## What is Pulse?

Your pulse, your day, your journal.

Pulse is intentionally kept lean: no subscription, no cluttered interface — just you, a moment, and an honest read on how you're actually doing. Free and open source.

HOW IT WORKS

- Capture moments: a short thought, a rating from −2 (bad) to +2 (good), optional tags and location. Done in seconds.

- Reflect on your day: wrap up each evening with your own metrics like sleep, deep work, exercise, or family time. A rotating reflection question gets you started.

- Discover patterns: daily and weekly views show you what lifts you up — and what doesn't. Good days have reasons.

- AI coach: on request, Apple Intelligence analyzes your entries and surfaces insights about your patterns — running entirely on your iPhone, no cloud.

YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS

Everything lives on your iPhone and in your private iCloud. No tracking, no ads, no accounts. The full source code is public on GitHub. Export to JSON anytime.

WHO IS PULSE FOR?

For everyone who has failed at classic journaling: no long entries, no pressure, no streak guilt. A micro-journal that fits your life — not the other way around.

Questions or ideas? Pulse is actively developed — your feedback shapes the roadmap.

### 2.0 — 2026-04-13

Pulse now lets you see the bigger picture.

Two new views give you a broader perspective on your days — without losing the detail that makes journaling meaningful.

WEEK VIEW
Browse your journal week by week. A mini bar chart shows your scores at a glance, and each day card beneath it reveals your moments at a compact but readable level of detail.

MONTH VIEW
Zoom out further and see your entire month at once. Day cards show a color-coded dot for each logged moment, so you can spot patterns across weeks in seconds.

Switch between Day, Week, and Month anytime using the new segmented control at the top — Pulse remembers your preference.

Also in this update:
- Tap any day card to open the reflection for that day
- Various scroll and layout improvements

### 1.9 — 2026-04-03

Metrics on your daily card
Your top three personal metrics now appear directly on your daily reflection card — no need to dig into the details to see how your day shaped up.

Reorder your metrics
Drag and drop your metrics into the order that matters to you. The first three always appear on your card.

Refined design
Fresh accent colour and a number of small visual improvements throughout the app.

Bug fixes and stability improvements
