Also as you are only allowed to persons on a face to face visit , purple visits is a brilliant idea for those who don’t get to see there loved ones face to face . ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Cant change address *2021-03-31, version 3.2.0* It wont let me change my address ### 1/5 — Whats the point *2020-11-22* After not seeing my partner and the children not seeing their dad since march we thought this was a good solution,how wrong was we,it goes off every 5 seconds to retake a selfie to verify! Even when we were all sat like statues with good lighting and plain background etc! Kids were so upset,not even had 10mins with him out of the half hour due to it constantly cutting out! Do you know how to fix this problem? ### 3/5 — Put the prison option first as to not waste people’s time!! *2025-12-10, version 4.3.11* Went through the process of registering, sorting out my ID for verification etc only to find out that the prison I needed to add hasn’t supported Purple Visits since 2022. Why not ask about the prison first before allowing people to proceed. Unnecessary data collection. ### 3/5 — It’s great but only fault is *2021-07-16, version 3.3.0* I love purple visit it’s quick and easy and time efficient. Saves you a lot of money and helps you connect quickly. Only downfall is that the camera seems to twist on a iPhone and I’m not sure why making the positioning on the camera look weird. It never use to do this before and suddenly now all of a sudden it twists the whole thing. I have had normal WhatsApp FaceTimes calls and this does not happen ### 3/5 — Okay not great *2021-03-07* We enjoy using this because it’s the only thing we have right now instead of social visits. 30 minutes is not so long and most of the call is spent verifying to get back in after knocking off on us. It’s a bit disappointing when you have been looking forward to seeing someone close and then don’t get to have a decent conversation. Needs to recognise human shadow. Grateful to the person who invented it. Needs to not switch off as quickly just because the mobile moves direction. Only down side to this app is if the prison doesn’t bring the prisoner on time to the video call, say 5 minutes late.. they don’t get back to time lost. Found the whole process very easy from start to finish. One verified (which never took 48 hours, very fast and efficient) we have had two purple visits so far which we have been extremely happy with. In these unprecedented times it had made life so much easier. It’s nice to be able to see your relative if not in the flesh but this is the next best thing. I would highly recommend, have given 4 stars as I believe there is always room for improvement.
