### 2/5 — Buggy

*2022-08-19, version 1.9.6*

When clicking on the “more info” button the app closes down and exits. Not a confidence builder.

### 3/5 — Mixed feelings

*2021-04-19, version 1.6.1*

So I was very reluctant to get a puppy this way. I really wanted to adopt and meet my pup in person however the breed I really wanted is rarely available here for adoption. When I first inquired I got an immediate response and the girl assisting me was fantastic. Once I paid everything (which was A LOT) things did start to get a little less fantastic. I was told several times the puppy was all ready to go and I should expect him mid month. Then when the date got sent to me it was 10 days past that. Doesn’t sound like a big deal but I really wanted to get training and bonding with him right away. Also, the date was not very convenient since my job was changing and I was told many times he was ready and could get him mid month. Then I was promised updated pictures which 2 weeks later I still have not received. The girl I worked with never told me she would no longer be my contact so I am dealing with a puppy manager. She is nice enough but I found the responses I am getting to be passive aggressively rude, stating that they followed up and that’s all they are required to do. I find that unacceptable considering the price I am paying for this service. I am just praying I get this dog this coming weekend and it’s the dog I asked for since the breeder can’t be bothered to send a few updated photos.

### 4/5 — Great service; just okay app

*2021-04-11, version 1.6.1*

I will try to divorce my review of the app from that of the service.

As a service, PuppySpot delivers. My baby is 10 months old, as sweet as can be, and despite a really rocky start where he would cry all night and poop a lot in his crate, which made me question why I would ever adopt a puppy, I wouldn’t trade him for anything. He was healthy and immediately loving and trusting of all humans. I feel like they actually do look into the breeders to ensure there is no abuse or puppy mill breeders. They even kept him with his mom an extra couple of weeks because they determined he wasn’t ready to leave her by the expected delivery date, which I definitely appreciate. Places that just care about the money and not about the health of the dogs would’ve taken him regardless, but this, to me, shows they actually care.

One thing though I didn’t really like is that I also live in Southern California and could have driven up to Riverside where the breeder is located to pick him up myself. But they still required me to do the concierge door-to-door delivery. So that was a little annoying.

As an app, PS is lacking. I found the interface confusing, and it really obfuscates how to get help or chat with a puppy manager. And once he was delivered, they just sort of disappear, and you can’t start a new chat with them for any support issues with the new member of your household.

Overall, good service, quality pups, but prefer the website over the app.

### 1/5 — New puppy Horrible communication!

*2021-03-02, version 1.5.3*

Though the first woman I spoke to when I found my puppy was AMAZING. Since then I cannot say I’ve been 100% satisfied. I chose a pup that was ready to travel (old enough, weighed enough etc) so that was on 2/12. No puppy yet! I reached out to the puppy concierge (who has been amazing) and she informed me that my pup will arrive by 3/10. Still no details on the app!!! That’s 23 days after I paid for tia puppy!! Still looking at the PuppySpot app, which they must not update!! I have seen no change on here since day 2. Pretty unsatisfactory

### 1/5 — Terrible Customer Service

*2021-02-24, version 1.5.3*

We found an adorable puppy on puppy spot. We actually talked to someone over the phone and that’s when we decided to move forward. We were told the puppy would be to us within 1-2 weeks, but if we did the chaperone service it would speed up the travel time. So we spent the extra $1500 on the service and here we are past the date we were told we would have the puppy and they haven’t even given us any travel information or a date when we can actually expect the dog. I would never get another puppy from this organization. To spend this kind of money and receive zero customer service and just get the run around makes me think they are just a scam. Stay away far far away!

### 3/5 — Disappointed

*2021-02-10, version 1.5.3*

They are okay but response times can be slow. As long as they get me my puppy, I’ll be happy!

### 1/5 — Fraud!!!! Self admitted puppy mill!

*2021-01-12, version 1.5.2*

My family wanted a big dog and spent twice as much and bought what we thought was a standard Bernedoodle. The dog - whom we love - is now seven months old and weighs only 20+ lbs. I called and was told that they only sell puppies and don’t differentiate Standard Bernedoodles from mini Bernedoodles. On top of that, the person who called was rude and obnoxious! I am reporting them to BBB and other government agencies! Beyond mad!!

