## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not what I expected for a paid app

*2017-03-28, version 6.1*

Poor quality when used for live music. Expected much more. Free apps seem to do a better job for my purposes so I'm sad to have spent the money on this.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2013-12-24, version 4.1*

Downloaded to iphone 5. Tried to record. Nothing. It kept making files but it wasn't recording anything in those files.

### 1/5 — Worthless!

*2011-01-18, version 2.3*

This App does not perform! 100% of my recordings disappeared.
Get something else. This deserves zero stars.

### 1/5 — Lost recordings

*2010-12-20, version 2.2*

After losing two recordings now, I'm afraid I have to give up on this app. Support was easy to contact and prompt in responding, but they couldn't figure out what the problem was. Recorded essential interviews, renamed them, and then couldn't play them back. Error message said "invalid recording."

### 1/5 — A big disappointment

*2010-06-10, version 0*

I had great hope for this app starting out, but the software has been buggy, and the support is not at all up to usual Mac standards in my mind.
For instance, I had problems synching with Safari and Bonjour, and no one told me it was a known bug. And today, a new version comes out, fixing that specific bug.
Very frustrating!

I also can't get their email function to work, and they have no clear answers about that as well.

And you have to be very careful setting sound levels or you will get a terrible recording.

Another disappointment- You create a name for your recording, but that name does not hold up when you export to your computer. You wind back up with a title just showing date and time.

I hope the Andrea people read this, because I know they are capable of doing much better.

### 2/5 — It would be awesome if it would sync.....

*2012-02-29, version 2.9*

I downloaded this app to use with Dragon Natrually Speaking. I had been using a sony digital recorder that would sync with my computer. Since I upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit Sony does not provide a driver for my now useless expensive digital recorder. I was so excited to see Nuance recommend this app. Unfortunately even though I have wifi connected on my phone and my computer is on the same wifi and connected, the app says no wifi connection is present.
Hopefully this is a bug that will be fixed. I really dont want to spend 150 bucks on another digital recorder. The quality of the recording and the convenience are awesome....but useless without the sync. Will review again if support gets back to me and fixes the problem. The website had no immediate support. I sent an email. Fingers crossed!

### 4/5 — Needs update

*2018-01-11, version 6.1*

Has some bugs. Interface for switching between recording and file management awkward. Fails to start new recording and switch to record mode from file categories.

### 4/5 — Works as Advertised

*2011-03-13, version 2.3*

I use this app primarily to record myself reading the stuff I highlight on the books I read (sort of like making my own audio book). The app works as advertised and the noise canceling capability works very well. The recording quality is very good (for voice), and the file size is manageable at about 1 MB per minute.

I did find one bug. If you create a recording and then give that recording a different name (say from Memo1 to Chapter 1), the app will no longer allow you to append to your existing recording. So, if you want to keep appending to your previous recordings, do not rename it unless you are absolutely sure you will no longer append to it. Other than that, I would have given this app a 5 star.

### 5/5 — Works great, good sound quality

*2020-12-08, version 6.4*

I’m a singing teacher, and I use this app in the studio to record student performances and resources for students. Sound quality is great, easy sharing via email (I email, and moments later, the student has received the recording on their own device). WiFi sync makes it easy to download files to my Mac. Love this app!

### 5/5 — Works fine

*2016-12-04, version 6.1*

Works fine

## Most praised reviews (5 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Woo

*2015-10-24, version 4.3*

Good. Doesn't use storage up. Really clear loud recording. Can record for hours. Doesn't have annoying button press sounds.

### 5/5 — CindyChap

*2014-06-28, version 4.3*

This app has everything you need for class lectures. Records very well, playback is very clear, you can append to recording even after closing out of it, you can bookmark, you can playback through Bluetooth speaker. Tech support is awesome and answered all my questions and had Bluetooth speaker support up and running in about a week after my email which was just in time because my classes were starting the very next day. Upgraded to pureaudio live pro. Very satisfied all around

### 5/5 — Excellent audio quality

*2012-03-17, version 2.9*

What a difference the noise cancellation makes. Great job

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2011-03-12, version 2.3*

Does exactly what it's supposed to do. As far as I know, it's the only recorder app that does file transfer within iTunes itself. A HUGE plus. Sound quality is great and very easy to use.

### 5/5 — New recorder app

*2010-04-23, version 0*

I just found this. Worked perfectly. Pristine sound. And I see what appear to be a few new tools.
