runs on-device using Apple Intelligence.
▸ It doesn't try to coach you. No prescriptive workout plans, no nutrition rules, no streaks to break.

— Why on-device matters —

Your health data is the most personal information you have. Pulse never sends it to a server. The AI that writes your brief runs entirely on your iPhone using Apple's Foundation Models framework. No account, no cloud, no third parties.

— What you need —

▸ iPhone with iOS 26 or later
▸ Apple Watch (recommended, for richest data)
▸ About two weeks of usage data so Pulse can establish your baseline

— Honest expectations —

Pulse is a wellness companion. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose conditions or replace healthcare professionals. If something in your data concerns you, talk to a doctor.

Pulse is built by an independent developer, not a venture-backed startup. There are no growth hacks, no notifications designed to pull you back in, and no plans to sell, share, or monetize your data. Ever.

If Pulse helps you understand your body a little better, it's working.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 26.6.0 — 2026-05-27

Your morning brief just got smarter — and a touch more local.

— Weather-aware Daily Brief. Pulse now factors in today's weather where you are. Rainy morning? It'll lean toward indoor workouts. Hot and high UV? You'll get a hydration and sun-safety nudge. Cold start? Expect a longer warm-up suggestion. WeatherKit and the language model both run locally — your location never leaves the phone.

— Age-aware AI insights. The brief now adapts to your age cohort. Younger users see playful, supportive guidance with a clear "ask a grown-up if you're unwell" note. Adults get insight tuned to what matters at each stage of life.

— Bubble Playground tune-up. The hidden bubble playground holds a steady six bubbles in focus now, with faster, more responsive physics. Pop one, another arrives.

No accounts. No cloud. No tracking.

### 26.5.3 — 2026-05-11

- Bug Fixes

### 1.2 — 2026-05-05

Workout & Activity Tracking

New Metrics: Added daily workout count and duration to the Dashboard and Trends (7D/30D/90D). Dashboard cards now remain visible on rest days for consistent data access.

Location Tagging: The app now reverse-geocodes recent workout locations, providing a 30-day history of where you train to add more context to your fitness patterns.

Intelligence & Personalization

Content Deduplication: The AI engine now references previous suggestions to ensure Daily Briefs provide fresh, non-repetitive advice.

Integrated Recovery Analysis: Daily Briefs now cross-reference training load with recovery signals (HRV and Resting HR) for more accurate coaching.

Notifications & Alerts

Scheduled Briefs: Automated 7:30 AM notifications now deliver your morning health headline and summary.

Post-Workout Summaries: Receive immediate background notifications containing duration and active energy data upon completing a workout.

Significant Metric Alerts: New automated alerts notify you of major deviations in HRV, heart rate, sleep, or steps relative to your 30-day baseline.

Custom Reminders: Users can now set manual reminders for specific brief suggestions via the new reminder picker.