### 4/5 — Not so bad after all :)

*2020-10-15, version 1.4.8*

There are a ton of negative reviews about puppy spot. I’ll be the first to admit, I freaked when I started researching. I just received my puppy and granted I haven’t done the vet check yet, I’m happy with the entire process. I truly got door to door service, arrival on time, communication was easy and on time, and my pup was delivered on the expected day. During the waiting period, photos were updated in the app every couple weeks. Although we asked for the breeder info, they didn’t give it (I assume it’s to allow them to charge a brokerage fee so people don’t go direct to breeder, but idk) we did in fact get that info once our puppy arrived. Their team did share the parents AKC IDs which gave me comfort after seeing they were registered and legit. All in all, the reviews can make it easy to over react but in the end, the process fine.

### 1/5 — No communication and app crashes

*2020-10-13, version 1.4.8*

The issues with travel are completely expected and reasonably all things considered. But it seems over the last month they have cut the staff entirely, outsourced the call center and attempted to replace the text feature with a chatbot. JUST WAIT! Get your dog in person when you can.

### 1/5 — Give us your money then BYE

*2020-10-02, version 1.4.7*

PuppySpot is a a company that wants your money and after they get it they simply don’t care. They never once did anything they promised on time. We always have to follow up with them, sometimes multiple times to get what they promised. Definitely would not recommend to anyone.

### 2/5 — Download photos switch does not work

*2020-06-11, version 1.4.7*

The photos page shows a ‘download’ icon but it doesn’t work at all. Even the video cannot be downloaded.
I have to take snapshots to save those pictures.
Needs to be fixed

### 1/5 — Horrible Place to Get a Pet

*2020-05-29, version 1.4.7*

I cannot believe this company attempted to sell me a sickly dog and not tell my family until the day of. It was obvious they knew the conditions of this pet and they waited to tell us until the last day to try and still make money off of this sick dog. They wouldn’t even send us the vet papers because they didn’t want us to find out how badly sick she actually was. Also, it took so many hours to get a refund on this dog and they were hesitant to even give us our money back. Some of the breeders on here get away with so many unhealthy things that they do to their dogs. I have never been so angry with any other service in my life.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Buyer be aware

*2022-12-30, version 1.9.6*

We found a pup “ready’ for travel and bought it. That was 3 weeks ago. No communication and no updates on their ap, which btw doesn’t work properly. Did the pup die?? Get sick??

I have no one to blame but myself for not checking the reviews. If you like horrible & deceptive service, like to gamble then Puppy Spot is the spot to be.

Extremely important; The filters do not allow a ‘distance from you” search option. My puppy turned out to be 1500 miles away. Imagine the stress on a 11 wk pup being transported that far in the winter??

The 1 star I gave them is being generous.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2022-08-18, version 1.9.6*

September 18,2022
I first ordered my Chihuahua baby at 7 wks and she was only 2 1/2 lbs. We had to wait until she was at least 10 wks and 3 lbs for transportation. We received a call from PuppySpot that she passed her Vet examination and was well enough for transport. We finally received her at 10 wks and 3 1/4 lbs on September 10. The communications were fair with PuppySpot and I actually got a phone call from the breeder. I was actually contacted Rt. 62 who transported her and give me more information then PuppySpot. We had a Vet appointment on September 17, the Vet said she seemed in good health. We left a stool sample with the Vet. This is when it went down hill. The Vet called us the next day and told us she had Giardia, a parasite in the intestines which is very contagious even to humans. I called PuppySpot immediately and left a message and was never called back. For the price I paid I never expected my puppy to have this parasite plus I really thought the communication with PuppySpot was horrible. Think twice about buying from PuppySpot !!!!

### 1/5 — The worst experience ever

*2022-07-25, version 1.9.6*

Stay far, far away from this company. They follow up within seconds before you purchase the dog but after that, you’re constantly ignored, sent to an outsourced call center with people who can’t answer questions and told countless lies about when your dog is to arrive. There is zero communication and they do not fly your dog private like they market. Instead my dog was shipped with SIXTEEN others. Erin the puppy manager is so rude and passive aggressive. I will never purchase from them again.

