Recently I thought I would try it again. But instead of a fun app full of nostalgia, I ran into a terrible. Glitchy. Mess. You see when you open the app it glitches and kicks you out, and when you open it again, there’s a 50/50 chance that either the same thing happens again or it works and lets you in. So then when you go to the animator everything seems normal except “oh, they added hats that’s cool” so then you start animating and everything is normal but then you watch the animation and you’re like “What? Why is it going so fast?” And you think it might just be that it’s normal speed when you watch it in photos. NO. It’s still crazy fast and unenjoyable! Nothing is serious and it’s SUPER hard to get a good animation. PLEASE FIX THIS SOON. ### 3/5 — 3 stars due to an error using the motion capture on the selfie cam *2023-02-27, version 3.7* Love this app Its so simple to use and fully love how easy it all is to set up but its a massive shame the selfie camera motion tracking doesnt work on iPad Pro …it just resets the app and you lose any work you’ve created up to that point …..hopefully they find a fix for this ……as using the back camera is ok but you can’t see what your puppet is doing or looks like which isn’t brilliant … ### 2/5 — Slow During Recording and Playback *2022-04-22, version 3.7* I downloaded the app today to keep my 6 year old entertained but unfortunately it doesn’t function well. In theory this app is great fun for kids but in. Practice it is slow during recording and playback during both hand animation and motion tracking. I am using iPad Air 5 so I don’t believe this is an issue with the hardware suitability. ### 2/5 — Good idea, but *2021-04-12, version 3.7* I got this app for my child, and she was extremely excited. But when she inserted her drawing the app made her draw the body parts. In the end it became rough and missed some parts. When she started animating, the movements were really glitchy. It made her quite sad. I do not recommend paying 3 dollars for this app. ### 3/5 — App crashing *2021-03-10, version 3.7* I really enjoy this app but currently using this app with students. The app crashes every time we try to save and share our creations. Using iPads iOS 10.3.3. When I tried to contact app support I get a web filter because of pornography. I’m sure this is a glitch in our system but meanwhile I need assistance with this app ### 2/5 — Good concept but needs a lot of work *2020-04-16, version 2.8.3* Good app to take your own characters and puppetise them. The concept is great but it is not very practical or easy to use. It is very fiddily and takes a very long time to get something basic done. I mainly bought this app for the ‘motion capture’ feature so I don’t have to worry about manipulating the puppet by hand, but motion capture is very quirky and almost useless. With a lot more investment these issues can be ironed out but at this stage it was not worth my money. ### 3/5 — Almost great *2020-01-23, version 2.8* It’s frustrating that we can’t control when to record. You just touch the puppet and video starts recording. I’ll be able to make use of it, by being creative and NOT using it as intended. ### 2/5 — Crashing *2019-11-04, version 2.4* This app seems great but every time we try to save our uploaded puppet the app crashes, and we have to start again. It’s happened four times in a row and now we’re giving up ### 1/5 — Crashed! *2019-10-17, version 2.3* I uploaded a photo to turn it into a puppet. I went through all the steps. When I was done and hit Save, the game crashed! I haven’t tried it again because it’s too much work just to have the game crash again. ### 4/5 — Awesome as usual *2019-09-20, version 2.1* This app has been constantly improving albeit slowly due to the time and energy it takes to build these apps. The developer is a cool mom and entrepreneur. I still have trouble on my iPad Pro (original) where the gyro won’t adjust and I have to turn my iPad upside-down. Also, would love to see us be able to use transparent pngs so we don’t have to cut. Excellent app! I decided to do some recording for the little ones and to find out that it’s changed. I hate that they made this into a subscription now. I rarely use it and when in do, it’s to see the smiles on the little ones. Will delete. ### 1/5 — Unexpected subscription (disappointing) *2025-05-24, version 5.0* I thought I’d found a simple animation app to introduce to my four year old who keeps asking me about doing animation. Being able to draw on paper first meant this wasn’t going to be a 100% screen time activity which was a big plus. The price sounded great. Several days later sat down with my son and we went through the puppet building process. Bitterly disappointed to discover that the animation feature is a subscription feature. It is literally the core functionality of this app. I’ve never pursued an App Store refund before but this will be the first. This is now $60 i have to refund to my clients because I can’t deliver the type of art they ordered. Seeing as your company is just an LLC and not a big worldwide company like adobe, I am going easy on the review. My girls (ages 6 & 9) love to draw and tell stories....and now they can animate! ### 5/5 — Great app for all ages *2020-03-17, version 2.8.3* My 2.5 year old can use this and it will grow with him. He loves making his own puppets and background. This will definitely grow with him. This app is also so reasonably priced for the amount of fun we’ve already had with it. ### 5/5 — Way cool *2019-08-17, version 2.0* Ive downloaded a lot of apps for my kids over the years and this one has something special to it. I really like being able to create stories with my kids and their drawings. I think the added bit of physics when moving things is a really nice touch. While we most enjoy making our own drawings, i like that there are premade drawings. ### 5/5 — Misclassified as Education *2019-08-10, version 2.0* This is a terrific app, but is misclassified as Education meaning that Screen Time App Limits allows my kids to play this instead of learning maths or reading.
