We tell you why you left a room Every case used to say the room owner removed you, even when your spot was simply cleared after a long absence. Now the reason is stated plainly, and when you can rejoin we say how. If you left on your own, no notice appears at all. Pro rooms that were created with four seats On the first launch of a new device or a restore, creating a room before the subscription check finished produced a four person room instead of eight. Room size cannot be changed after creation, so the app now waits for the check. School ranking periods changed Today and this week are replaced by last 7 days, last 30 days, and overall. The today board only updated when other people opened the app, so it looked live when it was not. Overall counts what has been recorded since ranking began. Days together reads correctly The old wording read like a streak of consecutive days. It is a count of the days you actually studied together, and it can go down if someone deletes their account. Number wording in English Counts now read correctly at one. One day, one hour, one session, one sticker. Camera frames never leave your device, today or ever. ### 5.9 — 2026-08-30 Study rooms got easier to reach, and several numbers and messages that were off are now correct. Start a room from the home screen Creating a room or joining with a code is now right on the home screen. It used to be hidden behind a small icon at the top. Change your character in one tap Your own face is now marked in the room, and tapping it opens your character editor. Cheers stay on screen A cheer used to flash for a moment and disappear, so it was easy to miss. The latest one now stays, with the time it arrived, and a tap dismisses it. Room size is stated up front Four people on the free plan, eight with Pro. We say so before you create a room, and again when the room fills up. The video watermark now follows your language Videos made by English and Japanese users had the Korean app name burned in. Fixed. Purchase screens tell you what happened Restore Purchases gave no feedback at all, a purchase waiting for family approval looked like nothing had happened, and failures gave no reason. All three are fixed. Also fixed Leaving a room while offline and rejoining could remove you from that room. The weekly summary could report the week before last instead of last week. The annual free trial length was shown incorrectly. If your day starts in the early morning, the today marker in stats was off by a day. An empty school search showed nothing at all. Camera frames never leave your device, today or ever. ### 5.8 — 2026-08-29 Your desk is a little less lonely, and your timelapse is a little more yours. Study together with friends Create a room, share the code, and see who is actually seated right now. Send one of eight preset cheers without breaking anyone's focus. There is no free form chat. Up to four people on the free plan, eight with Pro. Decorate your timelapse Place stickers on your study video, drag them anywhere, and change their size and angle. Scrub through the video to pick the exact frame you want to decorate against. Write a single line on the closing card that plays at the end. Your character sits with you The same character you use in study rooms now sits in the corner of your video. It looks around when you step away, and celebrates briefly when you pass an hour. You can turn it off in Settings. Saving is faster, and you can see what is happening Saving a video takes less waiting, and progress is shown on screen. If you try to leave without saving what you decorated, we ask once more. Also fixed A long recording could lose part of its footage. That is fixed. The screen no longer says presence is being detected when camera access is off. Camera frames never leave your device, today or ever. ### 5.3 — 2026-08-11 This update is about not losing your momentum. Pick up where you left off, even if the app closes during a break If the app is closed while you are on a break, you can now resume the same session when you reopen it. Break-end reminders are also delivered even while Focus is on. We tell you when notifications are turned off If break reminders are not arriving, the settings screen now explains why instead of leaving you guessing. Your timelapse is much harder to lose If the app closes during a long recording, the footage captured up to that point is kept. When storage runs low we protect what has already been recorded, and we warn you before recording starts if there is not enough space. School Ranking now has a last 7 days view With a daily view only, there were moments when everything you had built up until yesterday was invisible. You can now see the last 7 days, and when a board is empty we tell you exactly why. If your record has not been uploaded yet, you can retry. We now surface iCloud sync problems If syncing stops because your iCloud storage is full, the app lets you know. Your study records stay safe on your device in the meantime. Your streak freezes and subject tags follow you They now carry over when you move to a new device. Searching for a school sends nothing Simply looking up a school before joining the ranking no longer sends any identifier. Camera footage never leaves your device, today or ever. ### 5.2 — 2026-08-04 This update is all about reliability. Fixed a crash during study sessions We found and fixed what was causing the app to quit unexpectedly while recording a study timelapse. Your timelapse no longer disappears We found two separate causes of recorded videos going missing and fixed both. When building the video fails on a long session, we now recover as much as we can instead of losing everything. We ask before you leave without saving If you close your report while an unsaved timelapse is waiting, we'll show you a preview and ask first — so an hour of work isn't lost by accident. Fixed photo saving Saving to Photos could fail while showing only "check your photo permission," even when permission was already granted. Fixed the app looking frozen when you finish You'll now see progress while your session report is being prepared. Clearer school ranking status We now explain that a school appears on the board once three of its members have studied. With only one or two people, a school's total would simply be one person's record.