### 1/5 — Do NOT buy a dog here before reading this

*2022-07-13, version 1.9.6*

I bought my Pomeranian in 2020. Once I picked him up from the airport, it was very apparent that the flight had taken a toll on his mental health. He was very frightened every time we had to travel anywhere in a moving vehicle and had extreme anxiety on top of separation anxiety. Fast forward a year and half and my dog gets sick and passed from a genetic defect. I followed all of Puppy Spots requirements for his “guarantee” and after submitting all my paperwork I NEVER heard back from my “Puppy Manager”. I’ve been so heartbroken since my pup died. Please support local shelters and adoption before you come here and get a sick puppy. I will NEVER work with this company again. I would leave zero stars if possible.

### 1/5 — Terrible customer service, tons of scams

*2022-05-25, version 1.9.6*

I had a dog to be delivered and they tried to swap it out with another gender even… luckily I noticed and cancelled the delivery. Furthermore they still tried to give me the wrong dog after I said it clearly was not the one we purchased. DO NOT USE THIS APP

### 1/5 — PuppySpot sick puppies

*2022-03-13, version 1.9.6*

I will warn you about PuppySpot. Look at page 2 and page 3 of your google review search. I wish I had. The honest reality is they are a puppy mill broker that sells sick puppies for incredibly high rates. Our puppy arrived in a van and the driver was frantically cleaning up diarrhea. He knew it was because the puppy was very sick, with parasites. Don’t believe the PuppySpot made up reviews. There is a reason they pay for their reviews to come up number one on the google search list….

### 1/5 — PUPPY ID DONT Exist

*2021-09-23, version 1.9.4*

It keeps saying my puppy ID does not exist even after I purchased a puppy.

### 1/5 — Wow

*2021-08-28, version 1.9.1*

For the price it cost to purchase a dog I was hoping that the app and website to be top of the line.

They both are not working and I tried on multiple devices. I even tried on friends devices and it still was not working.

I could have gotten a puppy for less than half the price, same breed, and wouldn’t have needed to have it flown in.
But because of the way this company described their system and management, I thought the price was worth it for better service.

To anyone reading this, please, please, look for a closer option or even rescue. This company needs a rude awakening and needs to treat its customer better and not gauge them and then leave them without any information or communication.

Thank you for visiting my tedtalk.

