Simply place your finger on the camera to take a reading. Get

How to Check Your Pulse Using Your Finger:
- First, make sure your fingers aren't cold. When checking your 
pulse, be sure your fingertip completely covers the camera lens 
and flashlight.
- Press gently with your finger. Pressing too hard may result in 
reduced blood flow, which will make it more difficult to get a 
good reading.

All values are estimated from photoplethysmography (PPG): Heart 
Beat detects small changes in light absorption at your fingertip 
to derive pulse timing.