### 1/5 — PUPPY MILL BREEDERS

*2021-05-14, version 1.6.1*

I purchased a puppy from PuppySpot for an exorbitant amount of money, which I chose to do based on the company's guarantee of work with reputable breeders - never puppy mill breeders, and its promise of exceptional veterinarian care for all puppies, including a final full exam 1-3 days prior to coming home. I received my puppy on March 11th and ended up going to my own vet the very next day, which has set off a series of visits in the last six weeks for a variety of issues. The second I met my 5 1/2 month old, 4 lb puppy, it was clear she was underweight. All you had to do was pick her up and feel her bones sticking out. She was also itching non-stop and exhibited extreme fear with people, especially men. When I visited the vet on day two of her being home, he confirmed that she was underweight, had a skin irritation and, as eventually determined after blood tests, had a Giardia infection. She also had to be muzzled at the vet due to her aggression and biting. All of these issues, as well as others that we are only now finding out about, would have been detected on sight alone, let alone testing, if, in fact, the breeder had his/her eye on the puppy and the PuppySpot vet did his/her job correctly. To this day, six weeks later, my puppy is still fearful of people and aggressive towards men. A computer teacher came to the house today and my puppy ran under a table and was shaking. My licensed trainer said it is clear this puppy was not socialized at all with people and that she had little to no affection. Socialization of puppies is also a guarantee that PuppySpot promotes but clearly does not implement with its breeders. After a while of running to and from the vet I started to dig into things. The breeder from which PuppySpot got my puppy was cited in 2017 for having malnourished animals. This breeder had also experienced a great deal of complaints over the years and eventually changed its name, but continues to operate under the same company umbrella. I also found out PuppySpot used to have a different name as well; they operated for many years under a different name, dealt with a lot of complaints, and then changed their name, but still operate as the same company. I have tried and tried and tried to get information on how exactly my puppy was raised and where. It is clear that she was kept in a cage and just had her food and water changed daily, if that!, without any regard as to whether she ate it or not or how she was. But, I wanted to know for sure. I also wanted to be reimbursed for the nearly $2,000 that I have paid in medical bills for issues that my puppy came to me with. I have been yanked around from one call center rep to the next, and then from one department to the next. I finally had the ear of the associate general counsel who said she would assist me with getting the answers and the reimbursements, and yet, even though she promised to provide me with everything over two weeks ago, I have no information or reimbursement. At this point, I am grateful for the opportunity to have saved my puppy and I hope to heal her with the proper care and love. But, at the end of the day, it is clear to me that PuppySpot is interested only in transactions with no care whatsoever for animals and no oversight whatsoever with breeders. Their only interest is in making a buck on sales on puppies from puppy mill breeders who are more than happy to provide many, many uncared for puppies that go home with terrible health issues. All you have to do is read the many reviews on the Better Business Bureau and all over the internet to see how many PuppySpot customers are home with or who have lost sick puppies, all due to the fact that PuppySpot made promises that they did not keep and they did not require their "vendors" to keep, with the end result leading to sick, helpless animals. PuppySpot, along with its cadre of breeders, should be cited with violations and shuttered for good. Shame on them for their total disregard for the lives of the animals they based their livelihoods on. Shame on them!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2021-03-14, version 1.5.3*

It keeps telling me the puppy I purchased that the puppy ID isn’t valid with a puppy when I have the order form and confirmation

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2022-08-06, version 1.9.6*

It is so helpful with letting you know everything they you need to know

### 5/5 — Stella Bella

*2021-08-26, version 1.9.1*

When I was looking for my perfect puppy I was looking at a few different sites. I had done my research on the PuppySpot and I didn’t like the reviews. I decided not to go with the PuppySpot based on those reviews. Then they called me. Their website is very similar and has the same colors as the company I thought I was going through. I ended up buying my dog after speaking to one of the associates. I then realized I went with the wrong company. I was scared. I probably annoyed the staff with the amount of calls and emails I sent to them. The staff were extremely responsive and always very polite. Everything went smoothly. We have our little Stella :) . When she arrived she was clean and she was sweet as a button. She came with all her veterinarian documents. I’m very impressed with the service and I would highly recommend the PuppySpot. I’m so happy I picked up their phone call and made the mistake I made.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2021-06-07, version 1.7.0*

We just got the app and all, but the people are so nice! They help you with any questions! And the app so far, LOVE IT! Most of all, they are friendly! I recommend PuppySpot, and pass it on to your friends like our friend did! Our Havanese Issac is on his way! We are renaming him Mofli. We knew he was perfect at the moment and I am but now was SOOOOO impatient. But when our staff told us about the app, we got it, I was more calm and was about to explode! This app takes your worries away!

### 5/5 — I got a beautiful husky puppy from here ❤️❤️

*2021-03-07, version 1.5.3*

We were trying to find an easy way to get a puppy and we found PuppySpot, the process of getting her was super easy. We got a husky from there and she is happy and healthy!

### 5/5 — PuppySpot is worth it

*2020-07-31, version 1.4.7*

PuppySpot is amazing. They have amazing customer service and are very clear with everything. They give you tips on training, grooming, and so much more. They don’t always answer my questions in one second, but they still answer me every time I ask them something. It was awesome to be able to check on my puppy as much as I wanted to. Being able to see my puppy’s progress was very fun. They also included a list of things to get for a new puppy!

Because of PuppySpot, my family and I have found the perfect dog for our family. We are so grateful for PuppySpot!

### 5/5 — Absolutely amazing ❤️

*2020-06-02, version 1.4.7*

Hi, I’m Michelle. I was looking online for puppies and I came across this gorgeous Siberian Husky naked Kai. I told my parents because I knew that he was just PERFECT! There are these “puppy managers” which you could communicate with. They have such great service here! They gave me all the information I needed about this husky that I have today. They’re very friendly with you through the phone and through texting and their very clear with everything they tell you. I have no idea what I would do if I didn’t come across this website! Please don’t listen to these false reviews, their puppies will bring you nothing but absolutely JOY and fill your family with complete happiness. Thank you so much puppyspot! You guys are the best!!!💞💞💞💞💞

### 5/5 — I love this app!

*2020-05-12, version 1.4.7*

My family and I got two beautiful golden retriever puppies from this app. We loved getting frequent updates on our pups and tips on how to prepare and train them. The only addition I would add is adding a feature where two puppies can be registered on one profile. I don’t like logging in an out to check on both. Other than that, wonderful experience!!! We can’t wait to love our puppies when we pick them up in a few days!! Best place to get dogs on the internet. Hands down.

### 5/5 — Great Service - Don’t understand the bad reviews.

*2020-05-05, version 1.4.7*

I’m writing this review because of all the 1 star reviews I’m seeing for this app/this company. I find them extremely frustrated, short-sighted, and egregiously wrong.

I have dealt with Puppy Spot on two occasions now and the experiences have been nothing but pleasurable. The service not only makes finding the right puppy extremely easy, it completely modernizes how we get pets. Instead of searching for months and months for a breeder in your area with a dog having a litter at the exact time you want your puppy, PuppySpot teams with breeders to bring all the puppy options to you in one place.

I do not think breeders would work with this company or give their seal of approval if it was just a typical inhumane puppy mill as some others suggest. I can also tell they care about their puppies by the amount of time they devote to making sure you have a safe home and environment to bring the puppy into. A “run of the mill” puppy mill would be purely focused on the sale of the puppy, nothing more. I could be wrong but that is definitely not the impression I got.

I also do not understand all these comments about Puppy Spot being unresponsive. In my experience they walked me through the entire journey seamlessly from purchase to delivery of the pups. They could not have been more helpful in explaining everything, addressing my concerns, and in ensuring a smooth transaction.

Way to go PuppySpot. Keep up your great work finding homes for puppies across the nation!

Highly recommended if you are in the market for a puppy.

I’ve also had the experience of dealing directly with breeders and they can be everything that many of you are incorrectly describing puppy spot to be. They can be unreliable, dishonest and difficult to work with. Many also make it harder to pay by requiring cash and not accepting other payment methods. Some will insist on you coming to meet the puppy before picking it up while others will show clear discomfort at the very suggestion. Working directly with breeders presents these and many other unique challenges. PuppySpot , however, has become a facilitator of puppy transactions by building a platform which users can utilize to quickly match puppy lovers with the next member of their family.

Also I cannot believe that now of all times people would be complaining about delivery delays. There’s a pandemic out there people! Everything has been/is getting delayed. The puppies can’t travel by plane right now. Even Amazon, the king of two day, one day, and even same day delivery is struggling to get regular non essential items to people in less than a week. Give me a break. You are very naive to think everything is going to go perfectly as planned in this improvised world and unprecedented time we are now living in. You should think about how precious and valuable life is instead of wining and moaning about how your puppy came a week late. Guess what? People are dying. No one cares that you are throwing a fit and taking “revenge” by leaving bad reviews because things didn’t go entirely your way. Perspective and priorities, people. Have some.

Thanks again to PuppySpot!

### 4/5 — Good but needs to change some things

*2023-07-02*

Okay I really love that they make sure your dog is safe before it’s shipped by I don’t like one thing about the app why are the dogs so expensive like can’t you have a cheap dogs section or like 800 dollar dogs

### 4/5 — Easy to work with but my dog got parvo

*2022-08-16, version 1.9.6*

They were very attentive and give you a lot of updates and tips before getting your dog, pick up with easy. But unfortunately my puppy got parvo which can only be transferred from dog to dog when they are not fully vaccinated for it, my puppy was transported in a van with I don’t even know how many other dogs that only have the same level of treatment that he does. He is doing fine now but parvo is deadly. So if your new puppy is having any blood in his poops or throwing up I would highly suggest taking him to the vet to get it caught early
